We've been dealing with issues from our condenser for several years now. The strange noises it makes when starting up - a mix of squeaks, buzzes, and clunks - have been ongoing problems since installation. A local technician took a look and found that the unit hadn't been properly charged with refrigerant during its initial setup. Adding more Puron helped improve performance somewhat.

While cleaning the indoor coil, we discovered a significant amount of water at the bottom of the drain pan. Further investigation revealed that the evaporator coil wasn't pitched correctly towards the drain line, causing condensate to accumulate and leading to corrosion on the waterline in the pan and part of the coil that came into contact with it. Eventually, this could result in the entire drain pan corroding through, leaking onto our furnace.
