I chose Third Heaven Landscaping because they had landscaped a neighbor’s yard that looked great.
From the beginning Juan Carlos provided clear answers and developed a plan based on my needs for the back garden. It was completed within the agreed upon time period. His men worked hard and cleaned up the area at the end of each day.
Juan Carlos stayed in communication with me each day and responded to texts immediately.

I can't say enough about Juan Carlos and his team from Third Heaven Landscape. Juan Carlos is immediately responsive and always on time. He takes the time to listen and find the way to create what the customer wants. He is very honest about if your ideas will work or not, and if not, finds an alternative solution. He stays within budget and works hard to find quality plants and materials. They have installed gopher cages around the root bases of every plant and tree, along with quality drip irrigation. His team work very hard and consistently stay on the job until it is complete. They leave everything clean and neat at the end of each day. We were so happy after our garden transformation that we have hired them to maintain our yard on a regular basis. Many of our neighbors have used them to landscape their yards also. It's not unusual to see Third Heaven trucks going house to house here. I can't speak highly enough of Third Heaven Landscape.

A diamond in the rough. They are very professional. They committed to a time several weeks in advance and were here within minutes of their promised time. This happened on more than one occasion. Very dependable.

Jerry, from Third Heaven Landscape approached our job like he was working inside of our house. He not only did a fantastic job installing a landscape drain but contained all of the mess to a tarp and cleaned up afterwards.

After he completed the installation, we had a good rain. The drain worked perfectly. This had been a problem area for many years. Jerry did a great job with a permanent fix.

What amazed me is their estimate of how long it would take to do the job was almost exact. No surprises.

Juan and his team did an outstanding job at my house. My backyard was replanted with flowering plants and fruit trees. Juan Carlos and his crew were personable and professional. He spent his time asking about what ideas I had in mind and offered his professional suggestions. They came through and completely redid my front yard, putting in native drought resistant shrubs with a dry creek bed. He will be coming back in a couple weeks to redo my driveway with pavers. We met at the facility that will provide the pavers and he went through all of the options available to me. I am very excited for this next project to get started. When done I will tell about my experiance.

Third Heaven Landscaping is increasing my curb appeal!

I really can’t say enough great things about Third Heaven…

From the first contact it’s been such a positive journey. My project has gone just as initially discussed. The Third Heaven team shows up early everyday- they are always on-time, they work very professionally, and they leave the site picked up each evening - ready for the next day.

I’ve noticed the whole team works like a well-oiled machine with materials and equipment being dropped off and used just when it’s needed, to keep the project flowing. It’s been really impressive to see how well they all work as a team coordinating drop-offs and take-aways from my location at the end of a cul-de-sac.

Juan Carlos (owner-operator) has really excellent communication skills. And in his consultation for the needs of my project he helped me understand all that needed to happen to get the results I wanted.

Juan Carlos is one of those rare guys …. In my opinion, he’s doing everything right in the way he’s approaching his team, customers, and growing this business.

Now that they’ve got the front yard looking so good, I plan to hire this company to help revamp my back yard!

Third Heaven fixed problems with the irrigation system and decomposed granite walkways in our new garden that the original landscaper couldn't resolve. They also installed two new 500 gallon rain water collection tanks. Very professional and easy to work with.

We originally hired Third Heaven to do a minor update to our backyard, but ended up having them do a total overhaul of our front and side yards too, including multiple patios, turf, walkways, fences and a new composite deck. Juan Carlos really helped us to realize the full potential of what we could do with our yard. He walked us through all the important decisions at the planning stage, and was very good about communicating with us while work was in progress. The Third Heaven crew are professional and really ensure that their clients are happy with the final product!

Third Heaven Review

This review is long overdue – Third Heaven began two of our projects during COVID-19. Both our projects were completed by July 2023.

In March of 2022, our first project with Third Heaven was to lay a concrete pad for an Endless Pool, install the stone skirting and pavers around the pool, along with other details. It was a huge job in which Juan Carlos Marquez and his team had to work with the pool installer/contractor (separate from Third Heaven) who was NOT as dependable and easy to work with as Third Heaven and Juan Carlos. Nevertheless, Juan Carlos was patient and diplomatic as well as efficient and flexible as he met every challenge the job presented. The results were fantastic!

