When it was time to replace my water heater I contacted a few different places and ended up using Water Heaters Only...and I'm glad I did. Max D. was the technician who did the installation at my house and he was awesome. Not only was he professional and knowledgable, he was also a very nice guy who clearly took great pride in his work. It was a pleasure dealing with him and the company.

Our water heater started making loud noises and then died -- it needed to be replaced. After doing research and reading reviews across multiple sites, I decided to go with Water Heaters Only, and I'm soooo happy I did. I spoke with Phil and he kindly walked me through my options and answered all of my questions before scheduling an appointment for that afternoon. With that first interaction I immediately knew I chose the right company.
The technician, Max, contacted me and showed up right on schedule. He was so kind, honest, patient and personable and explained in detail what he was going to do. He even worked to get us a discount because our water heater was outside and easily accessible. It only took Max about three hours to get everything installed and secured. Plus, he fixed the metal storage compartment so that the door could finally close! After he was done he showed me how to light the pilot in case it ever goes out and provided me with contact information just in case I needed anything else.
I am so thoroughly pleased and impressed with the service from both Max and Phil that I can't wait to recommend this business to everyone I know! Many thanks! -
When our water heater started leaking, we looked at several different companies. We decided to go with Water Heaters Only.
We spoke to Cyrus on the phone who was patient, kind and extremely knowledgeable.
We spoke to him on Sunday at 1:30pm and were surprised when he said he could have an installer out that evening.
Max arrived around 5pm and explained everything that needed to be done for the installation. He was very knowledgeable and empathetic to our needs and even helped to get us a discount on the entire installation, which was greatly appreciated.
It was amazing how fast (3 hours) and expertly he installed the new water heater. He did little things only an extreme professional would do or even think to do.
After the install he took the time to show me how to light the pilot in case it ever goes out. He assured me to not hesitate to call if I needed any future help.
He placed a label on the new water heater with all the needed information for future reference
He left my garage spotless when he was done.
I would recommend this company to anyone needing a new water heater.
Their customer service is unsurpassed. They completely treat their customers with kindness and respect and truly make you feel like they appreciate your business. -
My home warranty assigned E & A to perform my the Spring HVAC tune-up. The technician was great and really informative! Service was prompt and professional. Thank you.

My AC Compressor replacement was assigned by my home warranty to E & A Mechanical and my experience is that my home warranty really scrapes the barrel on who they assign work to and no great hopes for timeliness nor quality. Well, I am spending this precious moment of mine to share that my experience was the OPPOSITE of exasperating, but they were very communicative, proactive, and the tech I was blessed with was Andre, who is very friendly yet unobtrusive and extremely savvy in his field. Andre is meticulous about the job AND the cleanup.
I got to tell ya, the level of professionalism Andre exudes is from an earlier generation when folks cared about and took pride in what they produced and rolling up one’s sleeves was the order of the day.
Thank you, Andre, and thank you, E & A Mechanical!

We had some issues with our AC unit in the last 4days, and E&A technician came on time and did his diagnostic and started his work, he did a fantastic job and was very professional. His name is Garen and I’m very happy to finally find someone who I can trust, I highly recommend him and his company E&A Mechanical, Inc . Thanks again for a fantastic service. Sincerely Roubik. D.

This company was chosen by my home protection policy for a heater repair. The tech notion came out told me nothing was wrong with my heater. Charged me 185 dollars to clean it and now 5 days later it is not working again. They can’t come back out for 5 days to look at again. Terrible company! My insurance will not let me use any other company. They really don’t know what they are doing. Maybe they only treat insurance calls this way. Very untrustworthy. I would pick another company if I could.

E&A was assigned to us via our home warranty program. I had a pretty good experience. The tech, Andrey, arrived on time. He was pleasant and seemed knowledgeable. The problem was a clogged drain pipe, which he identified and fixed in less than an hour, in addition to inspecting and sealing the attic ducts at the same time.

The technician arrived on time and was very helpful and explained to me what the problem was. He also explained what was covered by the home warranty and what was not. He took his time by doing a through inspection. My AC works great, doesn't leak and cools the house even better. Gave me some tips as well as what to be aware of since my system is old.

I am extremely disappointed with the service of E & A Mechanical. We had scheduled an AC repair/maintenance appointment, and they canceled at the very last minute (same day). This wasn’t just any cancellation—it was for a 6 month pregnant woman who was depending on their service to keep her home comfortable and safe during record high temperatures.
Their lack of consideration and poor communication is completely unacceptable. Not only did they fail to show up, but they also left us scrambling to find an alternative solution at the last minute. For a company that claims to care about its customers, this experience was anything but professional.
If you’re looking for a reliable and customer-focused AC company, I suggest you look elsewhere. Save yourself the hassle and frustration. -
I was required to use this company through my home warranty for a heating issue. The technician spent less then 5 minutes diagnosing issue, took one photo and then tried to leave without explaining what he believed the issue was. The report he provided to our home warranty was undoubtedly denied as he was recommending complete re-ducting despite the AC/heating unit and ducts being newer and having no past issues.

