Scudder Roofing and Solar is tops! They installed a new roof with solar and whole-house battery backup for us. They were very professional, thorough, patient (we had tons of questions, given the complexity of the project), and reliable. They take great pride in their work and most of all they care about their customers.

it is so rare these days to find a company that does a fine job of staying in touch, showing up on time, completing the job well, and being thoughtful. Scuddeer Solar Energy Systems was a delight to work with. Everyone---from the office staff to the installers were friendly, thoughtful, thorough, and totally professional. Even more amazing, is that their bid for installing my Tesla Power Wall system was the cheapest of the five that i sourced. I recommend them without hesitation.

Must say they were very professional and did a great job of keeping us informed and doing clean up. We have not yet applied for rebates or experienced any other questions. More details later….I am sure we will have some. Just wanted to add, their staff is amazing! They answer phones, questions, and accommodate when just show up! A true old time accommodating company. I installed solar on my roof and I was very impressed with the professionalism of the Scudder team. They are experts in project management and kept me informed about the process the whole way through. I love not paying for electricity - the panels work great and the app keeps me informed on their performance. I highly recommend Scudder!

Only Santa Cruz area provider to respond for SPAN panel installation. Thorough, worked diligently for two days ensuring we had power in the night in between days and delivered on-time. Cleaned up and made aesthetic repairs where needed before leaving.

For this project, we worked with your 9 teams total! So amazingly EVERY TEAM had provided such high quality, professional, consistent, services, clear, timely, friendly and cheerful communications with us!

As many companies they perform good from 1 to 8, but very rare a company able to provide services cradle to cradle in EVERY area from every team and every personnel!

In your contract, you were very detail to list down your services, promises and what a homeowner should expect. Every team we worked with they were ALL out performed!!!!!!

Here are few mile stones that amazed us and greatly appreciated:

1. 8/14/2024 Our initial contact to Andrew Lezin. We quested to complete the entire project by end of 2024 but only could start the work after 11/18/2024 (we were out of town)
2. 11/20/2024 electrical team started
3. 11/21/2024 solar team started
4. 12/17/2024 City passed the inspection for the system and Scudder submitted inspection request to PGE
5. 12/28/2024 PGE approved the system and we were interconnected with Scudder team’s cheerful email notification to us!

I would like to have special thanks to Andrew who bought us to know and end up to sign the contract with Scudder. he had our very tight time schedule request clearly addressed to your team and you make it!

I would like to have special thanks to Rosanna who provided detail, knowledgeable but understandable language to answer our questions. (so many technical stuff to learn). She knows when should use email but when she need to pick up the photo to explain to me. It is critical to help us to make our right decision!

The solar team is so great by watching them follow exactly the company set protocols every day!

The electrical team also especially helpful to help us to set up the Tesla APP and walked us through the detail and patiently answer our millions of questions!

I have known Pete Scudder for at least 20 years. Before I retired, Scudder Roofing was the only roofer I used. When I decided to have solar installed, there was only one solar company I would have do the work and that was Scudder Solar. They explained the process as they did the installation so I understood what to expect. They worked efficiently and were neat and cleaned up as they progressed. The panels are producing great electricity. We should end up close to zero dollars when we get our true-up from PG&E. We are very happy with the installation and would recommend Scudder Solar for anyone who is thinking of installing solar.

Scudder Solar did a great job. They were neat and tidy and worked with us to do a remarkable install. The front office folks were just as professional as the installers.

I had a Tesla power wall installed. It was a very complicated project w/ many moving parts involving the utility company, the County planning department, Fire department, Tesla, and Scudder. They handle all the issues, appointments, permits, scheduling, and installation, and kept me informed. Not only was the job done competently, all the people were always available, helpful. and pleasant all through the project. The owner deserves credit for running a very good business. I'm so impressed, I added solar panels. They then helped me handle the recalcitrant PG+E. Today I got the final OK from them.

Mission Accomplished two months early:
Excellent work done by Scudder team members Alex and Rosanna saved us a huge amount of inconvenience and daily stress, performing all the work to get our Powerwall 3 Battery System on-line and operating perfectly.
We live where PG&E outages readily occur and can take days to correct.  Scudder came to our rescue.  We are forever thankful.

From the first contact with Scudder, the entire organization was friendly, courteous and very knowledgable.
Everything was completed as planned and we have been very happy with the results.
We were dismayed, however, to discover that the rebates so enthusiastically talked about were not actually possible for us to receive. That part of the sales pitch needs to be made absolutely clear for future customers. Luckily we did get a sizable tax break at the Federal level, which made up for the earlier disappointment.

My combo Solar Panel + Franklin Power Wall was just completed by Scudder a few days. And I just had a "flawless" power restore two days ago when my power went out. My project was laborious, tedious and complex. Every single member of the team who worked on my project was incredible. All were extremely smart, exceptionally polite, very conscientious and very hard working. They were also very respectful of me and my home as a client. Working with them was truly a pleasure. This project was my second with Scudder and I cannot recommend this company highly enough. Thank you!

Scudder has installed two Tesla Wall in the last two years and more recently a new roof top solar array. Quality work, daily onsite clearing and constant updates. Highly recommended...but hurry before Federal tax credits disappear...sadly.

A very fair and honest company. There was a little problem in the language of their proposal which was corrected voluntarily. You could not have that experience with many companies. Scudder is the best!

Sold me a solar system that isn’t working properly but refuses to address the problem
Several of the micro inverters failed and they refuse to replace them. The system was installed in 2019 and in 2024 the issue was discovered.
They actually told me to try and find parts on eBay and pay someone to install
Quotes from other companies estimate $10,000 to replace all of the inverters
The warranty is 10 years but they are not honoring it
If you have a problem with your system good luck with them repairing it

Have you ever had an experience when a contractor or a vendor went the extra mile for you to make sure you were satisfied and the work was well done. It doesn't happen often enough, but I can say our Tesla battery install that was done by Scudder Solar Electrical Energy Systems was 5 star +. From the start to the finish, communication was clear.. answers to issues were handled properly and, the most courteous workmen we've had in our house for a long time did incredible work. If you need a solar system, a battery or a roof and you're in the Monterey Bay area look no further for your best choice provider. Hats off to Javier and team for a job well done.

We cannot say enough good things about our solar experience with Scudder Solar, they did everything they said they would and kept me abreast of the progress via email, every one of their employees that entered my property...from start to finish...was a good quality person, and a great asset for the company.

The people at Scudder Solar are exceptional at all levels. The people consulting and quoting to installation and commissioning are all top level and very knowledgeable. They are up to date with pg&e requirements and very helpful with signing up to the rebate programs. If you choose to work with Scudder you have selected a great group of solar installers.

I have worked with Scudder Solar 2 times. Once to put solar panels on my roof and recently to add the Tesla Power Wall.
They are very organized and are good at communicating with what is going to happen next. They were prompt at meeting appointment times and clean up after the work was done. The power wall worked the first day it was turned on. The second day there was a 10-hour power outage and I was never out of power during the entire time. Scudder thanks for a great job.

The team was professional, focused, hard working and non stop during the entire day of installation. Since this is the second time we have used Scudder's services (the first for a re-roofing job and now the solar installation ) we were impressed with how they worked from start to finish. The house was cleaned of all debris post installation and the men were friendly and competent on both occasions. Importantly, that even includes rapid responses to emails to the front office relative to our questions during the process. Sometimes it’s the little things that generate the most attention. It was comforting to know that I had Scudder's attention to our concerns which generated confidence the job would be run correctly . All in all it was a great experience...
