It’s a pleasure to recommend Marcelino and his construction company. As a general contractor, I’ve worked closely with Marcelino and his crew for over six years, collaborating on multiple projects each year. His deep knowledge of construction trades—especially framing, foundations, and structural work—is matched by his seasoned expertise and consistent professionalism.

Marcelino is a true team player and a thoughtful problem solver. He approaches every job with integrity and takes real pride in the quality of his work. His carpentry crew reflects the same values: they’re reliable, respectful, and maintain clean, well-organized job sites. I always look forward to working with Marcelino and am proud of the projects we’ve completed together.

    I recommend him without hesitation.

I hired Marcelino of MPH Construction for the foundation and framing work on our remodel in Noe Valley, San Francisco. As a homeowner, I highly recommend Marcelino for any structural or framing work and would gladly hire him again.

Marcelino and his crew specialize in foundation, framing, and siding, but he’s also extremely knowledgeable about the entire construction process. Before hiring him, I interviewed several contractors. Marcelino was the only one who could show me recent, similar projects completed in San Francisco—an important factor for me, especially given the challenges of working in tight urban spaces where your foundation is right next to your neighbors.

Our project included significant excavation, a full foundation replacement, a complete seismic upgrade, and about 3,200 square feet of new framing. The structural phase has taken roughly five months (we’re now nearing the end of framing). Despite managing multiple projects, Marcelino consistently had a crew of at least five skilled workers on-site six days a week. His team is hard-working, professional, and efficient.

Marcelino has also been very mindful of our budget—so far, there have been no cost overruns. He’s a creative problem solver, detail-oriented, and takes pride in doing things right the first time.

If you’re considering hiring Marcelino, feel free to contact me through him. I’d be happy to share more about my experience and show you the quality of his work.

My wife and I had a big flood in our house, and Osorio construction and restoration was the only company that was available that weekend, and late in the evening. Daniel showed up with his crew and extracted some of the water from our floors, called another company to test our walls for asbestos, and set up machines to prevent any mold while they got the results back. The next day they showed up on time and called us prior to arrival, which was nice because I was able to push my phone calls.

Furniture was moved alway from the affected rooms, Drywall, and flooring was removed and cleaned structure. They put plastic up so we could not feel the heat from the machines. It was inconvenient, but they had to dry everything up. Daniel also helped us with all the insurance communication and coverage amount agreements. My adjuster accepted their estimate because Daniel utilizes the appropriate estimating software that would get me approved for all they did. Before repairs started, Daniel already had materials ordered, and ready for after the drying process. He scheduled with us and walked us through the process, gave him the deductible the first day, and as soon as we received payment from insurance, we made them a check for the repairs competed at the moment.

Overall, I am super happy! My house looks the same or better than it did before the flood. Of course, we could not upgrades materials or layouts because it would cost us money out of pocket, but our paint is new now and floors are new too.

I recommend OSORIO CONSTRUCTION AND RESTORATION to all my friends and family. Thank you!

The work itself was great, and the foreman they sent was really a pleasure.

It was everything around that which was super frustrating. We had a lot of drama around invoices – especially after their email got hacked and I almost got scammed out of $10k with a fraudulent payment link. We also had some disagreements around scope, with them claiming we never talked about some things that I had brought up multiple times verbally and in writing.

I was really disappointed with this, because the output was awesome – but ultimately too much headache to recommend them again.

Hired M&L and Mark to repair rotted staircase, exterior siding and some miscellaneous items. Work was very high quality and price was reasonable. Also very responsive and professional. These guys know what they are doing and I would give them six stars if I could.

Couldn't have had a better experience than M&L. You always hear horror stories about getting good contractors, but I had such a wonderful experience throughout my project (replacing siding on the entire front of my house). This was my first big home project and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Elfego was so pleasant to work with and he was very patient with all my questions and requests. His craftsmanship and attention to detail blew me away, and I really felt he went above and beyond to make my experience a positive one. Mark was great to work with from a coordination and communication standpoint. Very responsive to my emails/questions throughout this project. Pricing was extremely fair for the quality of work I received. Highly recommend M&L! Will be coming back to them for future projects.

