Everything about Good Life Restoration is outstanding and I am so grateful that my insurance agent recommended GLR for repairing my condominium after severe winter storm damage. GLR does quality workmanship in a timely fashion and at competitive cost. GLR communication is unparalleled with daily updates and helpful suggestions which was appreciated as I was distant from the jobsite. All personnel were unwaveringly affable and eager to help. Mark Kobrya, a manager and my main contact throughout the restoration, picked up on the first ring when I called him unaware that he was on vacation with his family. From the planning stages, material selection, implementation and every point that there were issues or problems he worked hand-in-hand with us to overcome any hurdles and was very helpful, thorough and professional in all that he and his team did. Even when difficult things presented themselves that were outside the scope of a normal job. Andrey proved that he was extremely helpful, understanding and resourceful. He found a way to get the job done not matter what and did not cut any corners to do so. Not only did they complete before the predicted time but they worked hand-in-hand with the city of Davis on difficult permitting issues and were able to solve them even when it did not look like the situation was easy to solve. If you are still reading this review I’d like to be clear to the reader to know that the finished product they produced was above and beyond the quality of the house before the fire. I will recommend Good Life Fire Restoration of North Highlands to anyone who is in need of a fire rebuild or in general for any contracting work. Good Life Restoration is all around AMAZING and exactly what you need when you need help like we did after a bedroom fire. The Employee Victor was a standout because of his genuine caring and compassionate help and for always being available for any questions or concerns I had throughout the process. He was incredible from start to end and made the worst event to happen to me and my family into something that was possible to get through and see the light on the other side with good life restoration and Victors help!

He was prompt to reply to any questions. Stayed in touch with updates and any changes. And stayed on top of everything that made the process easy and smooth from start to end. We seriously couldn’t have done it without him!

Good life restoration started off on a good note when dispatched to an emergency pipe leak that caused damage throughout my home. When it came to the asbestos testing they came and picked up all their equipment, conducted the testing February 15th claiming to have my results by February 18th; to never be heard of again. There was no phone call, no voicemails or texts, no email, absolutely no update. I called and left voicemails and was never able to reach them again. I ending up having to find another company after stalling for a week and a half to hear back. Leaving my home in it’s unlivable condition. I’d be safe than sorry then to rely on good life restoration to complete the job from start to finish.

I can't say enough great things about the Gentleman and ladies of Good Life! From start to finish David and Mark did a great job with setting everything up and always being there to answer any questions I had promptly. If you want your project done right the first time at a competitive price,Goodlife is the way to go!! A+++

My wife and I just completed a 2 year process where we completely rebuilt and added new square footage to our duplex. Our duplex was destroyed by a fire. It took 2 years to rebuild because of dealing with the insurance company and the biggest culprit. - dealing with the local city government. Goodlife, our contractor, was extremely helpful during this time period. They did their best in handling the demands of all the government entities and moving the project along.

All this was very confusing and frustrating for us. Particularly in trying to track the finances. This is where we came to rely on Mark (Goodlife’s estimator). He was able to clearly and precisely track the material and labor costs and guide us through the numerous financial decisions we had to make. So a big thanks to Mark and the entire Goodlife Construction team.

Mark was professional, honest, and dedicated, and I could tell he genuinely had my best interest in mind. I’m very grateful for his help and would highly recommend him and the Good Life team to anyone who needs their services.

This inconsistency is exactly why I felt uneasy during the process, and why I shared my experience — to help future clients be fully informed.

🚩 (REVIEW) Dishonest, Corner-Cutting, and Manipulative

We initially hired this restoration company after they promised us permits would be pulled, discounts on materials, and that all selections would be made before any demolition started. They said the right things and presented themselves as professional — but their behavior quickly changed after we signed the bid.

Once their contractor came out to assess the rebuild, their story shifted. Suddenly, they wanted to demo the home before we had chosen materials, before a rebuild plan was finalized, and without permits, despite the job involving over $20,000 worth of work in a condo with shared plumbing and walls — which absolutely requires proper permits. When questioned, they made excuses and claimed permits weren’t necessary for “small jobs.” This was an obvious attempt to cut corners and avoid accountability.

Even worse, they planned to send their rebuild crew in at the same time as the demo team, likely to avoid permit scrutiny and speed through the job without proper oversight. When we pushed back, they became evasive, rude, tried to mansplain and clearly just wanted to rush through the demolition, get paid, and leave us with the burden of delays, unapproved plans, and potentially unpermitted work — all while we’re still living in the home.

They also admitted that we were one of their few cash clients — meaning they had no understanding or respect for a client paying out of pocket. They tried hard-sell tactics to get us to visit their showroom and commit to materials before we even had clear plans. It felt more like dealing with a used car salesman than a trusted restoration contractor.

The company’s contractors license is valid, but I recommend verifying that the individual contractors they send are properly licensed and that their license numbers match, as I’ve seen cases in the industry where some companies have had issues with misrepresented licenses. My dad, a retired building code inspector with over 20 years of experience, has encountered situations like this before, so it’s something to be cautious about.”

They only have about 30 reviews — and I’d take those with a grain of salt. This is a real, unpaid, and honest review: be very careful before you hire this company, even if your insurance is covering the job. We canceled our contract before they could demo because the red flags were just too big to ignore.

I recently had the pleasure of working with Goodlife Construction Company on my kitchen restoration project, and I cannot express enough how grateful I am for the entire team.

Good Life stopped by after I had a fire the company I had with a shitty company the insurance sent out and I got to talk into a gentleman by the name of Dimitry. He went above beyond and made it an excellent experience from a bad experience. We got Good Life out here and we are never Had a problem. We are so happy with the results. They were great and they held my hand through all of it helped me deal with the insurance companies and all of it. They were perfect. This companies the first company that came out at all 100,000 wow after Goodlife got done we’re at 300 and they did it all and it is beautiful highly recommend them.my project manager Leo was on it if you have a problem, you should get a hold of them.
