I would like to change from 1 star to 5 stars. I just want to say, the people I have dealt with are amazing. I had some issues after installation and I called Bettina and she was on top of it. Her and Nate are two of the best people you could ever want to deal with. The owner of the company is pretty amazing as well. He took care of me and my issue, quickly. Thank you Ilum Solar for caring about your customers the way you do, and thank you from the bottom of my heart Nate and Bettina, you two are amazing!

The people at Ilum Solar installed my solar system and I could not recommend a company more highly. My project was a complex residential installation requiring two inverters and 47 solar Panels to handle the loads for the property. Robert, the company owner and engineer is amazing. He let me know right off that we needed to be circumspect as to how much load to put on this system, but it functions perfectly and has provided power for my family during power outages which are not uncommon in my area. After a recent power outage one of my inverters failed to restart properly causing one of our three backup batteries to lose its charge. I called Ilum to report the problem and they were out the very same day correcting the problem and putting the system in perfect working order. Oh, and I have not had a PG&E bill since installation. I Also received a substantial tax credit on the solar system. Basically, a big win, win. I no longer live in fear of the evil PG&E PSPSs

Would have been a 5, but read on.
Had ilum solar do a solar system on my roof and had no trouble initially, then had 1 issue with them regarding MPU (master panel upgrade). That issue resulted in the county and PG&E not signing off it in a timely fashion. The sales person, who is no longer with them, made a promise to pay 2 months of payments if the system was not signed off. Well it wasn't and 1 payment was made and no issue. 2nd month came and issue began. Long story short is after speaking to current supervisor it was made right.

I recently had Ilum Solar add 3.8 kW of solar panels to our roof, complementing the 4.8 kW system we had installed by a different company 12 years ago. In addition, we wanted a home battery system installed. Ilum recommended the Sonnen battery and we went with the Eco10 product. Bottom line: Ilum did a great job. They did the work very quickly and very professionally. They communicated with us regularly before, during, and after completion of the work. The solar panels had a problem a few days after installation due to heavy rains. Ilum dispatched someone the day after I called to fix the problem, and they assured us it will not happen again. We've had a number of questions about how to optimize the settings on our Sonnen battery, and Ilum has been very helpful in getting the questions answered. I recommend this company very highly.

From the very beginning the Solar Representative Brandon Barnett has been kind, genuine, informative, resourceful and on our side! We then are in the hands of Ilum Solar and Sharonda I feel has been exceptional with responding to me on time and answering all concerns or questions pertaining our Solar project. The crew that came to our home to do the Solar installation and everyone included, The Electrician and the Surveyor were all polite, respectful, knowledgeable and an absolute pleasure to work with. As home owner we are confident we did the right thing with right people and we are Grateful to everyone involved.

BEWARE this company is all about the sale. They will sell to anyone including the elderly and demented. They don’t respond to requests for help. I asked them many times not to sell to my husband because he had dementia but they ignored me. I told the salesman I would not sign and I didn’t. It didn’t matter. It was installed when I was gone. Now my husband is in long term memory care facility, doesn’t remember doing this and I’m stuck with a $295 bill each month for?? My husband insisted the roof was free. I didn’t believe that but no one would verify. I have no contract that I can find so I don’t even know how long I’ll be paying and for what? Roof? Panels? My utility bill hasn’t changed. It’s still $350 a month plus the $295. Please be careful dealing with these people!!

These Ilum Solar folks were fantastic! Quite reasonable on price with outstanding quality of work and incredible customer service. They were thorough, professional, and communicative. We now have a wonderful solar photovoltaic system with seemingly magical battery backup. We are very happy customers and give Ilum Solar our highest recommendation!

Absolutely fantastic company. I rarely write reviews unless it's truly warranted; and, in in this case, it definitely is with Ilum.

I reached out to Ilum and Robert Dean got back to me in a matter of minutes. I'd consider myself someone who has enough knowledge to be dangerous when it comes to solar... I have had many companies quote me a system setup over the years. Additionally, I had been doing copious research on DIY and wholesale kits, as I couldn't fathom paying the typical high markup that most of the big name solar companies charge for on the system array let alone the install.

Not only did Robert answer all of my questions about building an array (pros and cons of certain manufacturers, inverter vs. micro-inverters, installation time-frames, etc.), he also had a great referral who was competitive in their offering for a specific array setup I was looking for. I had a 6.9 KW system delivered to my house in no time (Robert even offered to have it delivered to their warehouse in case I didn't want it to take up space in the garage - talk about great service!).

Shortly thereafter, the Ilum crew came to install it - which - literally took 1.5 days. That was unreal! The crew was friendly, knowledgeable, and most importantly, didn't cut any corners. My dog, Bruno, even became their best friend when I would come out to check-in with the crew throughout the day.

Robert kept me well-informed on the permit process and all of the next steps from beginning to end. They even offered to paint the piping conduit the trim color of my house at no charge. Impressive, to say the least.

It's rare to find a solar company that is as open and honest as Ilum is. I am incredibly please by the price, quality, and speed in which they operate. You can tell the whole team takes pride in what they do and the work shows.

I'm a customer for life and will be referring my family and friends to the Ilum team.

We had a great experience with Ilum Solar. The installation was fast and the system looks great, really professional job. I went out for 5 quotes from companies here in Sacramento and Tyler Thomason's quote was the most professionally formatted and had the best $/kWh price.

I originally was going to go with a different solar company. However, they were taking 3 months to have an install completed and I needed this done asap. I got in contact with Ben at Ilum Solar and said they could start the project asap. Thanks to him and his company I was able to have my solar installed in time to meet the deadline. Recently had a solar job installed at my house by the Ilum solar team. Very easy process when it comes to picking the solar system. Pretty much just needed an inspection of my roof and my previous PG& E bills. Had a new roof and some electrical upgrades done to my breaker panel as well. Very convenient to get it all done with one company. Would highly recommend to anyone looking at getting solar.

The system works GREAT! Because there was a surge of installs at the end of the year I had a little trouble contacting them but once I did, especially with Chad, my questions were addressed promptly and in detail. That is the only reason I didn't go 5 stars. As I said the system is great and so is Chad! I expect without that end of year surge it would have been 5 stars all around. I would give them a 4.5

I have been with this company for a couple years now.Having two solar systems inputted on my houses, they have a young man by the name of Chad. Who is absolutely wonderful? He is incredibly knowledgeable. He is very personable, he's a happy person and just means the world to me. He's been helping me with the tiny issues that I have had that I don't understand. I am not techie, he walks me through every single time he is absolutely phenomenal. Thank you chad.

Getting solar can be an intimidating process but I had a great experience with Continuum. The process was streamlined and every person I interacted with was professional and knowledgeable. When I had questions they were very prompt to answer. I appreciate that they are a local company as well, I would absolutely recommend using them if you are looking into getting solar and live in the Sacramento area.

I'm very happy with our new solar system from Contimuum. It has been great seeing my PG&E bill drop to almost nothing. The customer support from Chad has also been great- quick responses to all of my questions and help getting the most out of my system.

Working with Chad and the crews was just the best experience ever. Not just during re-roofing and installation, but in particular with aftercare and Customer Services. Answers are always just a single phone call away. They know their stuff and what strings to pull to resolve issues properly and for good. I can recommend them fulheartedly to anyone out there.