We called them out from our Home Warranty company. The setup of the appointment was easy and they were good to call in advance of their arrival. The technician clearly explained the findings and fixed the problem. It was very informative and we appreciated the time spent to make sure we knew what to do to take care of our system. I would recommend them to our neighbors.

The circuit board controlling our AC died. We found this out when a separate HVAC company we had schedule for maintenance came to do the maintenance, found this issue, and told us they don't service broken units.
So we called our home warranty (First American) about getting it fixed. They assigned E & A Mechanical to us, and we got a first appointment within the week. After filing the service request (Tuesday afternoon) E & A called us promptly on the same day to schedule the appointment Thursday morning. So far so good. I let them know the issue over the phone (circuit board is dead, here's our model, etc-- the issue had been professionally diagnosed at this point) and they promised they would let the technician know.
On Thursday Morning, technician Karen arrived on time. He had not been told any of the details around the issue we faced, and didn't seem to listen when I told him what the issue was. After about 15 minutes of work, he told me that our circuit board was dead and that they would need to order a new one. This is not exactly a revelation, and a little frustrating given the effort we made to convey the exact nature of the issue, with the hope that they would order the part in advance and we could be one-and-done with this service call.
Karen said it would probably be 2-3 days for E&A to get the replacement from ordering it, and that E&A's office will call when they do. Three days after our appointment, I called E&A and am left on hold for 10 minutes. After hanging up and calling back I'm able to talk to a person, who kindly lets me know that the part should arrive in another day, and they'll call me to schedule the followup appointment, all of which does happen.
It's now the morning of the followup appointment, and about halfway through the appointment window I was given, I call E&A for an update on the technician's ETA. I'm on hold for 10 minutes. I hang up and call back and get through to someone immediately. They tell me that the appointment window has been moved back by an hour, which is news to me. Turns out they shifted the window the day before, and didn't call, text, or email with the update.
The technician shows up at around 11:20. It's Karen again. He has the part and gets right to work. Within a half hour, our AC is back online, and blowing cold air.
E & A got the work done, but their professionalism and communication are all over the place. It felt like sometimes they were right on it, but at other times it was like pulling teeth (getting left on hold for 10 minutes and forgotten, not getting schedule updates, them not giving the technician the info we had sent).
Overall, I would not work with E&A again without trying a few other options.
I think technician Karen did a good job on the actual work, but I was frustrated by communication difficulties in my interactions with him.
I got the impression that E&A was easy to talk to when it came to booking work, but that it was difficult to get information out of them without a lot of effort and that they required a level of followup and vendor management that were unnecessary.
If they had fixed their communication issues, and were easier to work with, I would give them a higher rating, but as it stands I was frustrated through much of my experience with them. -
When my home warranty finally decided to replace my unit, E&A quickly set me up with a schedule at their soonest available date. They called me weekend, and got me set up on Monday. They also said the technicians would arrive anytime between 8 and 11. And they did, 8AM. Awesome! They also said it may take up to five hours. But everything was done in about three hours less. Very fast and thus time efficient for customers. They have kind and knowledgeable technicians. I am now enjoying my cool home.

E & A Mechanical was sent by my home warranty. First of all, if I could give them a 0 I would. Had them come over twice. The first time the first thing the guy said was "You're outside my area". Then why take the job to begin with???!!!!!!! So I immediately got "annoyed" vibes from him. Whatever, he checked my AC. He didn't do anything other than leave my vents open and didn't put things back. Okay. Not a big deal, I did it. Then he was scheduled again to come and check out a duct... I got a call last minute to say they couldn't do anything because my ducts were on my walls. WHAT???? 100% incorrect. I corrected and then was told they don't fit in my attic. EXCUSE ME? My husband who is 6' 2" 220lbs fits with room to spare. Like c'mon! Super unprofessional. If he didn't want to do the job just say no PERIOD! Don't do lie about it to avoid coming out last minute.

