Gabe was very professional and very knowledgeable with his trade. He answered all of my questions and ease any of my concerns. The Tesla wall charger looks amazing. Will definitely use him again and highly recommend for others to do the same. Thank you Gabe!

Gabe installed my EV plug at my garage last week. He worked with me from beginning to end. He was upfront, accommodating, and helpful with the all my questions. I would highly recommend him. Thanks again Gabe.

I had a wonderful experience today with Terry. He even gave me a tutorial on how to keep the issues from coming back and what to do if they do arise again. An honest San Marcos electricial service. Thanks for making San Marcos homeowners like me happy.

I will not be using this service again. This was only a service call, and no actual work was completed, but the experience alone was enough to leave a negative impression.
The technician’s attitude came across as disrespectful and unprofessional from the start. There were unnecessary side comments and remarks that felt insulting, which made the interaction uncomfortable.
Even for a simple service call, customers should be treated with basic respect and professionalism. Unfortunately, that standard was not met. I hope they take this feedback seriously and improve how they communicate with customers in the future.

Called up Ideal. Explained how my house is old and current setup (while works) is not code compliant. Previous owners over the years just got things working. Ive spent some weeks mapping out my entire home electrical and reading code before i decided to hire this out. I wanted some new circuits and fully expected him to follow code.

Strike 1- He graciously upgraded a 15amp breaker to a 20amp tandem to make room for my new circuits. Romex is 14-2. Thanks

Strike 2 - he left all his wire clippings and romex sheathing in my attic and garage floor.

Strike 3 - since he didnt want to move some other 15amp breakers to tandem breakers to make room in my box, he put my new circuits on a double pole common trip... kicker is, he shared it with a 15amp 220v circuit using the single poles (no common trip).

I went ahead and fixed his shortcomings and had to buy a new double pole common trip 15amp with two single poles.
.. moved some other 15 amp circuits over to it and upgraded some of the other breakers to 20amps.

The only redeeming quality was he answered my calls and showed up to do the job. Regreafully so though.

2 stars because he isnt just quite 1 star bad.

Had a fantastic experience with Andrew - installed a 240 volt circuit in my garage behind the dry wall. All work was professionally done, everything works great and he was very friendly. I would recommend.

Please be very wary of using this electrician. He said he would be foreman on our home remodel, he brought in subcontractors who did a terrible job, installed flooring over holes, sloppy tiling, piecing door casings, cut holes too large for lighting. The list goes on and on. He took no responsibility for the terrible work. Would never do business with him again.

Andy was great. Came out the next day. I called 6 pm on a Saturday. Came out did the work at the estimated cost. Got us up and running again. Explained why were having issues.

I would recommend Andy\Andrew for any job.

Installed outdoor heaters in 2022. Andy claimed we needed 4AWG wiring and I agreed to add the cost of the thicker wire. He claimed cost was $1,800 for 100 feet, $700 more than the consumer price on the City Electric Supply website at the time. As far as the quality of the work, our Control panel was mis-wired and I had to fix myself through multiple calls and emails with the manufacturer, while Andy claimed we had the wrong heater filaments. Not recommended.

Unreliable and Overpriced Service from Ideal Electric

I had a very frustrating experience with Ideal Electric, managed by Andy, and I want to share it to help others avoid similar issues. We hired Andy based on a recommendation from a friend to install three chandeliers in our home. Initially, he quoted us 1150 dollars for the living room, 650 dollars for the entrance, and 250 dollars for the dining area. After some negotiation, he agreed to a 50 dollar discount on each installation, bringing the total to 1900 dollars. He assured us it would be a one-day job, even after seeing the type of crystal chandeliers we wanted.

When Andy and his two helpers arrived a week later, things quickly went downhill. Andy spent most of his time away, either driving around or talking on his phone in the car, leaving the work to his helpers. Unfortunately, they made several errors, such as improperly installing the chandelier leaves, which required corrections. The most significant mistake was installing the dining room chandelier base in the high ceiling entrance, wasting a lot of time to fix it. Andy, who seemed more experienced, was not present during these critical moments. Because of these errors, the job stretched to three days instead of one.

The night before the final day, I asked Andy if he would consider a discount if we installed the crystals ourselves, as I was already using scaffolding to paint the area. Despite initially agreeing to this on the first day, Andy refused via text, and we accepted his decision. On the last day, Andy arrived visibly upset, complaining about the extended time the job took and our request for a discount. Even though I clarified that we accepted his refusal, he refused to install the dimmable switches we had agreed upon. This led to a heated argument where I insisted I wouldn't pay unless he completed the agreed work.

When it came time to settle the bill, Andy suddenly increased the original price by 500 dollars, claiming the job took longer than expected due to their mistakes. He accused me of lying about the original prices and insisted that he charged my friend 1400 dollars for similar work. Wanting to end the ordeal, I reluctantly paid 300 dollars more than agreed. Later, my friend confirmed that Andy had installed two high ceiling chandeliers for 1400 dollars, proving he lied to us.

After confronting Andy via text, he insulted me, calling me cheap. During our argument at my house, he made racially insensitive remarks, saying he didn't like working for people from my country, which was completely inappropriate and offensive.

Overall, Andy's service was unreliable, dishonest, and disrespectful. I strongly advise against hiring Ideal Electric for any electrical work.

They employ idiots who don’t know how to use a turn-off and would rather hold up traffic. I missed my daughters birth because of these guys.

    Thanks Fredrick’s Electricity!

I’ve used Fredricks’s Electric a number of times and have recommended them to friends and family as well. Local, family owned business. Very reasonably priced, awesome customer service, friendly technicians. I wouldn’t use anyone else!!

I always try to go local, and don't review if negative. While I am just a residential client, they under promised and over delivered. The work was REALLY clean, with an insane amount of communication.

who thinks to review an electric company...i sure don't...it's always an unwanted call to make, and usually quite expensive! we had TWO houses for these guys to work on, one was simple, new outlets, etc..the other house had been having an issue for MONTHS, with flickering or no power in the kitchen...after a couple HOURS, they found that a screw had been touching a metal door outside, shorting the system! they did not overcharge me for the hours of searching, and we haven't had a problem since...who would have thought to look for that! the best news, i can use my dishwasher again :) highly recommend!
