We wanted to create a garden & patio area in an unused portion of our lot. It needed to an new retaining wall, irrigation, trees, stairs and vegetation. The quotes we had been given were incredibly high. Mark did it for half the price. He finished on time in 2 weeks. The quality of work was excellent. We are very happy.

We moved into our home in 2020, and the yard we inherited had been fully xeriscaped by the previous owners. While water-friendly, it left us with a landscape that felt harsh—river rock covering nearly every inch, a scattering of boulders, and little of the softness that makes an outdoor space inviting. For years, we dreamed of transforming it into something that better fit our lifestyle, a place where our family (and dog!) could relax and play.

Eventually, we started shoveling up the rock ourselves just to get a sense of the scope. Once we crossed the “point of no return,” we knew it was time to call in the pros. That’s when we turned to Thumbtack, reaching out to five companies and meeting with four.

From the very beginning, Brady Landscaping & Construction stood out. While every vendor measured and listened, Brady went a step further. They invested more time on-site than all the others combined and took the initiative to collaborate with us—refining our vision and offering thoughtful, practical suggestions that elevated the plan. We received bids ranging from $7,500 to $10,900, and ultimately chose Brady based on their professionalism, reputation, and the trust they built with us through the process. Our project included:

Removing all remaining river rock and mulch

Grading the side yard

Adding a flagstone landing at the bottom of the stairs

Reworking large stones in the side yard

Relocating existing ornamental grasses and planting new ones

Installing a new irrigation system with 5 zones

Sodding the rear and side yards

Adding mulch around the patio and border areas

The project took about a week and a half and came in at $10,900. Now, three weeks later, we couldn’t be more thrilled. The sod looks beautiful, the irrigation is working flawlessly, and the entire space feels transformed—softer, greener, and infinitely more inviting.

I'm rating this contractor two stars and may update it later. Trying to reach out for a quote. Looked up their contractor license at the state board and saw that the license number was revoked in July of 2021 and is not allowed to contract. Perhaps they have updated their license but not put it on their website. I hope they have an explanation for this.
