HVAC reviews in Rio Linda, California

This is the most UNPROFESSIONAL company I have ever dealt with. Being a Property Management Company, who contracts with American Home Shield, this would be the LAST company I would ever deal with. Maria was foul mouthed and vulgar, very unprofessional, she is supposedly the Owner of this company. They were contracted to do a job and they have yet to finish it. Scheduled with them to stop by the office and pick up the key to a vacant unit, to finish their job, was told it would cost me an additional $100 for them to pick up the key to finish their job. They literally have to drive by the office to get to the job. If I could give less than 1 star I would.

I called up REO to fix my heater. The heater needed parts so they ran out to the parts house right then so my family would have heat that night. I would definitely call this company again!!! Thank-you REO for going the extra mile for our family in a time of need!!!!!

Dealt with American Home Shield problems with sending the wrong equipment which was installed by REO who discovered the problem and negotiated for the right equipment. Shielded me from paying costs of AHS and REO mistakes, and did a professional job including fixing problems created by a previous REO contractor. The job was contracted in June and completed Oct. 30. I have a physical condition that is adversely affected by both heat and cold. They listened to what the delays meant for me and responded appropriatly within their powder to do so. Ashley, Jose, and Isaac were exemplorary in taking responsibility and in completing the work professionally.

REO Mechanical is your company for HVAC! REO Mechanical was able to come out the same day and trouble shoot our problem with our AC. Ashley was professional, friendly and prompt in fitting us in the schedule. She kept us updated each step of the way which was amazing! The technician, Jason, was also professional and took his time to explain what was occurring. He was very knowledgeable.
Overall we will be giving REO Mechanical our business moving forward for all of our HVAC needs! -
REO was a great company to work with. When my AC stopped blowing out cold air, they came and fixed it within a reasonable time. All the technicians and office staff were very friendly and caring!

After waiting 7 days for the appt. with a broken AC and 90+ degree weather, the technician came to my house and needed to come inside to access the furnace. I asked him to wear his personal protective gear and to wipe down his ladder with a disinfectant wipe before coming into my home since we are in the middle of a global pandemic. He proceeded to put on his gear and then said that he wished to decline service to me because I was being unreasonable. He left. The company called me the next day demanding a service fee and told me that (and I will quote!) “You created chaos to his day by requesting him to wear his personal protective gear. You should have removed your children from your home prior to him arriving if it was an issue.” It is clear that they have zero regard for customer safety. The fact they demanded a service fee and did not complete their service is beyond me. I will be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau. I do not recommend them and I do not trust them. As a business owner myself that interacts with the public, I have gone beyond my duty to follow the CDC recommended guidelines to keep our community safe as well as my employees. I would like to note that I have clean, unused (still packaged) personal protective gear in my home I could’ve offered him if it was an issue of not having it. It wasn’t a matter of not having a mask and gloves, it was a matter of refusal to wear them but still demanding money.

EDITING TO ADD A RESPONSE TO REO'S RESPONSE (06/25/20)
Dear REO Mechanical,
I can assure you that my emotional state is well in tact. As a young, healthy woman who mediates and workouts daily, runs my own (successful) business and lives in a very happy household with my family, I have had little to no effect with my day-to-day in this global pandemic. What has affected me is my AC not working and it's 100 degrees outside. My 2 year and 4 year old are sleeping in rooms that are 80 degrees at night.
Here are THE FACTS:
1. Covid is a real. 2. CDC guidelines recommend disinfecting surfaces commonly touched. 3. The CDC recommends wearing personal protective gear (I have included screenshots for your reference taken from the CDC's website). 4. Although you stated otherwise, your technician did not wipe down his (very dirty looking) ladder. He started to put on his protective gear and then decided it was an unreasonable request. As he turned to leave he mumbled "I don't want to give you service because you will sue me if you get sick and I don't want to put my company through that". I could barely hear him as he scurried away.
Why in the world would a professional say something like that?
When your office called me the next day to collect payment for services NOT rendered, I told the woman the tech refused service and I need to get someone back out. She told me "You created chaos to his day by requesting him to wear his personal protective gear. You should have removed your children from your home prior to him arriving if it was an issue.” On the side of her technician's unjust behavior, she too refused to work with me, but still demanded payment. In fact, they have called several times for payment on services not rendered.
REO Mechanical, while you tell me I am defaming you, I encourage you to take a good look at yourselves and the opinions you've drawn on me and expressed on my public google account. While your ethics and company standards are put in question, it is based on factual circumstances. In fact, your response back to me is all emotion, belittling and derogatory assumptions towards my character. In addition, you're not being truthful about the circumstance of events. I too am a business owner and as it turns out you have stated your opinions of me in a defaming way, in a public space.
I will be reporting you to the Better Business Bureau. -
DO NOT CALL! They were the vendor through our home warranty. They were suppose to contact us within 24 hrs, after a week of not hearing from them, we called. Sent out someone to check who determined we needed a new motor for our a/c they would order and let us know when it came in. After 3 more weeks of not hearing anything we called them and set up an appointment and were told that it would be an additional charge of $139. Called the home warranty company who said they were not authorized to charge us anything other than our initial service fee. Another 2 weeks have gone by and still no call to set up installation appointment. Guess it doesn't matter now anyway since we don't even need a/c anymore!