In February of 2023, our second project was the landscaping of the rest of our yard. I had a design in mind to which Juan Carlos was very attentive and kindly made suggestions that helped significantly. He was very forthcoming with prices and affordability as well as keeping us informed of material delays. He was also very patient with me as I asked questions and presented ideas about details I hadn’t thought about during the planning process.

Here are the highlights that would be very important to me if I needed to find a landscaper (which I don’t – I’m hooked on Third Heaven Landscaping )

Dependable and Honest – Juan Carlos, Third Heaven’s owner is true to his word. To me this is invaluable when dealing with any professional. I knew what to expect and when to expect it. He is friendly, amicable, diplomatic, considerate, and very dependable. When there were delays, he let me know as soon as he knew. We never heard excuses or felt deceived. The team he had working on our property was also very dependable and professional.

Listens – Juan Carlos listened to my plan and offered helpful suggestions. I was never put off if I wanted to do things my way, nor did I feel he resented me “sticking to my guns”. He enabled me to appreciate him making points if he thought one of my ideas might not work. However, he was interested in making sure I was happy with the outcome; of which I undeniably delighted!!

Good Ideas – Juan Carlos made suggestions that were helpful. For example, I went with a composite bark for ground cover after he brought me some bark samples. The composite really DID look natural and was considerably less expensive. Also, I had some stepping- stones from my yard that I wanted to use in my rose garden – but couldn’t figure out the layout. One of the Third Heaven team members laid them out perfectly. Putting lights in our patio and pool steps was also a brilliant suggestion. I am especially grateful when I have to go out and check on things after dark – much safer than a flashlight and so much prettier! There were a lot of little details in which the Third Heaven team and Juan Carlos enhanced the aesthetics of my garden.

Accommodates Schedules – Juan Carlos worked with and around COVID-19 and contractor issues, our work schedules, personal events, and travel schedules. He did all that he could to make sure that we were comfortable with what was on the schedule.

Follows Up – In all things, Juan Carlos followed up on all arrangements and contract obligations. We appreciate that he did many check-ins to make sure we were happy with the finished project.

In closing, we HIGHLY recommend Third Heaven Landscaping and are very happy with their expertise, dependability and being as kind and accommodating to us during our landscaping projects. We truly feel that Juan Carlos Marquez and Third Heaven Landscaping went above and beyond our expectations.

Third Heaven/Juan Carlos and his team were really easy to work with and did a great job redoing our drainage system at our house. We called Juan Carlos after a big rainstorm that exposed our drainage pipes to have been totally collapsed, leading to flooding in our front driveway that was seeping into the house crawlspace. Juan Carlos came out that afternoon to do a thorough assessment and provide a competitive quote -- he even recorded a detailed video to remind us (and his team) of the work to be done. His crew came out in about a week - ahead of schedule! - to start work and were incredibly productive, professional, and communicative the entire time. When we asked them for some additional help with our downspouts, they did the extra work with no hesitations. We now have a new drainage system that works flawlessly and gives us peace of mind with all rainstorms. Juan Carlos continues to check in on us to make sure it is functioning well, showing the utmost professionalism and care for the quality of his work. We will 100% be using Third Heaven Landscape for our future projects!

Juan was extremely professional and very easy to work with. He had great ideas that he sent us by video to see what the finished product would look like. His vision was implemented by his team lead by Martine who was excellent. The team listened to what we wanted and achieved a final look better than we could have expected. Juan is quick to respond to all communication from us. The team cleaned up everyday before they left which was very nice. They did more than we asked. Juan is very trustworthy and we will use him anytime we need anything else.

Juan Carlos and his team revamped my backyard at the beginning of COVID, when we were all told we had to work from home indefinitely. I figured that if I'm going to be stuck at home for the rest of my life, I needed to do something about that backyard.

Fast forward to the end of last year, when I realized it was time to revamp my front yard. I contacted Third Heaven again 'cause they were simply the best the first time around and I knew their amazing level of service and professionalism would remain.