Maddocks Construction did a great job on our bathroom remodel at a fair price. We will definitely hire them again for future projects.

I can't say enough good things about Ray and Maddocks Construction. His business is a "mom and pop" business and as such was very responsive, friendly and professional every step of the way. I couldn't have asked for a better crew or better customer service.

Ray and his team recently remodeled my master bathroom. They did an excellent job. Ray is exceptionally detailed. He recommended the best products and he completed the job in the time frame that was agreed upon. He was available for my questions and concerns. I am looking forward to using him again.

I recently had my kitchen remodeled by Maddocks Construction, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. From start to finish, the team was professional, efficient, and truly listened to what I wanted.
Everything was completed on time, and they kept me updated throughout the entire process. I was also very happy with how clean they kept the workspace during construction.
If you are looking for a reliable construction company that delivers high quality work I highly recommend Maddocks Construction.

Ray showed up on time for our first meeting and every day after he started work. His contract was professional, his price very reasonable. I would recommend Ray to anyone in San Francisco looking to have remodeling, building, any kind of work where you want top quality at a reasonable price. Just writing this reminds me I need to call him myself to fix this problem with my deck. On it.

It is rare to have a contractor who is both considerate and competent. He has built up a strong team who share this strong sense of professionalism. I not only trust the quality of his work, but very importantly trust that any problems that arise will be dealt with appropriate speed and honesty.

His costs is not the cheapest, but he is reliable and delivers quality work.

We hired Aaron Gordon Construction for a Kitchen and Bath Remodel of our home in the Excelsior. His workers and subs were ALL professional from the demolition crew to the framing, tile work, plumber, electrical, kitchen cabinetry and painter. He worked with us on the costs, the duration, and splitting the project into two phases as new home-owners he helped on a lot of small issues like getting a door stripped to re-use, and working with us on specialty fixtures. He was prompt, cordial, and informed about the work and effort required. He gave fair pricing for all change orders, and worked with us when we wanted to do a little sweat equity on the project.

He is now a larger organization from when we hired him back in 2010-2011 but we would always consider to hire him and his crew for future projects when we are ready to redo or start a new phase on our home!

Highest regards for a growing professional organization.

    Sincerely

    Aaron Goodman

We thought we knew how good Aaron Gordon and his crew could be from earlier construction (which by the way saved our house from near-disastrous effect of an earthquake). But it wasn't until dry rot was discovered all the way from windows to foundation that AGC really proved its mettle. The damage (very extensive!) was diagnosed and a plan in place, complete with accurate estimate, within days and the problem resolved in weeks. The crew was good humored, efficient and on time thoroughout, plus they explained everything in whatever detail we desired. I've asked other homeowners about similar work and concluded that AGC is not only professional and experienced but affordable to boot. To this day we think of Aaron G. and co. with relief and gratitude.

I was so nervous getting the work done on our house. First let me start by saying we live in San Bruno where it’s notoriously hard to get permits and the wait is endless. We wanted to hire local, but went with AGC from the city for several reasons. They showed up to bid the job on time and immediately gave us suggestions on how to get more bang for our buck. Aaron spoke to us like we were real people and asked what we wanted and how his company could serve our needs. He didn’t up sale like the others, he actually told us how we could save money by putting the bathroom in the back of our house. We hired them and can I say customer service!!! We didn’t want to move out and they worked around that, our dog is protective and they worked around him. During spring break they kept the cold water I so we could use the toilet. These things found trivial, but you get major work done on your house and you will appreciate these perks. Now our work is done and I kid you not I smile every time I open my door. Impressive isn’t even the right adjective!!! Life changing home, bathroom, closets, flooring and may I add.. the subcontractors they use are just as good. They painted and fixed my garden up to the point I don’t want to leave. They were able to push our permits through and finished early 😳😳😳 I cannot thank them enough!

