It has been a year since the work was done on my house and I still love everything that was done. The front of my home looks so much more beautiful and all work was done at a high level of quality so that everything looks original to the home. All of the workers were a pleasure to work with and things were dine on or ahead of schedule. Pictures are before (with the ugly fence) and after (with new front window, paint job and trim and new lights on garage). I highly recommend.

Ben, Moe, and crew were amazing. I dropped the ball on getting back to Construction With Style due to work, but they didn't forget about me, and a few months after an initial consult, I went ahead and pulled the trigger for a new roof on my mother's home.

They were super professional, delivered on what was promised, and the work looked great. I can finally sleep well knowing that her long overdue roof won't be leaking this winter.

We hired Construction with Style to handle several repairs and improvements on our old house, and overall, we’re very happy with the results. They deliver quality work at reasonable prices.

We worked with Ben, who was highly responsive and helped us complete the following:

- Removed two layers of old shingles and repaired any rotten joists and fascia
- Installed new shingles and gutters
- Removed old insulation and replaced it with new insulation in the attic and walls
- Installed new skylights
- Repaired stucco in various areas around the house
- Painted the exterior

Construction with Style also stands behind their work. A couple of weeks after the project was completed, we noticed a minor leak in the garage. Without hesitation, they sent someone out to inspect and fix it—no hassle, no runaround. That kind of accountability gave us real peace of mind.

I would highly recommend them.

Stephen Bass did an excellent job identifying a water issue in an upstairs bathroom, installing a shower door, and repairing the water damage to our home. He also repaired some broken marble in the master bath and a few other repairs that we'd been putting off. His crew was timely, clean, and skillful. We are very happy with the work done.

We called Stephen for quote to replace a few sliding doors and windows, and to do repairs for possible water damage/known rotted wood associated with the window leaks.

Stephen came out and looked at our doors and windows, and told us it was not necessary to replace them - they just need to be re-caulked due to poor installation job done by the original company. This resulted in major savings for us, but this also means Stephen will not get any business from us.

Despite this fact, Stepgen still openly shared his experiences and knowledge with us. From the short time we spent talking to Stephen, we know he is an honest contractor and very professional. We will definitely recommend him to family and friends in the future!

2. We hired ODL Construction for a full kitchen remodel in the Bay Area, and the results were outstanding. Their craftsmanship, design ideas, and project management made the whole process smooth and stress-free.

Wasn’t able to utilize their services, but Steve was super helpful over the phone. I’d say they’re a really genuine and knowledgeable bunch.

Mr. Bass completely remodeled my 1920’s home. He stayed within the cost estimate and completed the job ahead of time. For the entire house, he installed new plumbing, electrical, mechanical and re-painted the interior/exterior of the home. In his scope of work, he clearly identified the breakdown of cost, room by room. He completely remodeled my kitchen including new flooring, cabinets, countertops & appliances. Likewise, he in remodeling the bathroom with new flooring, quartz finishes, cabinets & toilet. He also converted our outdoor shed into an ADU. Mr. Bass is well organized, efficient and a complete professional.

I initially met Steve at a Starbucks in downtown San Jose. He was wearing his business shirt, so I inquired about the type of work they do. He listed out all the things they do. For example, we were looking to replace our home's exterior wooding siding with new siding. I got his information and called him sometime later. A month or so later. He came to our house and did the prerequisite walk around. He then asked, "how many times do you like to go on vacation?" We were like, "huh,." So he asked again and then explained himself. What he was getting at, is the amount of money you're going to spend on replacing the wood, we can go to Cabo, a bunch of times. Here's the kicker and why we went with him. He said, "as a contractor, I would love to charge you more money, but you do not need a complete replacement, what you need is a really good paint job." And that is what we did. If you're looking for an honest, detail-oriented company, go with Steve Bass. He's 100% involved in the project, ensuring that your vision is what they are providing. At first, it was a little confusing because he and his project/office manager are both named Steve. Outside of that, go with Steve Bass! He's from the area and still lives in San Jose. His expertise is Victorian and California bungalows, but whatever your style of home, Steve will get you squared away. If you need referrals for other projects in your home, they will guide you in the right direction. I'm glad we chose Steve.

We had some patches of dry rot in the house exterior and Stephen Bass performed an excellent repair. The team was highly experienced and the work was completed to a high standard. The company operates with complete professionalism, including scheduling, billing and communication. I would highly recommend without any reservations.