Full disclosure: I am not a gardener and I hate weeding.

When we were discussing my limited desire to do anything in the yard, Juan Carlos listened to me. He gave me excellent ideas and suggestions, and he took enough care to understand when I was a little overwhelmed by the choices he presented so he gave me his top 3-5 picks and they helped me make good decisions.

I will only use this business for any landscaping, fencing, or any type of outdoor work that falls under their purview. I have recommended them to multiple friends and neighbors, and all have been thrilled with the transformation.

Let's just say I really hate leaving my house now.

Juan Carlos did an amazing job on my backyard remodel. I had a general idea of what I wanted, and he gave me smart, creative, and welcome feedback about the plan. He provided great options for pavers and turf, communicated quickly as issues came up, and was an absolute delight to work with. I can't recommend Juan Carlos and his team highly enough. The same two Third Heaven team members worked on my project throughout, with others helping out as needed. I appreciated that consistency, and their commitment to creating a beautiful backyard was apparent every single day. I'm grateful to have made this connection.

Juan Carlos and his team went above and beyond with our backyard landscaping job. Their work is impeccable and I would urge anyone in the Monterey area that is interested in a big (or small) landscaping job to reach out to them. They worked very fast and fit our time-line perfectly. The guys cleaned up all their equipment before leaving everyday; you wouldn’t even know there was a big job happening in our backyard. They did such a good job that we are having them re-do our front yard in 2025!

Juan is great at communication and was quick to answer and questions we had and were willing to work with our budget and make things work. Before the job, he was able to mock up our “vision” of what we wanted so we had a visual representation of what the finished backyard would look like; it was awesome to say the least.

Again, I wish I could give third heaven a 6 of out 5!

Third Heaven Landscaping did a wonderful job cutting, trimming and cleaning up several large trees on our property. In addition, they left the yard immaculate; all branches and twigs cleaned up and everything in place. Juan Carlos is so easy to work with. He listens attentively, walks through the job, and follows through to make such you are completely satisfied. It’s no wonder they have such a stellar reputation in our neighborhood. We recommend them with no reservation.

Juan Carlos and his crew are awesome! We are doing a fairly large project and Juan Carlos has been responsive, communicative, informative, and honest. Up front, he told me his estimate wouldn’t be the least expensive and also wouldn’t be the most expensive. He did several virtual renditions before we settled on the final design and also punted when we added some items. I would recommend Third Heaven and will be calling on them for future phases of our backyard!

Juan Carlos and his team at Third Heaven Landscape are masters of their craft. My wife and I have been very impressed with the professionalism, responsiveness and flexibility of Juan Carlos and the excellent work his team does. We’re very happy with the what the team produced. Our outdoor space is now both beautiful and functional. The transformation was incredible! My family is super excited to spend more time in our backyard. Third heaven did a great job landscaping our front and back yards. They did a new deck as well as pavers for the patio in addition to all of the green-scapeing. The owner, Juan Carlos is very professional, and him and his crew are super talented.

UNRELIABLE. Agreed to do a project and bailed after a month. Commitments don't mean anything I guess. Wasted my time as we’ve met and communicated about this project for a month and this now puts me back. Besides that, poor communication, takes a couple, sometimes a few days to respond so either is busy or doesn't want to talk to you for whatever reason. Another disappointing landscaper experience.

Juan Carlos and his team made our backyard project painless and seamless. Very professional, reasonably priced, knowledgeable, and kind. Our backyard was pretty much a hot mess, and muddy during the rainy season. With dogs, not an ideal situation. His crew was efficient, quiet, neat, and a joy to have around. We could see lots of progress everyday. We didn't see Juan Carlos everyday, but he was always a phone call away to answer questions. We completed the project a couple of weeks ago and Juan Carlos is still checking in to make sure our sod is doing what it's supposed to be doing. We like to go out to the backyard now and just stand there and admire the view! We 100% recommend him and his crew for any landscaping needs. We will definitely use Third Heaven Landscape for future projects. AND recommend them to anyone needing landscaping services!
