As a local landscaper I have been going to Rock & Rose since they opened. It's convenient that you can buy your bulk material and plants at one place. Everyone at Rock & Rose have been fun to work with and extremely helpful.

Always love going here!! The employees are knowledgeable, kind, & helpful and they have a great healthy selection of plants. And inside they have a variety of house plants & cute & unique plant holders/hangers, and random knick knacks, great gift items.

Very unprofessional workers. Have had myself and my car assaulted 2x by their workers at the Tahoe City library. So unprofessional they do not speak english and cannot tell one they want to do the work before vandalizing my car and trapping me inside. They do not post signs stating when they are going to work there but each time I've been assaulted by their workers at around 8:30 in the morning while the public library is open for wifi and book returns. They should be doing their work at 5am when most people don't show up to do their work here and be more professional towards members of the public.

We worked with Rock & Rose and Tahoe Landscape Architecture for a full year to create a new yard which included Rock & Rose doing the grading, irrigation, making sure we were in compliance, stone work, and lighting. They are professional, on time, and they were great in their communications with us. We have been really pleased with their work and the level of supervision and care that the Erik and Jaclyn took in making sure everything was as expected or better. We recommend them and look forward to working with them in the future.

Rock and Rose Landscaping has been awesome to work with!! They helped me design and construct a beautiful mountain landscape at my home on Lake Tahoe. Great crews and great people! And they have a fun plant nursery located in Truckee. Highly recommend!!

Update after what happened below. They gave me a call to figure out what happened. After explaining to them, they apologized for the mischarge and gave me a refund for the entire quote visit. I was very impressed that they followed up and listened to what happened. There were some new personal that mixed up some lines of communication which is where my mischarge came from. I’m glad they explained to me what happened and were willing to address my issue professionally. Due to their response, I’m much more likely to use them again.

Original issue: I'd asked this company to come to my property to take a look at my irrigation system so I could get an estimate for the work I wanted done (repair irrigation and possibly move my irrigation system underground). I was told that there would be a $110 charge for the visit, which would be credited towards any work I let Rock N' Rose do in the future (basically if I accepted their bid). I paid the $110 before the visit.
I will say that their visit was great and I appreciated them answering all my questions when they were looking at my irrigation system. I ended up not going with them and instead had someone else do the work on my irrigation system.
Given just that, I had no issues with them. However, several months later, I suddenly received an invoice for $165 for the visit, the mileage, and the time to prepare the estimate. At first I thought it was a mistake, so I responded and explained that I'd already paid the $110 for the visit they'd made. However, their response was that they could credit the $110 towards the $165, but I still had to pay for the time it took for them to prepare the estimate and for driving to my property. I was stunned, because I was never told I had to pay anything extra since the $110 was supposed to cover the actual visit to my property. I do not live in the middle of nowhere, and live in their service area. When I'd asked about fees before scheduling this appointment, I was told there were no other fees besides that $110, which I find very unprofessional. Fees should be the very basic information for any business, especially when it comes to providing services.
I would suggest that if you are looking to get estimates/bids from several different companies, do NOT get one from this company unless you're fine with paying over a hundred just to get a bid.

Rock and Rose did a fabulous job on our landscaping! They were very hands-on and responsive throughout the design and construction process. We have received many compliments from friends and neighbors! We highly recommend them!

Rock & Rose did a beautiful job landscaping and installing a paver patio in our backyard. The result is perfect and we are enjoying the patio! The workers were very kind and fast!! Everything was professional and we would highly recommend them for your landscaping needs.

This was our first and only year using Rock & Rose for yard maintenance. By the time they arrived, we had already completed our own spring cleanup, pine needle removal, and drip system setup. Despite that, their crew came in with industrial blowers, damaged several plants and parts of the irrigation, and left mid-job due to shift limits—never returning to finish. We were then billed $1,500 for unfinished work plus disposal fees (dump fees, they do not offer to use green bins either).

To their credit, everyone we spoke with was polite and did come out to review the issue. However, we ended services and paid the invoice even though we strongly disagreed with the charges. Afterward, we continued receiving monthly bills for maintenance that was never performed.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was costly and extremely disappointing. I would not recommend Rock & Rose for maintenance services. It’s unfortunate, as we used to enjoy visiting their nursery—Villager Nursery remains a much better local experience.

Did an amazing job on a Spring clean! Very thorough Our yard is never looked so good

These guys did an amazing job with a retaining wall & stairs for us. Fernando, Pepe, Estevan and Evan all were incredible to watch work. Esp Evan in the mini-excavator was a sight to see. These guys are awesome. High quality work. I can’t recommend them enough.

Cameron and his team redid our patio, sidewalk and the landscaping in the front of our house, and along our driveway/aspen bed. The entire process was incredibly smooth and resulted in exactly what I was looking for. In terms of planning, I had a sense of what we were hoping to accomplish, but Cameron helped to design a plan to fill in the gaps in my ideas and make the project a reality within a reasonable budget. During work, his team was extremely professional, friendly and even accommodated our 4 year old son who was very interested in all the digging. Any changes or unexpected hurdles were thoroughly discussed with us before they were addressed, and the team remained open to our input along the way. It was a great balance of Cameron and his team utilizing their expertise but also seeking our judgment and feedback. I absolutely recommend Cameron for any landscaping projects and would utilize his services for any future work.

Benty's Landscaping is honestly wonderful; I worked with Cameron and Heather and my experience was excellent, they’re both super knowledgeable and professional. And, as you can see from their website, the work they do is beautiful. I also found them to be flexible based on our evolving needs, while continuing to offer us great suggestions based on their deep experience. Essentially, if you want a great partner in making your outdoor space to look awesome Benty’s is a perfect choice. It’s also worth noting that at no point did I have to remind them of something we agreed on or a deadline…heck, I don’t think they were ever even a minute late to a meeting we had scheduled; I deeply appreciated that aspect of working with them.

A rare gem of a contractor in the Truckee / Tahoe area. Cameron and his staff are friendly, responsive, and knowledgeable. Would highly recommend for design-builds, masonry, and landscape installations.
