He was professional, reliable, thorough, and clearly knew what he was doing. I’m beyond happy with the outcome and truly grateful for his excellent work. Tyler is the person I will call for any of the HVAC issues from now on.

Mountain House Mechanical just completed installing a Mitsubishi Heat Pump and Rheem Hybrid Heat Pump, and I couldn't be happier with the system and the installation process. Mountain House was fantastic! Tyler presented three options and took the time to explain the differences between them. Tyler and Gabe were very professional and a pleasure to work with. Mikayla, who runs the office, made sure all paperwork was filled out correctly so I would receive any rebates. I would highly recommend!

Easily one of the best companies I've ever dealt with. We replaced our old HVAC system with a Heat Pump+AC and received a handful of quotes from other companies. Tyler and Gabe were professional, competitive, educational, transparent, and reliable. The other companies simply paled in comparison to their attention to detail and approach. Tyler from Mountain House did an amazing job replacing the blower in our heater. He came all the way from Santa Rosa to Sea Ranch to do the diagnosis, and then offered to come back the same night (after it was already dark!) to replace the blower after he got the part back in Santa Rosa. He was super easy to talk to, gave me a fair price, and refused my offer to pay him extra for the multiple trips out to Sea Ranch. Will definitely use again when we have any heat issues.

As an engineer/inspector, I am very selective with my contractors. When the owner, Tyler, showed up for an estimate, he was very professional and provided three options. His prices were very reasonable and he suggested the best systems for our house.

I decided to go with Mountain House Mechanical based on their professional knowledge and price. The system I chose was the most expensive option with a five-zone ductless heat pump system with a 48K BTU outside unit with a 5-port branch box, four ceiling head units, and one wall head unit.

For the installation, Tylor arrived with a technician, Ryan. They covered the work area with blankets and cleaned the area each day after work by sweeping and mopping. After the installation, they showed me how to operate and maintain the unit. The noise level is very low and I can hardly hear them going.
My wife and I are very happy with the system's performance and installation process.

I highly recommend Mountain House Mechanical for any heat-pump heating/AC installation. If I could give more stars, I would give them 10 stars.

Mountain House was fantastic to work with, from the assessment and bidding process with Tyler to the installation with Gabe, they were communicative, friendly and knowledgeable. Gabe was particularly impressive, doing so much work in so little time. We had been without heat for over 2 weeks and they got us on the schedule as soon as we let them know we were going with them to do the work. Gabe took out all of the old ductwork, removed the 35 year old heater and installed a 3 unit mini split system in 3 days. We couldn’t be happier!

Mountain House Mechanical was excellent from start to finish. They gave me a straightforward, no-nonsense estimate, recommended the right equipment for my situation, and didn’t try to upsell anything I didn’t need. It was refreshingly professional.

Scheduling was fast — they were able to install my new heat pump in less than a week. The crew showed up exactly when they said they would, worked efficiently, and finished in the time frame they promised. No surprises, no drama.

Because a heat pump behaves differently from my old gas heater, I wanted a few adjustments after living with it for a bit. Tyler came back out, listened to what I was experiencing, made the tweaks on the spot, and dialed everything in perfectly.

Great communication, solid work, and excellent follow-through. I wouldn’t hesitate to use Mountain House Mechanical again.

This review of Volkman is actually a five star review for two (2) different work experiences. The second, the most recent, is the installation of a new HVAC system, while for the first was for a repair job a couple of years ago.

Second Project (Most Recent):
This review is for work performed by Randy and his journeyman in late summer of 2024. They removed an old furnace and AC condenser, and installed in their places, a HVA system based on heat and cool pump technology, as I understand it. Because our home is two-story, two thermostat/controllers were put in, allowing us to reduce our energy cost while having plenty of comfort. The work was done to my satisfaction, on time, without change orders, and it’s been six months and everything is working great.

First Project (2023):
I am very grateful for Randy of Volkman Heating and Air. Very reasonable, honest, professional and smart. We were at the close of escrow after the home sat for a very long time, and the furnace, fireplace ignitor and gas heater stopped working. It would've been easy for him to start replacing parts or saying we needed a new system as the equipment is aging, but he found wasp nest blocking the furnace flu, a bird nest blocking the air intake to the wall heater and cast some amazing magic at the fireplace ignitor.

Randy and his crew installed a 4 zone mini-split system at my house. They were professional, efficient, and did great work. I didn’t want the outdoor unit or line covers visible from the front of the house, so they mounted the outdoor unit on the side and ran lines through the attic for a ceiling mounted indoor unit, lines underneath the deck, and lines through the crawl space. It looks very clean. I highly recommend.
