Rafael Barajas at RB Construction repaired a post in our basement that had eroded. This was structural work that required multiple inspections. Rafael was very responsive and easy to communicate with, left the workspace clean and orderly daily, and we passed all the inspections without any issues.

I highly recommend Rafa and his team at RB Construction. Rafa was always on time and early, and coming to the job site every day of the week until the job is done. He kept things tidy, works fast while ensuring everything is solid and of good quality. His workmanship is impeccable. When we had miscommunications or disagreements, he worked with us to ensure we came to an agreement that worked for both. Doing work on a house is always a terrible experience and finding a good contractor is a tough call. RB will make the whole process as pleasant as it gets. RB was the sub on framing only for half of our remodel and we liked his work so much that we hired him as the GC on the second half of our remodel which involved significant structural and foundational work, as well as all plumbing, electrical and finishes.

We have done two projects with Rafael and his team (RB Construction). Our first project was a small dry rot repair which turned out to be a serious structural problem that was caused by the previous owner not hiring a proper contractor to perform the house extension. To add more problems, the house had termites previously and nothing was done to repair the termite rot that had gotten into some core structural beams. Rafael and his team were able to repair all of these problems in a timely fashion and with high quality to prevent this type of issue happening again.

The second project was much more straightforward. The city had cited us with a sidewalk repair. After our previous experience with RB Construction, Rafael was the first person I called to get the job done. He handled all of the city permits and was able to make all of the repairs in just a few days time!!

My wife and I are extremely grateful has to have found Rafael and RB Construction and we will be using them for all future contractor work we may need!

Rafael did a great job helping me remodel. He installed new floors, walls, window frames, blinds & paints. My apartment was suffering wear and tear & from the very start he was very communicative of what need to be done to improve the condition & with price estimate of the work. Overall, brought the place back to life.

Couldn’t be happier with Rafael and his team. They installed new stairs and a deck, punched a hole in the wall and installed a new door from my upstairs opening out onto the deck and stairs. Installed all new exterior lighting, and even redid my bathroom and shower floors. Everything they did exceeded expectations, they were fast, clean, and communicative. I really enjoyed working with them and will be calling them again for any future work.

MPH has done one big and one smaller project for me. They worked with my contractor and architect to provide the foundation for a new room and deck on the back of my 1904 Edwardian home in the Mission. They were an absolute pleasure to work with and more recently Marcelino removed some old concrete pathways for me. He explains things clearly and works quickly. Marcelino has unquestionably been my favorite contractor to collaborate with. Our project involved adding two bedrooms and two bathrooms to an empty basement. We sought his expertise when our previous contractor had botched the job, and other contractors had turned us away. Marcelino not only accepted the challenge but also approached it with a thoughtful and solution-oriented mindset. He tackled various issues, from replacing our gas line to redoing the framing and correctly positioning the pipes.

What sets Marcelino apart is not only his commitment to ensuring the project passes inspection but also his evident pride in his work. He's a true master when it comes to project management. Our project, which had been at a standstill for over a year under the previous contractor due to constant pipe work and electrical revisions, was miraculously revived by Marcelino. Throughout our engagement, Marcelino has consistently demonstrated professionalism, but what truly stands out is his kindness, thoughtfulness, and immense respectfulness. Regrettably, I've had prior experiences where contractors did not treat women with the respect they deserve. However, Marcelino's approach was refreshingly different.

The end result speaks volumes about his craftsmanship. We now have two beautiful bathrooms with impeccably installed tiles and shower door, and our two bedrooms are equally well-done. He was great at putting the final touch of the paint. Without a doubt, I would eagerly engage Marcelino for future projects. MPH Building Contractor did the building part of a remodel on our 110 year-old house, including leveling old floors, shoring up old structures, and pouring new foundation. The work is absolutely gorgeous! I feel great knowing that because of the quality of the work our house is good for another 100 years. The guys were skilled & courteous & showed up every day, and Marcie himself is lovely. I especially appreciated that they were conscious of not wasting too much - they re-used good timber from the old walls where possible.