Technician was very nice and what I thought was informative when he was here. Got up in the attic and inspected evap coils. Said they need to be replaced then went on to write a report to my home warranty that he could not access the evap coils and that portions of the attic or roof would need to be removed as well as ducts to gain access to the evap coils! Never once did he mention this when he was here on site and seemed confident he would be back for a repair. Seems like they have lazy technicians who tell you one thing face to face and another thing to your insurance company. Contacting their office doesn't do much good either. Stay away!
UPDATE AFTER OWNESR RESPONSE: 6-4-2024
Had another company come out. Cool Comfort. They had no problem accessing the evap coils in the attic. These guys didn't even inspect them and just assumed they needed to be replaced. Turns on the evap coils were perfectly fine. The issue was a metering device that was clogged with a small piece of metal. They corrected it WITHOUT HAVING TO CUT OPEN MY ROOF. Problem was solved same day. -
Their technician Andre was assigned to check our heating system through our home warranty, National Fidelity Home Warranty. The moment he came in, we turned on the heater and set to 70C. He checked our heating unit and also the outside unit if it’s working. While checking everything, I asked him if both should be turned on at the same time ( inside and outside units) together when the heater is on? He said yes. He spent like 10mins checking everything then told me it should not be “on“when the heater is also “on”. I actually got a second opinion from another company that both should turn on because the unit outside should serve as a heating blower. He gave me conflicting answers. We went back inside the house, he was checking the heating unit again & said, it’s working. I told him that if it’s working we should be getting heat out of the vent. He showed me his thermometer with reading of 85F but our thermostat was 62C Heater was on during his entire stay. He even blamed the house inspector about not doing a good job with the inspection of our heating unit. He walked out when I tried to complain that no heat was coming out of the vent and he insisted that the heating unit is working good. He wanted me to believe about his diagnostic that everything was working good and He tend to argue even though he can feel and know that there was no heat coming out of the vent. Very unprofessional, incompetent and dishonest technician

The E&A technician went above and beyond to address the issue(s) with my very old HVAC unit. He gave me helpful tips on how to clean the unit and thoroughly checked out everything. He was able to get the old unit back up & running. And, it's running smoother and better than before!

Sent out by my home warranty company, American Home Shield. Tech went up into attic for 45 seconds, came down, told me I had a big problem and he couldn’t get into my attic to see the furnace. I had already had 2 techs up there from another company for over half an hour, gotten a detailed report of what needed to be done. Got a 3rd opinion, and that tech was also able to get into my attic and tell me what needed to be fixed. Called American Shield several times, got their unhelpful call center in the Philippines. Finally my realtor stepped in and I spoke with another agent yesterday morning. She initially wanted to charge me another $75 for a second opinion by one of the other companies she works with. Still waiting for that to happen, and I refused to pay any more money...I should be getting my initial $75 back for the first useless tech. I was then told I had to use one of American Home Shield’s companies for repairs/replacements. CA law states I can use the contractor of my choice and I’ll be reimbursed. Stay away from American Home Shield and run fast if E&A ever comes to your door!!!!
FEB. 10 FOLLOW UP....I certainly understand the importance of safety. No, there is no catwalk, but other contractors were able to safely get up there to evaluate the situation, and make
arrangements with an abatement company to remove the asbestos so the work that needed to be done could be accomplished. Why wasn’t that recommended by your company? The asbestos is being removed today, and American Home Shield is sending out someone tomorrow to go back into the attic for an evaluation even though the work will be performed by a company of my choice. -
Home warranty insurance sent this company for a HVAC tune up. E&A stated condenser did not need to be cleaned or freon gas recharged. I had a different company examine my ac unit, was told condenser unit was dirty and had to be cleaned; as well as freon gas replaced. E&A charged for doing absolutely nothing, and swept the problem under the rug. WILL NOT BE USING THEIR SERVICES AGAIN.

SCAM, STAY AWAY from this company.
They quoted us 10k while we got our unit fixed for $1200.
As mentioned with other negative review, do not let First American Home Insurance assign this company to you!!! We didn't do any research prior so we weren't aware of this company. Anyways. Our AC unit was not working properly and FAH insurance assigned E&A mechanical to us. The guy came and took a lot at our unit as well as up the roof to check pipping, he said our compressor is dead, everything is leaking, roof has missing parts, and it won't be covered by insurance. Then he showed me a screenshot from his phone saying, your insurance goes by this plan(pays 50%) when you upgrade to a new unit.
He then quoted us 10k to fix everything because without insurance it would easily cost us 75k!!!!! (what?!?!)
He then asked us several times if we want to proceed with it, I told him I'll need to check with my home insurance and he kept saying, if we do it now, it will be 8000, submitting it insurance will take a long time. Better agree on the price now so we can speed up the process. I declined and said let's submit the claim with home insurance and we will see.
2 days later, they called and asked if we were to proceed, we told them our home insurance never received your claim and we could not proceed.
Long story short, we had 2 another companies come and check our ac unit because E&A mechanical did not seem reliable and we wanted a second opinion. Both company did a THOROUGH check. When I say thorough, he literally tried 4 possible ways to fix our compressor, wash off the dirts, released Freon and etc...
Turns out our compressor needs replacement, we raised concerned about missing parts and leakage but things were fine up in the attic, no leakage. They submitted the claim within 2 business days. We ended up only paying $1200 total.