Ashley has always gone above and beyond to make sure my system was doing what it should. REO stepped in when another company was falling short, and they were quick to respond, professional, and efficient. I would definitely recommend this company.

Went through my home warranty to get my A/C unit fixed and it was such a hassle to go through but Reo Mechanical made the process for me as smooth as possible ! Ashley went above and beyond to get the repairs approved to be covered by my warranty company. And even better did the quote/repairs in a timely manner. Its a no brainer who I will call in the future to do any type of work when it comes to my HVAC appliances. Thank You Reo Mechanical for being professional and honoring your word!

Bad service. They never call back to follow up with you and you are the one who has to call them. Also, they overcharge for doing services and when you ask them for an invoice, they give you the most stupid invoice ever. My home warranty didn't cover the R22 recharge and they asked me to pay over $400 out of pocket just for that. When I was paying over the phone, I asked them to email me an invoice and few minutes later they sent me an invoice that was just simply saying unit needed R22 and at the bottom says $405 is due!
I emailed them to send me an invoice with breakdown of all services and also the ones that my home warranty has covered, they didn't get back to me. Also, it took 12 days to fix my unit completely and the whole time I had to call my home warranty and REO mechanical to follow up and also remind them that I need my A/C working in summertime.
Don't recommend them at all, even if your home warranty referred you to them, ask them to change the contractor. -
We were very pleased with the service from REO. They were assigned to us through our home warranty company. REO called us to set up a service call and arrived during the specified time frame. The repairman was professional and fixed the problem. He explained what the problem was. There were no surprises and no extra charges. Thank you for the great service!

HEAT WAVE, and our air conditioner breaks! REO gave us great communication and were out the next work day. Repairman was knowledgeable (thanks J.V.) and helpful; had our part right in his truck, and got us back "in the cool" in one visit! The house had gotten up to 95 degrees, so we are extremely grateful! I would recommend this company to anyone.

My home warranty service assigned them to us and I glad. Ashley got us scheduled in at the last minute for the next day. She was very understanding and made it work which I most appreciate. The technician Mike showed up on time and was very professional. He diagnosed the problem in minutes and got straight to work. Had all the equipment and parts and knowledge of what he was doing and got it done in no time. While working on my a/c he gave me tips on things to do to keep ac working and things to look out for when I decide to replace the unit. I highly recommended this company because of my experience with them and will make sure to ask for them again in the future if i need it. And ask for Mike if he's available....Great Technician...

with a lot of these companies you see either 1 or 5 star reviews. my experience through the home warranty process was that they told me ___ (another business) would be calling me, but 2 days later and no call they reassigned us to REO and gave me their number. they called me before i had a chance to call them! Nick and Mikey showed up out of Vacaville and it honestly took them longer to drive to me than it did to replace a motor and get back on the road. thanks, guys

I was feeling really frustrated my air conditioner had been down for a week 😡 so I decided to call Reo and Ashley was amazing she went above and beyond for me she tracked my order and she kept me on the loop. I really appreciate people like Ashley to make this experience so easy!! That’s customer service-with Reo has been amazing thru the whole process!! Ashley is a great asset to this company.

