Home Services reviews in San Francisco, California

There’s never a specialist on duty at this nursery they never meet or greet you and disinterestedly take your money. I feel bad because the plants are so beautiful that I end up buying stuff anyways.
*I wrote this yesterday, and it was an honest review of my experience. I noticed in the reviews that other people had a much better time. Truthfully this place is hit or miss. Mostly for me, misses. But it’s the closest place to my house so I go there, for years actually. I also work in this trade, so my expectations are high because I have seen what excellence in this field can be like. -
I have been going to this establishment for about 30 years.
My uncle, who is a gardener and could probably negotiate better prices with wholesalers, swore by these folks.
Love,love love them.
They rock my world.
I created the most beautiful garden for my parents based on their advice, products and prices.
When my parents died, friends of ours bought trees in their memory, and they have thrived.
I have never had anything I bought from this establishment ever die on on me.
They choose the best nurseries, and their customer service is amazing.
Today, I just called up with a request for help in finding an elusive plant, and the young representative immediately directed me to the correct person.
Subsequently, I told the young person, "Zoe" answering the phone, that "we loved them".
Refreshing to hear a young person, fiercely responsive to a customer, respond that "Sloat loves us also and appreciates our business".
How cool is that for personal customer service and appreciation?
WOW!
And yes, that is why I keep going back after decades and great customer service and products that last -
Awesome, reliable source of quality plants! Staff is always very helpful and kind too.

🌺My favorite Flowers & Gardening spot in the city🌎 I’ve visited the location frequently, but my last visit was splendid, and I must give credit when it is deserved!💫

Love all the selection of plants! Nice staff and everything they offer is very affordable.

Total pros. We've been raising butterflies mostly painted ladies. We decided to branch out and try Cloudless Sulfur but we needed a host plant. Enter Sloat Garden Center to have what we needed to sustain them. Our first one emerged today. Pea plant courtesy of Sloat Garden Center.

Love this nursery shop! I bought a fig tree($79.99)a peace lily($29.99), some flowers and some pots here. The price and design of pots are worse to go here. I love my indoor plants after one month they’ve grown a lot and became more and more beautiful.

Whelp, I have to say that my experience was quite stellar. Recently, I inherited a half-bed at a community garden and I wasn't sure what to do, other than getting myself to Sloat!
One sales person guided me around and made suggestions, then another helped me load everything into the car I hired-- above and beyond!
I'm super excited and proud of my little plot in the middle of the city. 🥬 🍅🥦🪻🌻❇️
Thanks Sloat team!

A nice neighborhood garden center for any sized garden. Wander through the aisles to see their selection of perennials and annuals. For cacti enthusiasts you may see some hybrid varieties.
If you don’t have time to put together a planter you can find some designed options that could be a great housewarming gift. -
I love plants so I stopped by on a sunny Sunday afternoon to look around and visit our friend Sasha. They have a nice variety in such a small area from small trees ro succulents, orchids, airplants, pots, etc. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable.
You didn't need to wear a mask outdoors but nowadays it is more friendly to wear one. Finding parking is tricky, so good luck!
It's a neighborhood treasure. -
Flowers, plants, trees and all the accoutrements that are related to gardening are here. If you have a garden, thanks for doing your part in creating oases of calm for birds and other small creatures who venture forth in this urban landscape. If you don't have a garden, you can adopt plants and/or build a planting box.
Sloat Garden Center is the place to go for the current assortment of foliage.
Need a question answered?
Many of the staff are knowledgeable about growing greenery. They also have recommendations on how to care or resuscitate your plants.
I enjoy strolling about the center, creating visual tableaus of what my garden would look like from the choices. Get yourself to Sloat and you'll get a natural pickup. -
Plants are generally healthy/good quality and they have a good selection of California natives. But I find a lot of their offerings to be overpriced and up-potted to a larger than necessary pot to increase the price - this small kalanchoe should have been in a 6" pot for less than half this price and I definitely did not purchase a small butterfly bush for $60(!!)

The colors and arrangements flowers are welcoming; staff is helpful and witty ; a friend of mine bought me matching plants here ; prices are reasonable. And then we went for Burmese food.

Thumbellina Gardeners have been doing monthly maintenance for my front and back yards for 8 years. Marlone and Victor do a great job trimming, weeding, checking for problems. Recently they trimmed a Ray Hartman Ceanothus tree in my backyard. It had grown over the fence into the next yard. Needed to be trimmed back severely. They cut a lot off, yet left a good-looking, even elegant tree. Their careful attention to detail, years of experience, deep concern to leave the tree safe and still beautiful made it work. I'm grateful for Thumbellina's service.