We had a small area of siding damage and a few other miscellaneous repairs around the house. It was so hard to find someone to even respond - general contractors the work was too small, other handyman shops (even with great reviews) didn't respond after several voicemails and emails. I was getting really frustrated, when I found Stephen Bass Home Repair and sent an email asking for a bid.

I received a very fast response, I was kept updated at all times during the process, communication was professional. All paperwork was thorough and on time, every appointment was on time and efficient but friendly, and the work was done quickly, cleanly, and very well. I am so happy that I found Stephen's company and am happy to now have a handyman I can recommend to people.

Stephen and his team were a pleasure to work with. He's a very friendly, honest guy and knows what he's doing but also explains the process which is just as important.
I hired him for a bathroom remodel and when he came in for the consult we exchanged thoughts about what to do. I ended up going with his suggestion which he had very great reasons for and I've been very pleased with the outcome.
During the process he communicates well, updates on timelines, budget, which contractors were working at my house that day, etc. I was also at work for the majority of the job timeline and had no concern about having his team in my house. He wrapped up the job in May (ahead of schedule) and I have not had any issues since. I would work with Stephen again.

Stephen Bass did an excellent job upgrading my condo! He did excellent work, is very honest and straightforward, was always punctual, and had great communication throughout the process. I had lived in my home for 20 years and was looking to rent it out. Stephen walked through and made suggestions of what should be updated and where I didn't need to spend money. He completely remodeled the kitchen and master bathroom, and even picked out the new cabinets, flooring, quartz counters, sinks, faucets, and bathroom mirror. Stephen suggested where my husband and I could get appliances and new carpet at a good cost. For someone who hasn't remodeled much, Stephen was a lifesaver!

My husband and I couldn’t be happier with the work done by Stephen Bass and team. When he came out to do the repairs, he found that there wasn’t actually dry rot under our sink like we thought and he said he couldn’t take our money for work that didn’t need to be done. His honesty was admirable. We also needed to add on an additional window sill replacement and he was so generous with the change order. The team arrived on time each day for the work and they were respectful and wonderful to work with. Trustworthy contractors are very hard to find in our experience. I am so happy we found them and I would give them more than 5 stars if I could! We are definitely going to work with them again!

Really, really strong work and work ethic from Stephen and his team. Stephen helped me with some general repairs inside and outside of our house - siding, tiling, painting. All of the work was done very well. His communication was exactly what you'd hope for, and we were always informed of timing, expectations, costs, everything. In terms of price, we found him to be very competitive and the end result was worth it. We've had not great experiences with contractors in the past, and so it's very refreshing to come across Stephen. We'll definitely look to him again when our next project comes up, and I 100% recommend their work.

We have hired Stephen and his crew to do a couple of jobs now. They did a great job repairing the wood siding on our house. We also had them finish a shed with insulation, dry wall, paint, and trim. Steve in the office got back to us quickly and communicated schedule expectations clearly. Ricardo would talk to us daily throughout the project to let us know about the job's progress, and him and his crew did a great job completing the work. Stephen was very communicative and demonstrated knowledge about our options from pricing to completion of our projects. Everyone involved made sure we were happy with the final product at the end of the job. We are completely satisfied with the work and plan to use Stephen Bass General Building for future projects.

We had a couple projects with Stephen and his team including a house exterior painting and a garage renovation! I was excited to share the experiences with friends and neighbors about how professional they are but I started to think they may become too popular and busy to work for my future bath remodeling. Stephen is extremely professional, responsible and reliable. He gives thorough inspection and provides his suggestions according to our requirements before the project starts. And during the construction, he visited the site frequently (almost everyday and checked every tiny details which even we may have missed although his team already did very well. His team always keeps the sites clean everyday before leaving. The final results amazed us! I really appreciated all his work to help our house reborn.

We hired Stephen to fix damage on external columns that run outside our outdoor patio. This effectively included rebuilding portions of the column, re-painting, and re-caulking these columns. We also asked Stephen to repaint a portion of our ceiling and one of our indoor closets.

In short, this is one of the most positive experiences I have had hiring a contractor to do any work, not to mention a somewhat complicated repair. Everything from the initial interaction, to the quote visit, and the eventual repairs was handled professionally and efficiently.

Stephen's staff is courteous and efficient. Stephen and the crew he worked with are all very experienced, hard-working, and communicative. It's also palpable how much Stephen cares about his customers and reputation -- kindness goes a long way in this business.