AGC is a high quality firm. During the bid process, Aaron & Brian D were the most responsive, offered constructive feedback regarding the project & were the most focused on ensuring an understanding of the project. They weren't the least expensive bid, however, I had the most confidence in them (& I subscribe to theory you get what you pay for). The foreman, Trevor, was excellent -- low key & always very responsive to any questions or concerns. He led the team to deliver a high quality remodel. My project was quite substantial -- touching every room & most every aspect of every room. Importantly, he ensured that my neighbors were well informed & provided his contact info to them. His 2nd in command, Amber, also deserves high praise - she was able to step in when Trevor was on vacation, during the final stages when just odds & ends were left & also was a key support for my designer. During a project of this size, communication is essential & I always felt well informed about the status & next phase. Also, while the majority of the work was complete according to expectations, there were a few things that dragged out due to other firms delivering faulty materials -- I never had to follow up -- Trevor kept me informed & worked to get those last remaining items complete. Other AGC staff also ensured high quality work (from Jeff the carpenter to Brian B who provided me detailed invoices to Eric who worked with Brian D & Trevor on scheduling the various stages.) I highly recommend Aaron Gordon Construction.

Aaron fixed some rotting siding in my light well some years ago. I had had some very unpleasant experiences with previous contractors whose work had been both substandard and expensive, so I was hyper critical and anxious, but Aaron was clear, prompt and provided quality work, while trying to ensure that the construction did not disrupt either our home life, or my work. Aaron completed the work swiftly and without fuss. He explained exactly what needed to be done and went to extra lengths to show me precisely what precautions he had taken to ensure his quality work would eradicate the original problem.

Later when my house suffered a flood and I was let down by the builders provided by the insurance firm, Aaron came to my rescue and clearly, concisely explained all the options. It is a major project, subject to minor glitches, but Aaron and the project manager have always been most thorough and professional. Aaron is straightforward, thoughtful and intelligent. He quickly identifies the cause and presents solutions allowing me to make informed decisions. He anticipates problems so few appear, those that do manifest, he strives to resolve in a fair and timely manner. In fact he has solved many of the problems created by the shoddy workmanship of others. Moreover, Aaron has been extremely patient as I dithered between designs, offering additional resources as needed.

It is rare to have a contractor who is both considerate and competent. He has built up a strong team who share this strong sense of professionalism. I not only trust the quality of Aaron's work, but very importantly trust that any problems that arise will be dealt with appropriate speed and honesty.

His costs is not the cheapest, but he reliable and delivers quality work.

AGC is a top-notch General Contractor. They are well established and respected in the Bay Area high-end construction and remodeling world.

We hired AGC to assess and repair the siding of our building that was experiencing some water intrusion. Our first meeting was a lengthy analysis of the structure and a detailed diagnosis of the likely cause of the intrusion. They identified a few different strategies to deal with the repair and tie back into the existing waterproofing and siding. Subsequently, we were provided with a detailed estimate itemizing all the costs involved which made it possible to compare to other bids. They were clear about what needed to be replaced, what could be reused, and what we could do but didn't need to do.

While onsite, the team was so courteous of our space, and worked so efficiently I barely knew they were there. They left our yard clean and tidy everyday.

Most importantly though is the quality of the craftsmanship brought to bare. As the project unfolded, and the true extent of the damage was revealed, their plan at the outset allowed for them to handle these unknowns in stride and on budget. They cut no corners and did the job right, which is ultimately the number one criteria for hiring a contractor.

This winter has really put this waterproofing work to the test and it has held up flawlessly. I put a high value on quality of work, trust, and professionalism. If you wan the same for your construction project, look no further.

When researching contractors, I tried to learn about the company beyond just their license certification and status. AGC is owned by an SF native and has a large team of long-timers. That says a lot in the construction world about who you are dealing with. If you want peace of mind that your project is being done right and at the right price, I cannot recommend AGC highly enough.