Worst experience, DO NOT RECOMMEND. Michael came to our home after we requested service through our home warranty. He said the problem was a part, changed it and said it was all fixed. He never came back into the home to check if our concern was addressed. I felt the air still blowing cold air so I went to address my concerns with him.
I asked him if it’s something that works instantaneously and shared with him that the air inside appeared to be still be blowing cold air. He scoffed at me, and said “we’ll the fans will turn on…” and some other things. I shared I was confused, and if he can explain it again. He scoffed, postured his body, and said “YOU CAN HAVE YOUR HUSBAND EXPLAIN IT TO YOU.” Excuse me…..I said No, I’m asking you to explain it to me. He then postured his hands on his hips and said “WELL YOU’RE CALLING ME A LIAR AND” then my husband stepped in and said no she didn’t. At this point I’m uncomfortable at how rude he’s been and want to prevent further unnecessary escalation (on his behalf, as he is continuing to be disrespectful and raise his tone of voice). I ASKED HIM TO LEAVE MY HOME, He stood there with his arms on his hips, said nothing, and remain standing there. I ASKED HIM TO LEAVE MY HOME FOR A SECOND TIME, at this point I see this as harassment and refusal, so I walk away from him as does my husband, and start to close our garage door when I FINALLY SEE HIM WALKING AWAY. I now have a heating system that is not fixed and have to go through the hassle of going through my home warranty once more. I have no interest in follow up from this company.
Also Maria the owner is UNPROFESSIONAL immature person who left me a condescending voicemail after I requested a phone call to address their employee who harassed us and did not fix the issue.
SAVE YOURSELF FROM DISRESPECT, UNPROFFESSIONALISM, and AVOID THEM. -
Just had Michael out to assess our AC issues. Turns out we will need a new unit entirely, as our current one is ancient. Michael came out in 110 degree heat, and we are so grateful for that. Most of all, I want to give a huge thank you and recognize Ashley in the front office, who was so kind and funny and helpful when I called with an emergency AC issue. Ashley was able to get me an appointment during this horrific heat wave, and she was very professional and FUNNY, which I VERY much appreciated. Thank you Ashley and Michael!

REO Mechanical technician was fantastic and very responsive. He listened me carefully, understood the need and for my Whole house heater working on same day. He was very respectful and transparent.
Keep us good work REO and thank you.
It does make lots of difference with service and quality. -
The receptionist Ashley was Quick and courteous on scheduling an appointment! And Jennifer was more than patient with collecting our service fee when i lost my checkbook. Also wanted to rave about Ben, great tuneup and very friendly! 5 stars from me!

REO Installed my A/C last year and missed 7 points on the inspection. We have been told we are lucky our house didn't burn down last winter due to improper fuses placed for the unit. To fix this we have since made 3 appointments and they have yet to show for any of them.
The first excuse was that they were 'overbooked'. The receptionist told us we were the first appointment that day while the tech told us he had 3 appointments ahead of us and couldn't make it before 5pm.
The second excuse was that the 'tech called in sick'. Again we were the 8am appointment and we received this call from Paul the 'General Manager' at 4:30pm. We rescheduled with Paul for 12pm the next day and he assured us he would be there at Noon on the dot.
The third excuse was no excuse. Paul called me at 12:30pm saying he was at the shop and the box containing our parts was missing a piece. He asked if we still wanted his tech to come out and do what they can or if we wanted to reschedule. I told him in no uncertain terms that I wanted someone at my house fixing this issue ASAP. He said someone would be there in 60-90 minutes. 5 Hours later I called and hit his voicemail. He has not answered or returned my calls since.
I have learned from my Home Warranty company that REO has been dropped from their list as a contractor due to shoddy repairs, missed appointments and problems with work orders. They have a new company coming to fix REO's mistakes this week.
Just look at the reviews below. All 1 stars and the exact same issues...
Good riddance.. -
My home warranty introduced me to REO mechanical when I needed my ductwork looked at, and although the home warranty didn’t cover damage crime rodents Ashley sent out A ductwork design specialist as soon as she could. Maria was amazing, so patient and wasn’t afraid to get her hands dirty!! She had the install crew out the next week, another thank you to Ben, Wyatt, and Preston!!
