“We’re sick of being compared to Elements, why don’t you switch to them” is the response I got from the owner when I called asking where the plow was when elements has cleared our next door neighbor three times now in the same period. Well I already gave you my money.

Well when you are one of two snow removal companies in Tahoe Donner, and you conspire to keep driving the price up, charging the same amount I would expect similar service. Would not recommend if you want access to your driveway. Might be ok for second home owners. We end up having to snowblow to get out nearly every storm. So paying for the service doesn’t exactly make sense.

This is the best company! We’ve been in TD for 13 years, and having a company that follows the town of Truckee to remove your berms so you can get to and from work is such a blessing. Thank you so much! See you next year!

Estabrook snow removal is awesome! Their communication is tremendous. We always knew when they were coming to plow our house. They were flexible, adjusting timing to better enable us to empty our driveway of cars. They were friendly, supportive, and constructive. There was so much snow this year, and they did an amazing job of keeping our driveway clear!

Worst snow removal company experience ever.

Christmas 2025 we were snowed in for days at a time.  We'd wake up and have over a foot of snow in the driveway and a 3' berm at the street.  We'd contact them to see when they were coming and they'd say "we already came at 2:30am".  Well, that's great, but it's 9am now and our driveway isn't passable.

After a few days of this, with our driveway not being passable, and them making midnight runs that don't actually help you in the morning, they charged us an extra $75, on top of the $2,300 season contract, to make our driveway passable for the first time in days.

Then, a week or so later with the next snow, we had another foot in our driveway and they said "well, it rained most places in Tahoe Donner and we drove your street in the middle of the night and it wasn't that bad so we didn't bother to plow."

I sent pics of the snow in my driveway, both fresh fallen and drifted, and they decided to cancel my contract in early 2026 rather than just do their job of plowing when it snows.
If you live in the Bay Area and come up here every few weeks, they'll likely have your driveway clear for you when you happen to arrive.  If you live up here, or rent your place out, find somebody else -- anybody else -- they want to take your money and make excuses for why they aren't driving their big fancy plows.

Cancelling someone mid season is actually dangerous, too.  There is no practical way to make other plans at the last minute, someone could need medical services etc., and it just shows their very low business ethics.
Also, they say clearing the berm from the city plow isn't included.  So, hope you like shoveling a 3' ice wall after a storm, because they say they're not going to come back and do it.

Avoid at all costs.

Ate here before, it was great and I loved it! Everyone was so nice and the food was so good!

The Grateful Gardens team did a quick install of irrigation and seeded for lawn. Quick, efficient operation. Very happy with the experience, would definitely recommend!

Unfortunately our experience with Grateful Gardens was less than stellar. We met with their landscape designer Heather in May and agreed that she would make a design and plant list for 3 large flower beds. We also agreed to have our yard cleaned up while we were gone for an estimated cost of about $ 400.- plus dethatching and aerating of the lawn and turning the sprinklers on. We also had a service crew come for service to mow the lawn and weed. Here came our first shock - they mowed part of a meadow that we had never asked them "weed" and destroyed 3 plants in a flower bed that I had explicitly told them not to weed whack the week before. At least they didn't charge us for that second week when I complained and apologized that their new crew "needed more training." Heather came back after 8 weeks (!) with a couple of small sketches that were not to scale and did not consider existing plants (charging us $ 300.- in the end). But the real bad surprise came with the invoice they sent us of $ 1345.- for the yard clean up/ lawn and sprinkler service (sprinklers were leaking in several places, so they had obviously not checked the sprinklers for the $ 140.- they charged us for that). When we emailed to find a compromise price, they did not budge. I never met a manager of the company (is there one?) and surely cannot recommend this company.

A huge thank you to Tim, the owner for an emergency snow removal from our driveway. After our snowblower broke, we were stuck shoveling a very long driveway. Tim, who was clearing our neighbors driveway happily cleared our driveway for us. He was a lifesaver! Best service ever! Thank you!

Duviv did a wonderful job making both the front and back of our house beautiful! In particular they transformed our useless sloped backyard into a terraced, paved patio, with a firepit and beautiful plants! We continue to use them for ongoing maintenance, winterization, etc. They're responsive, and did the job in a timely manner!

I can't say enough good things about Julie and her crew's transformation of our front yard! They started with a frustrating eyesore and created a new front yard complete with turf area, gorgeous hardscaped fire pit area and surrounded it all withbeautifully planted flower beds. I couldn't be happier! We live on an active street with lots of walkers and it was so much fun to have neighbors stop by and praise the transformation! Thumbs up from the neighbors is high praise! 🙂

It's been a long hard winter full of so much snow. We have been counting the days til everything melts so we can once again enjoy our front yard. Summer parties are just days away!

Julie and her team completely redid my whole yard! It was pretty much just dirt before they started and now it's a beautiful oasis that the whole family enjoys daily. Julie's attention to detail is amazing and she was personally there to oversee the project every step of the way, she was always available to discuss any questions or issues that came up and would come right over at a moments notice. Her team worked really hard and really knew their stuff and always went above and beyond to make our dream garden. We love hosting back there now and get endless compliments from everyone who visits.
