My 5 star review for "Better Than Real Artificial Grass" (BTRAG) is long overdue. This wonderful, highly professional landscaping company transformed our backyard early last spring, and I can't say enough about how happy we are with the results. Jorge is simply terrific. You will likely meet him for the estimate and job planning process. He had an excellent sense of the requirements of the job, and his suggestions as to layout were valuable. Their bid was significantly more affordable than the other contractor I had contacted, who I didn't like as well. BTRAG also came highly recommended by a trusted friend, so the choice was a no-brainer. The job was done on schedule by a genial team of workers who knew what they were doing - the grading and installation were perfect.
I have to admit I was hesitant to install artificial grass in the first place. First off, the cost is considerable. I wondered if it would look tacky or feel fake to not have a living lawn in the backyard. Real grass is a lovely thing.
At our last home in the Inner Sunset, my husband had dug up and prepared the dirt to plant a large lawn from seed in the backyard. We had a gorgeous lawn for about two months, but maintenance was a nightmare. We never succeeded in finding a grass that could tolerate our patchy weather (months of fog mixed with scorching stretches of sun in May and October) so the grass died, but not before capturing burned out haloes where our dog peed on it, and sucking up too much water. We didn't want to go through that again. Also, we have friends who are having trouble with raccoons digging up their recently installed sod. So glad we pulled the plug and invested in the artificial grass. It is a completely different experience from natural grass - if you're looking to sit on it and picnic and pull blades and make daisy chains, artificial grass is maybe not for you. But it's been perfect for us and our grade school aged kids! Once we stepped foot on the new artificial lawn it felt expansive and smooth and lush, and we all started to run around like mad. The kids' friends also have that same instinct, so it's become a thrilling exercise area for friends and family. The dog runs on it daily and the lawn has held up perfectly for over a year. BTRAG offers a ten-year warranty so I feel confident and very satisfied in this investment. There is literally no maintenance other than running a bamboo rake over it every so often.
We were so happy with the work done by BTRAG, we hired them for an additional project last year. Again they wowed us with terrific work. We recommend this company most highly! Thank you Jorge and team for your talent and integrity.

Can't say enough about how thorough, professional and fast these guys are. Not to mention they're all nice people. Biggest factors that have made me a lifelong customer:

1. The guys asked question in the field to confirm they were installing how I wanted.
2. They cleaned up after themselves very thoroughly.
3. Jorge man, he loaned me a truck and two guys to pick up trees that were late being delivered so we could finish the project that day. Really above and beyond.

I will not be using anyone else but them going forward.

We had a wonderful experience working with Jorge and his team. From start to finish the project went seamlessly and the finished product is beautiful. We expanded our grass area with a new retaining wall and installation of artificial grass. Jorge's team handled the entire project - they were efficient, prompt, communicative when the rain caused delays, and the quality is top notch. I can't recommend them highly enough.

Great Service, Great Results

This is the second time we have used Better Than Real Grass for artificial grass installation. The service is simply great and the result is impressive.

Eight years ago we hired them for a small project. It has held up very well.
This time they worked with us in two stages. That allowed us to have time to work on the fence and plants. That worked very well for our overall landscaping project.

The owner Jorge is very professional and personal. He is flexible and will work with you. Gabriel, who has worked there for many years, answers the phone every time. He has excellent customer service skills. He remembered what kind of grass we put in a few years ago. I don’t even remember this. He has an amazing memory.

I had a great experience working with Jorge and his team for the installation of a putting green in our backyard. The pricing was very fair, the communication was very prompt and very clear. The contract was descriptive of all the work that would be done. The scheduling was done quickly and on the day of installation, Jorge and his team arrived on-time. They were friendly, efficient and completed the job in one day. We are very happy with our new putting green.

Went far beyond my expectations on a very difficult job. They replaced a 30 year old 1600 square foot lawn that was full of roots, had to deal with a discontinued pond, and a very irregular shaped perimeter, nothing was a straight line. All 4 of the workers on site were absolute professionals, and it was obvious they were very experienced. They brought a large variety of equipment and knew exactly how to use it. I have been in the construction industry for 40 years, did not know anyone at this company before this project and this is the first review I have ever done. I did get other bids but they wanted us to compromise on what we wanted. This company really delivered!

After consulting 5+ contractors about my yard drainage project, I picked Gonzalez Landscape and I couldn't be happier with the decision. The team was very experienced, They outlined the timeline, design, and work phases and finished the whole project on time. Throughout the time, they informed me with the progress, answered my questions and followed up on my inquiries. I was worried that a huge yard project would be messy and disruptive to neighbors, but I was pleased to see the daily routine of cleanup, safety controls was so well managed that there was no worry at all. I worked with Gonzalez Landscape on a large backyard remodel that included an 8 ft resting wall that runs the entire width of our backyard, outdoor kitchen, living and dining areas, a terraced garden, and a big deck with a sunken hot tub and hang out shed. I cannot say enough good things about Ulises and his crew. They were highly skilled, professional, and easy to work with. I honestly don’t think there is anything they can’t do. I’ve had the best experience with Victory Gardens Landscaping, not only does the company hire really hard workers, but the owners of the business, Gustavo and Dalmo, are also extremely hands-on with all of their projects, overseeing everything and ensuing the best possible outcome. They have a beautiful attention to detail, they really listen to what the client wants and executes that dream to the best of their ability. Several of their finished projects have the look of a billionaire’s yard. Gustavo and Dalmo are amazing, caring, intelligent, and really fun to work with.
