Home Services reviews in Manteca, California

I wouldn't mind paying for overly priced products if the staff were "happy to help." This last time was the third, maybe the fourth visit to the store. I get the sense that the customers annoy the employees. Going forward, i'll spend the extra few minutes and drive to Leslie's. The ladies at Leslie's are really friendly and helpful.

Vintage rescued me out of a bad situation. I had a home warranty claim that was originally scheduled and serviced by Aqua Brite pools out of Fresno and the technician Ian from aquabrite ended up damaging the brand new part he was installing. In the end he tried to get the insurance company to inform me that there was going to be out of pocket cost of over $200 in order for me to get the pump working correctly.
I finally got them to reach out to another company and vintage came out. After they inspected the issues going off my pool they had said they didn't need any out-of-pocket costs for them to fix the leaking issue that was going on. They ordered the part and repaired my pump in about 5 days. Seeing how this is in the heart of summertime and people are very busy that was extremely fast, and I was extremely satisfied. Finally seeing my pool pump running without parts leaking.
I'm sure vintage pools if they wanted to cut it did many things in essence to make this situation a little bit more difficult for me, but they showed their character and did nothing but satisfy me and work with me. The repair department for vintage pool Service Dept gets a A++ and a thumbs up... thank you vintage pools... -
Had Vintage Pools install a $2700.00 pool pump less than a year ago. I felt like the pump noise was loud when running on high speed. Called service department and asked that a technician stop by to look at it. Technician stopped by, listened to the pump and said the pump was operating correctly. Received a call from “Debbie” two minutes after the technician left and she said we owed $179.00 for a service call but since he was only there five minutes she’d reduce it to $139.00. What a gal! Needless to say where they can stick their service call!

I do not recommend....
*Poor service day flexibility - I am in public safety and work shift work. I have dogs and would have to lock them up on my pool cleaning days on the days I was home. There are months where my shifts rotate to the only day Vintage would send a pool service tech to my address in Salida. They refused to provide any other option so I would still pay and go weeks without a service due to my work schedule.
*Installed a new pump motor and did not set the pool to filter to run long enough so it turned green. The service tech noticed it was green but was not allowed to make any adjustments on the new pump motor the company had installed and told me they would program the timer. I work a lot so at first I didn't notice there was a problem. Since I do work a lot, I paid top dollar to have the Deluxe Service. After they came out to adjust it, my pool looked great (when I was home for a service)
*When you need to contact their office, their customer service skills get a "0" because I had my pool tech leave me a note that he could not service my pool because I had not paid my bill. When I went in to the office in Manteca regarding the note from my service tech, the office clerk admitted she had sent the bill to the previous owner who had put in a change of address. I do not get any mail for them at all so therefore, my bill was missed.
*My review is not based on the pool service techs that came to my home. The business is poorly run and sooner or later they will see that people have other options. -
We contracted these people to do a start up on our new pool. Original quote was $450, they discounted it to $350 because we contracted for a monthly service as well. They agreed to 3 visits to begin on a Wednesday return Friday and the following Monday. My husband found there were no chemicals in our pool on Thursday. I called them Friday and voiced my concerns. I was told that was normal. I was also told we needed to test again on Tuesday afternoon. There was still no evidence of pool service as of Friday evening. Monday they came to service our pool and pulled our solar cover all the way back to one end. I received a call from them stating my pool chlorine level was at a 3 and they normally don’t service pools with a solar cover but made this exception for us. I apologized and let them know we were unaware of that policy. They then told me they were going to return again on Wednesday at no additional charge to me because my alkaline was low but my chlorine level was now a 5. Funny thing, my husband forgot to remove the cover and Wednesday came and went. I called on Thursday stating that there were now chemicals in the pool but there was none the previous week and they insisted they had done the service and suggested maybe our kit was old. Furthermore, they stated they came Wednesday like they promised and yet my pool cover was never moved. Things that make you go hmmmm. Oh yes, one more thing. After voicing our concerns, instead of trying to make it right, they now can not service us monthly even though they said they could in the beginning. I have been hung up on twice and been passed from one person to another. BEWARE CONSUMERS! Still waiting to hear from a manager as the supervisor doesn’t seem to be concerned about our concerns, it’s not her department. BEWARE!
Update: I received a call back from the manager Jeff. He was pleasant and sent a pool service tech Kaylon to our home. She was kind and did clean our filters and added chlorine. I thank you for making this right with us. -
I called several times asking for a service at my residence, I never got a call back.

I’m extremely disappointed in this pool service of late. I’ve had chemical only service for about 2 years. On 7/31 the pool was full of algae and green. I informed them and they told me there wasn’t any chlorine. Isn’t that what I pay them for? I understand mistakes but it happened again.
No one ever came out this past week and chlorine levels dropped to zero again. I shouldn’t have to test my pool chemicals when I pay someone to do it. -
We recently had to change our pool company and chose Vintage Pools based on a recommendation we received. I can only say this company is fantastic so far. From draining and cleaning the pool, to putting in a light, replacing filter parts and doing regular maintenance they have done an awesome job! Their communication with their customer is on point as well. If you're looking for an excellent pool service company I would highly recommend Vintage Pools:-)

Their pool tech emptied 1/4 the water of my pool in error, which washed mud in my yard. Almost ruined by pump. I had to replace the filters and fix pool cover full of mud. They only offered to not charge me 2 months of service. Then they came back wanting to charge us to fix the mud issue in bottom in pool which wouldn't have occured except due to their error. This fiasco cost us over $1000 to repair. Highway Robbery!

We moved into a rental back in August 2024 and the owners were already using Vintage. Since then we’ve had really great experience with them, they always come the same day every week, even in the winter when it’s raining! Recently the pool vacuum hadn’t been working and they were still able to do such a great job at cleaning up the pool! Very happy with the service 😊

Vintage Pool and Spa has been absolutely incredible, and I want to give a special thanks to John Ford for the amazing work he does. John always keeps our pool and spa in tip-top, pristine condition, and it shows every time we step outside. He’s not only thorough and detail-oriented but also incredibly mindful of our backyard and treats our space with the utmost care.
John is consistently courteous, professional, and reliable—you can tell he takes great pride in his work. He’s a true asset to Vintage Pool and Spa, and we’re so grateful for his dedication. If you’re looking for a team that delivers outstanding service and someone you can trust, John Ford and Vintage Pool and Spa are the best around! -
I’ve used Vintage Pool in Manteca before with no issues. When I re-rented my house and changed tenants in August, I set up service again the same exact way as last time. For four months, there were no calls, no emails to me, and no indication of any problem.
Now, four months later, I suddenly get a call saying I owe $500. On top of that, I found out they were emailing the wrong person, not me. That is unacceptable and unprofessional.
If there was an issue with payment or service, it should have been communicated immediately—not months later. I am now requesting detailed service records, including dates of service and a breakdown of chemicals used, because I want to understand what I’m being charged for.
Poor communication, incorrect billing contact, and delayed notification make this a frustrating experience. I expect better accountability from a professional pool service company. -
I highly recommend Angels pool & Spa. The owner Efrain personally services our pool ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐. Efrain is trustworthy which is important. Your letting a stranger into your back yard. I have 3 younger kids so it was important to my wife and I to feel comfortable with who we let on the property. Not to mention Efrain know exactly what chemicals to use to keep the pool clear which is important to us.
