What a great solar company. They very friendly and always had a smile on their faces. They were hard workers and showed up every day until the job was done.

They stuck to their pricing. They will finish the job on the time line they promise you.

I highly recommend this company to everyone.

To summarize - DISORGANIZED and AMATEURISH. I guess they are mainly a solar company venturing into home remodeling? I eventually fired them, and I wish I had done so sooner. I am a first-time home owner and renovated my 1300sq ft condo -- 2 bathrooms remodeled, all floors replaced, kitchen retiled and replaced countertops, lights updated including a new LED system installation, and repainting the condo. The price was 48k without materials. I consider this to be on the expensive end, so I expected them to be competent, professional, and headache-free but the experience was the opposite.

Time Management - very poor. Estimated completion was 2 mos and 1 wk maximum according to them, but by the time we were close to 4 mos and the pace still didn't pick up, I decided to fire them. They have very serious staffing issues. On several occasions workers would actually no show. Contractor's favorite fallback line when talking about missed deadlines, "well, construction is dynamic."

They were not the cleanest in terms of picking up after themselves and generally did not use blankets or plastic covers. Neighbor was complaining of the dust in the hall, and I was surprised when contractor told me they did not have a vacuum cleaner (like isn't that super basic?).

Quality was very inconsistent. Sometimes was okay (floors were good, most of tiling was good) to downright shabby and unacceptable (e.g., wall underneath the vanity was unfinished and exposed the drywall, baseboard under toilet looked like someone used their teeth instead of tools to cut it, among other examples).

Contractor was reactive instead of being proactive, was not on top of things and I never felt he was in control of his project, ever. Clearly overstated his abilities. Was often passive-aggressive, sometimes would try to blame me, either subtly or directly, for things that had gone wrong. Had little foresight, poor planning skills (e.g., did not account for height of baseboard and height of side splash touching structures above them, and did not even notice until I saw and pointed it out after the fact; he miscalculated tile requirements repeatedly, causing delays and additional shipping charges; also never mentioned, hence I know he never noticed it before, that an electrical outlet would be in the way of the kitchen backsplash, when I called his attention he said it was because there was a beam behind so he could not move the outlet, if that was the case then why didn't he move it the other direction).

Greatly underestimated the complexity of the LED project causing major grief and headache. Long story.

I waited to write this review until I worked with the new guys I hired so I could compare, and what a difference!! They are so much more professional and tightly run from the office end to the workers' end.

I do regret going with this overpriced and underdelivered contractor. I was going to give 2.5 stars out of 5, but since there are no half stars I decided on 2, after seeing how other companies work. I give them one star for at least not having a major disaster and not running away with my money (though this is a low bar), and another star for putting in effort to please and make things right with the customer. But I cannot recommend them for a major/complex remodeling project. If you hire them, I suggest factoring in penalties for failing to finish on time.

Photos of things I mentioned are attached. The toilet plumbing in the baseboard, and the space under the vanity were improved. Unfortunately the outlet in the tile backsplash is already the improved version (looks worse than before).

I was skeptical at first, but after a lot of conversations with other companies and neighbors I decided to try it out. I'm glad I did the hole project was handled professionally and in a timely manner. Now that iv powered on with CA Home Solar my d.w.p bill went from $1500.00 every 2 months to $15.00 every 2 months. I am extremely happy and will recommend them to everyone,

We are very satisfied with all of the workers who came to the job, the quality of the materials, and the project manager that made it all come together

I got my solar system installed by CA Home Solar in 2011. The solar analysis was done professionally, and system has been producing as promised.
    I got 9 kilowatt system (36 panels)
I would would highly recommend CA Home Solar for new customers. They are very professional and fast. Project manager was on site during installation, and followed up with us throughout the job.

We recently had CA Home Solar install our new roof solar system in time to meet the requirements for NEM 2.0 with SCE. The call was made to them back in late April, 2023, on a referral from a contractor friend, and from then on they handled it all for us. All the paperwork, the NEM 2.0 application, SCE correspondence, city permits, and electrical and panel installation. Yanni was out to the house a number of times to check on progress and his electrical contractor, Dan Kemme of Sunbelt Energy, did an outstanding job of laying out the grid, installing the electrical and a new larger 225 amp electrical panel (to replace our old 200 amp), and redoing the stucco around the new panel. The new panel was done to allow for gradual movement to all electric later as we replace water heaters, air conditioning, and kitchen appliances over the years. And also, so we did not have to re rate our old panel to 175 amps to allow for the solar install. Most all of the folks who quoted wanted to rerate, saves on the install cost but later costs more to redo. We have a Girard metal shingle roof which every installer we had spoken to before Ca Home Solar said we would have to reroof under the panels with asphalt shingles to allow for a proper installation. Dan was familiar with the roofing so he knew how to walk on it correctly and make the installation smoothly without requiring any additional roofing changes. So far we have been up for about a month and everything is operating well. We received PTO (Permission to operate) from SCE a few days ago so now we are good to go on the new billing system. Interestingly our 27 panels on the west side of the roof are generating about 62 kWh of power daily against our usage much less than that. It will be interesting to see how this plays out over the months ahead with time of use billing from SCE. I can certainly recommend Yanni, Dan, and their team.

California Home Solar is the highest quality solar company in the LA area. They take care of YOU, not just your solar. Every home has inefficiencies, and they took the extra time to improve and increase the overall efficiency of our home. They were totally upfront about all aspects and made sure the job was done right. Didn't cut any corners. I highly recommend them.
