The Maids have been cleaning my house for the last 7 years. It’s the only company that I trust to get my house clean, smelling fresh, and looking sparkly clean.

The did a good job but ripped me off financially. They quoted a price of $140.00 but when they finished the job, they said it was $140.00 AN HOUR and charged me in excess of $400. NOBODY charges that much for house cleaning. I'll never use them again.

I have used their service 4-5 times. To start with their rates are on a higher end but I do not mind if the services comply with the same. I'll be honest, most of the times their cleaners were good and followed the instructions, however the equipment that they use to mop and vacuum is extremely dirty. After the cleaning their were tons of strands of stray hair on the floor and it was extremely gross. It seems I payed 160$ to bring dirt into my house. It took me 3 hours to re-clean the bathroom and floor myself with multiple times to remove all what they had brought in with their dirty equipment. They offered to re-clean my house the next day, but is it worth it? They still have dirty equipment and poor maintenance practices for the mops and dusters.

I’m overwhelmed with gratitude for the team that was sent to clean my home. I was recently in a car accident (car totaled) and I couldn’t clean as I normally do and these sweet and professional people came in and did such a great job. I’ll continue weekly now.

They sent 4 cleaners and they finished our 3 floor house in 1.5 hours. They did a very thorough job and put everything back in its place if moved. They are a bit pricier than other cleaning services but you are paying for extra quality.

The maids did such an amazing job in my house. They came in a team of 4 and were so efficient and fast!! I have never seen my house literally sparkle!! They were on time, professional and brought all their own equipment. They also have amazing customer service. I recommend their services to any one in need of a house cleaner!!!

I was recommended to use this service by a friend, and was thoroughly excited at first because of how kind and accommodating they were at answering all my questions. For new clients, they charge by the hour ($199/hr) and their price is fairly reasonable. Afterwards, they’ll provide a flat rate for consecutive cleanings.

Unfortunately, out of all the maid services I’ve used in the Bay Area, this one led to probably my worst experience.

For starters, they arrived late—granted there was traffic so I cannot entirely fault them for that. When I had consulted the ladies if they needed to know where things were (i.e paper towels, trash bags), they said they had it all handled, which I assumed meant they would find out for themselves or they had the materials already. They cleaned quickly (1.5 hours), so I was excited about the outcome. I assumed they did a fair job. They gave me the receipt, I thanked them, and I assumed that was the end of it. I’ve used several services in the past, and they’ve all been reliable.

Looking over the receipt, they had ended up charging for more time than they had cleaned. Afterwards, when I took a closer look at the house, there was dust in several places, some rooms‘ trash was not taken out, and if they did take out the trash, they did not replace the bag (i.e they kept the original soiled bag in its place).

I called the service afterwards, and they offered a discount or to come back and finish the clean and they were very accommodating. So we took the discount and would eventually just move on.

However, that same day when we tried to use the sink, it was completely clogged and the drain pipe had ended up bursting and leaking. This was confusing because it literally was working that morning.

Earlier, we had heard one of the ladies washing the dishes and use the garbage disposal for at least 2-3 minutes. So it was possible they had something to do with it and we wanted to do some investigation.

Again, we reached out to the service, and we asked if they could help cover the charges, and immediately they got defensive saying our garbage disposal was broken in the first place. We had not accused her and only asked if she could help with the repairs, but her tone had completely changed and she started yelling over the phone, insisting that they did not use the sink nor the garbage disposal at all. This was a clear lie. It didn’t matter to us if they threw items down the train because it’s possible it was an accident or that they expected the disposal to take care of it.

However, lying is intolerable.

tl;dr Service is friendly. Cleaning is subpar. I would not use them again.

We have been happy customers of The Maids in Palo Alto for 12 years. We recently moved to a new town covered by a different The Maids (Santa Clara) group and had a terrible experience. We booked for a move in cleaning with this new to us The Maids group out of Santa Clara. On the day of the cleaning they changed the time with no notice (fine to change, but I didn't get any notice of the change). Then at the new earlier time the head maid Rose called my cell phone 17 times back to back to back with questions I had already answered at the booking and also typed into their app (logistics questions on how to find it and how to get in). I was not expecting any calls and was busy/didn't even have my phone because I was helping run a sports event (timing it for hundreds of kids- not something you can pick up the phone at all). When I finally saw all the missed calls I called them back and someone name Rose has the audacity to immediately start lecturing me about not calling her back (at a time when I was busy and not at all expecting her call). I still told her the answers to her questions and then had to get back to event I was helping run... and she proceeded to keep texting me over and over and over with double ?? and !! type marks asking the SAME questions I just answered. What in the stalker domestic abuse hotline did I step in here with the The Maids group? Insane insane behavior. I'm still trying to get the contact information of someone in charge because Rose wouldn't provide it. Oh and the kicker...they didn't even clean the place after all that. She said they left the area without going in and the traffic was too bad to come back. 100% all their mistakes from beginning to end. From other reviews I think this one employee is a problem for other customers too. We've had great experiences with TheMaids in other regions. This was the first bad experience.

After spending too many weekends cleaning the house after an exhausting week of work, I finally decided to ask for help. I have been using The Maids for the past couple of months and couldn't be happier. The team is always thorough, efficient, and respectful of my home. It is well worth the money and one less thing I have to do. Definitely recommend The Maids!

The cleaning was performed well without any issues identified. The staff enjoyed seeing my granddaughter as they know her but is usually in school when they arrive.

Rose’s team met all expectations for efficiency and cleanliness!

I have used The Maids of the Bay Area to clean my house for many years (24 or so; started when we moved to this house.) They have always provided great service. The team comes on time and stays for about an hour. Since they have a team, it doesn't take nearly as long to clean as when one person does it all. They are consistent and friendly, and do a great job. I also believe it is important to use a service that pays workers comp insurance, and pays its workers decently.

I ended up paying much more than was agreed upon.

My initial appointment was on a Thursday with three maids at the rate of $179 ($199-$20) for 1 hour around 2:30pm

When I called to reschedule a for a day earlier (Wednesday) AT THE SAME TIME the owner happily agreed and no other discussion was had.

On Wednesday morning while I work I get a message that the maids are on their way at 10am
Which was not the agreed upon time. When they arrived (late- at 3:10pm-which was fine) 4 maids had arrived. After cleaning I was asked to pay $225 because it was a team of 4. We had agreed upon a team of three. I did not appreciate $50 more for an addition person I had not asked for. The owner tried to argue that it was because I changed my date and didn’t allow them to come at the early morning time (while I was at work??) there was no discussion had that the number of people on the team had changed so the amount would be adjusted OR that the time had changed from what was agreed upon.

The work was mid. It seems they used the same mop everywhere without rinsing so there are streaks upon the floor. No trash was actually thrown out after I specifically mentioned all the food must be tossed. Only the countertops were wiped, some floors wiped (carpets not moved) some utensils washed. There were even spiderwebs left.

I personally will not be hiring them again.

I have been using this company for years. They are always reliable and dependable plus they do an excellent job. I would highly recommend The Maids as your regular cleaning agency.
