I hired Stephen for repairs on the siding and trim of my home needed due to dry rot. Afterwards, we did a full exterior repaint. I found Stephen and his painter Jimmy to be very thorough. I genuinely got the impression they wanted the best for my house. They were great all around, especially in their communication. I was consistently able to get in contact with them and discuss how various details of the project should be handled. Their teams too were thorough and easy to work with.

Stephen was referred to me and I have been so happy! He remodeled my kitchen, family room, 2 bathrooms and an ADU in only 2 1/2 months!. He was quick, friendly, respectful, gave me great ideas and listened to me. He and/or his crew were every day from 8-4, 5-6 days a week. No wondering where or when someone would show up. He introduced me to his whole team and I felt respected and listened to by all his team and subcontractors. I highly recommend him!!!

You could not ask for more in a contractor's professionalism and well-run project management. Owner Chris assigns a project manager to each project. My project was painting the exterior of my house, which required a few wall patches. Project Manager Keith stayed on top of the project, which was carried out by two dedicated painters. The senior painter was quite experienced and thought in terms of the whole job. When he found dry rot in one spot on the eaves, he carefully diagnosed how that had happened, and we worked out a plan for him to repair the area. An area that needed major patching was done so well that the repair isn't even noticeable. Keith stopped by on two occasions to be sure that the project was going well. He conversed with the senior painter and with me. One reason that I chose Blue Spade is that it is a full-service construction business that is licensed, bonded, and insured. Chris was able to look at the project I had in mind from that broader contractor's perspective. I would definitely hire them again for other home repair or remodeling projects.

Blue Spade did my yard tiling project that some other companies think too challenging to do. Chris and Keith are really really pleasant to work with--on time, professional, excellent communications, great project management that kept us informed on next steps. Project finished on time with great great quality and we are very satisfied with the result. Highly recommended!

Chris provided us with excellent advice on how to renovate our family room and incorporate the adjacent bedroom. We received a very reasonable quote within two days, and soon after, the Blue Spade team arrived at our home. Within ten days, the project was finished, and the newly expanded family room looked amazing. I would not hesitate to use Blue Spade again for any future remodeling projects.

Blue Spade Construction is an outstanding contractor. Chris Wencel, the owner, was very communicative and extremely cooperative, a rarity for general contractors. Emilio is the person who came to do the work and listened to what we needed and executed in an efficient and competent manner. Both people were an absolute pleasure to work with. The project was a small one, making the shower tub safer by removing the glass doors and replacing them with a double shower rod, mounted in existing tile. Emilio did a beautiful job – it looks like an entirely new room. We have other projects coming up and they will definitely be top of the list in consideration. I couldn’t recommend them more highly.

I live in Sunnyvale California in a three bedroom two bath house. We hired Blue Spade Construction to remodel our master bathroom. They did great job. The quality is outstanding. They expanded the vanity area and provided us with good ideas for fixtures and tiles. The bidding process was fast and they did it on time and in the budget. Blue Spade was great! They worked with our insurance company and did a real good job replacing flooring, putting in new water lines, new plumbing under our kitchen sink.
They worked good with the other contractors I had and between the three of them, our kitchen turned out awesome.

We hired Blue Spade at our designer's suggestion to do 2 bathroom remodels at our home in Palo Alto. We really could not be happier with the results and highly recommend Chris and his crew. Everyone involved was pleasant and reliable, always showing up when expected and generally completing work in the expected time frames even when unexpected challenges inevitably cropped up. Chris is very professional and clearly values customer satisfaction and does whatever he can to make his clients happy -- in our case on example was we realized partway through that a design element wasn't to our liking and Chris happily did the rework that was needed to change things around.

Our new bathrooms look terrific, and even after the job was completed Blue Spade came right over when we asked for some post-completion adjustments. Appreciate the work and would definitely hire them again!

I recently purchased a house in Los Gatos and wanted to renovate it. The team was amazing.
