I have a mini split heat pump system that was leaking freon. I had someone else work on it, and weeks later it stopped working. So I decided to call the furnace room to have them come out and take a look at it. Maddy was the tech worker who came out to check it out. Right away he spotted what he thought was wrong with it. He showed me what he suspected, and I agreed that made total sense. Once he took the fittings apart, the problem was evident. I highly recommend this company for their quick diagnosis of the problem and friendliness.

Excellent service. They come once a year to clean and tune up our furnace. Everyone is very nice and helpful.

They are horrible at driving. Aggressive, break traffic laws. Bad neighbors on the road.

I contacted them via their site and they promptly got back to me. The person on the phone was polite and accommodating. The tech that came out was also polite, knowledgeable, and patient. All around professional company.

Greg taught me how to get up there open the wall unit and clean the screens. Very pleasant and professional, was willing to let me watch and explained stuff to me.I like to see how things work!

A few months ago my furnace went out which wasn't a surprise because it was the original one in my house that was built in the early 80's. I called a few places to get quotes including The Furnace Room because a friend had recommended them. Got a few quotes, one bigger name place didn't even call back, and these guys gave me the lowest bid. That wouldn't have made me automatically go with them but when Morgan came out for the estimate I could tell he knew what he was talking about, was very thorough explaining things, and pointed out a few hurdles he'd have to go through to get the newer furnace in the space that the smaller & older one was in. He just installed the furnace today and it works like a champ compared to the relic that was there. One of my big pet peeves is getting an estimate and then having a bunch of "unexpected" things added to it in the end. Not with these guys. Bottom line is they gave great customer service, did an awesome job, and their quote was considerably lower than the other ones I got. One last little plus is I like to support smaller locally owned businesses based on the principle, but they also had the feel of a friendly family owned business which was awesome.

Everything was easy. The office staff was super friendly. The technician arrived on time. He was professional, knowledgeable, and very helpful and explained everything simply. He performed the duct cleaning service for our 4 split level home. He made sure to leave our house clean. They even performed the job under the estimated price. Great experience. Totally recommend!

The Furnace Room cleaned the ducts in our 2-story house and installed a Bryant MERV15 rated filter on our existing furnace. The results are amazing, as clean filtered air is instantly felt as you come indoors from the woods and countryside where we live. We were so pleased with the service and the results that we went a step further. The Furnace Room then planned and installed a Bryant mini-split air-conditioner/heater in the attic above the kitchen/great room using again the high rated filter system. It took four days of intense work (under the house to pull a new electrical circuit line; in the attic to install the air handler, filter, and ductwork; in the house to install vents and air returns; on the roof to run refrigerant lines, etc.; and outside the house to install and connect the compressor). In addition they installed two Ecobee thermostats (one on the old furnace system and one on the new mini-split system). The technicians arrived on time every day, were professional, flexible, competent, and unfailingly good natured. They took into account adjustments that we requested along the way. Their work was flawless. They thoroughly tested the system and ensured we were comfortable with its controls before they left. We could not be more pleased. Profound thanks to Ryan and Ben who planned the whole thing; to Chris Q and Douglas who executed the plan to perfection; and to Jen and Nissan in the office who took care of our paperwork and listened so well!!

Super job. They did an immediate repair the replaced my 25 yo furnace with no hassles. The crew was very careful of the property. Didn't damage my floor, and installed the furnace in the attic with no mess. They left behind a well organized attic with the venting all earthquake strapped. Excellent job on adding an AC unit using cost effective means to get the power there. All work to code. They even did a follow up visit to make sure everything is working and I knew how to drive the thermostat. Estimate was comparable to the others I received. No worries about recommending them to some one needing furnace and AC repair or replacelemt.

The Furnace Room installed a new system for us. Their workmanship is excellent. In addition, we had several circumstances that made the process extra challenging and they really went above and beyond to work through it all and make sure everything got done properly. The were highly responsive, cheerful, and their techs showed up on time every time. From the customer side, you could not ask fo a better experience. I highly recommend them.

I spoke to many HVAC services in the area and Right from the first call the Furnace Room was excellent and on top of anyone else, from the way they set up initial inspection and rapidness to response time and follow up. Ben came out this morning to do a check up on our heating system right before the winter and he did a spectacular job. Suggested a couple of good points for maintenance, was very transparent and honest on what needed to be done and what didn't need to be done. Very happy with the way they work, their attention to detail and most of all, the honesty that they have. Great job guys!

I had to replace the 41 year old furnace in a place I just bought. The Furnace room did an incredible job. Very reliable - always appeared when they said they would appear. Did a tidy install, hauled away the old furnace and cleaned up after themselves. I love doing business with a local Santa Cruz Company that has been around a long time and will continue to be here for me. Would definitely use again and recommend. All the staff was very friendly and helpful.

I finally got “Furnace Room” at my place for a 28 year old furnace! Furnace is only good for 20 years. I have been without heat for 2 years due to no businesses available to fix furnace until now. Greg, HVAC tech suggested a part $500 or replace 28 year old furnace $5000-$6000. I trust Gregg’s advice and bought the part. We took a chance! He cleared areas to install part as well loose screws. The new inducer motor part worked together with old furnace—and batteries at temp gauge inside place (Holly suggested). FYI—$149 for furnace maintainance is paid upfront to check monoxide and so on. Now, I can SAVE for a new furnace. I am GLAD I have HEAT so I can work on place after 2 years (like a hoarder home since I did not have heat to work on place). Thank you! :-)

When mice ate the wiring on my Bryant heat pump, Ryan found a replacement that matches the rest of my system and sold it to me at a discount because the manufacturer’s warranty had been voided by mice damage. Then they designed and sold me a handsome “cage” to exclude mice in the future. I certainly appreciate his help. Also the installer solved another problem I had had since I bought the system. The controller can act as the thermostat so heating is regulated from the living space instead of the ceiling.

I have never left a review before EVER, but I felt this couldn't go unshared: I had truly one of the most negative interactions with another human being that I've ever had with the technician that came to change our filter. Rude and exasperated from the moment I went to let him into our apartment, slamming things, throwing things around our stairwell... He tried to convince me that I didn't need a replacement without even seeing our furnace, and when I let him into the crawl space where it is located, he tried to convince me that our property manager (who was the one who had contacted The Furnace Room to do the replacement) wouldn't pay for it. He literally climbed down the ladder, and I had to convince him to replace it. If my roommate wasn't in the room to witness this exchange, I would have thought I was dreaming. Speechless.

Had a leak on an outdoor faucet. Called Bellows and they were out within the hour. Scotty did a great job.

Their AI bots answered the phone, clumsily but sufficiently were able to set an appointment. The human plumber showed up in the window of time set. He spent some time analyzing determining a plan of action
