David Darmany is incredibly knowledgeable and skillful He washed repaired our beautiful old kilim so wondrfully! He then helped us find two beautiful rugs, Darmany is the real deal...he does great work and his prices are very fair.

I took advantage of my husband's extended absence from the household to get my Tibetan hand-knotted rugs, purchased 24 yrs ago, cleaned. They have been through seven dogs and my yearly cleaning, Febreze & incense no longer did the trick.

Great Work! Our rug was absolutely filthy. Spills, pet stains, ground in soil, you name it our rug had it. Add to that, it was a very light color, so every stain showed. David got all the stains out and did a wonderful job trimming the rug where it had been fraying. I couldn't be happier with his service and the job he did.

David repaired and cleaned a 1920s Tabriz. It was very frayed and coming apart. For a 100+ year old rug it couldn'tlook better. We also had a 20 year old rug cleaned that was in a high traffic area by a door. The color really came back. Highly recommend Darmany.

We bought this Persian kilim rug from Dubai in 2015 and our dog decided to eat a nice chunk of it the first day we put it out. We waited years and finally decided it was time to fix it and finally enjoy it. We brought the carpet to David from Oriental & Persian Rug Cleaning Repair Darmany to fix it and make it perfect again. The owner David walked us through the entire process and told us it would take several months, but with patience he would fix it and make it perfect again. I have seen David's work on YouTube and knew he was the right person for the job. These carpets are handmade and David assured us he would fix it by hand using the same methods and techniques used to make the carpet. Today we picked up our carpet and when I brought it home I could not even tell which side he repaired. When I say the work is immaculate, that is an understatement. This rug meant a great deal to us and David made it right again. Even the cost for such a intricate repair was very fair! Thanks David!!

I have been dealing with David from Darmany for over a decade now. I have a couple of Persian rugs and a few Turkish rugs. He does a really good job at affordable prices; including pick up and delivery. I highly recommend Darmany for all your Persian and Oriental rug needs.

We have used David a few times and are thrilled with his work! He's cleaned two large antique persian rugs, and a thick Restoration Hardware wool rug. All came back in excellent shape and the cleaning was top notch. Plus, when you talk to David, it's obvious he knows a lot about Middle Eastern rugs. A great find.

David's company is one of the very few rug cleaners of Persian rugs that is actually a viable corporation, which I appreciate. Contact was easy, as was scheduling. David arrived on time to view, explain what needed to be done, and pick up the very large, 40 year old Tabriz rug. Very knowledgeable about the history of my rug, which we've had in the family for over 30 years. When we inherited the rug, we also inherited my mother's dog, an aging terrier with a piddle problem. Despite our best efforts in the 8 years of caring for the dog and constantly spot cleaning the rug, when the dog passed, the rug was a mess. It had to go through the wash process and the wringer 6 times. Yes, it took much longer than expected to do the cleaning, but understandably so. It's now back with us, spotlessly clean, colors bright, and without that horrid smell. Highly recommend.

David is an astute and intelligent purveyor of his craft. We started with a single small rug that needed cleaning, and over 15 months David would visit with ideas for carpets throughout our home --- something like six overall; he would drop them off and install them for our consideration, entirely trust-based. If one didn't seem right, back he would come with another idea. He also sent a family heirloom carpet from the 1890s to Iran for rehabilitation, and it was recently returned in beautiful condition. Not a dime was exchanged until only very recently. We are very grateful for having found him -- he is far more than could be adequately advertised, an expert and a mensch in an Old School way you don't encounter very often.

David was very knowledgeable about the type of rug I had… he just looked at it and told me where it origin was. My rug was damaged due to pet stains and after many attempts of cleaning, I ruined part of it. It was gummy and stiff as a board, after David brought it back, it was in gorgeous shape. All of the residue, odor and and stickiness was gone. Super professional, would absolutely recommend and use him for all of my rugs. Also, very affordable pricing as I have used different people in the past, and he is by far the most knowledgeable, experienced with wonderful pricing.

When you find the best you keep going back! David is always prompt and my rugs always turn out great. I had a rug that my puppy ate a chunk out of. We were devastated, we thought it was forever ruined! I had them look at it and they completely restored it!! You couldn't tell there was ever damage!

I have a silk oriental rug that had not been cleaned in 25 years, although it was vacuumed every week and in a room with little foot traffic. Silk rugs must be treated very carefully and I was told spilled liquids can make the colors run. He brought it back looking and smelling like new. In our conversation he told of his training in Iran where he's from and new techniques he's invented. He is passionate about his craft and providing excellent service, which he did.

I used them to wash my wool rug, which had a five years of abuse and spills. The entire process was painless. They came and picked up the rug, cleaned it and brought it back and put it down for me. My rug looks brand new and they were able to get all the stains out including a red wine stain. I highly recommend them.

Darmany Rugs is a godsend if you own beautiful Oriental and Persian rugs that you need repaired and cleaned in Los Angeles. David Darmany is an exacting professional, extremely ethical in his dealings, and trustworthy in advising and executing repairs of cherished heirlooms. I was anxious about having extensive repairs done on my 1930s, 10 x 12' Persian Heriz rug, which David advised be sent overseas to be repaired due to cost--never having done business with Darmany. The effusive 5 star reviews and meeting David in his shop eased my fears. While the entire process took months due to the extent of the repairs combined with Covid obstructions, David and his assistant delivered the rug today. Generously moving furniture and placing it in the living room. I'm amazed at the quality of the workmanship! One cannot tell that the rug was ever damaged or where the damage was on the rug. It all looks original! I'm having David take more rugs now that I see the incredible results and understand the process. You can absolutely trust David Darmany with your most treasured rugs.

We began our relationship with David reading Yelp reviews after buying several very sandy Berber kilim rugs from an antique shop in Portugal. The rugs were very dusty and smelled like a camel.
The edges of one had unique notched triangular fringe and needed refreshing and repairs.
It took several months to work our way thru the cleaning/repairs for all of them but we’re so impressed we had him clean and repair our Chinese Aubusson and Iranian area rugs too, which look like new now!
David has been such a great connection to make. He’s so knowledgeable about the tribes that weave these rugs, highly skilled in executing repairs and reasonably priced, given the labor intensity of his work.
Along the journey we’ve become friendly and he’s shown us some of his treasures he’s reselling, which we eagerly snapped up.

We love the Berber ottoman cover he dropped by with two weeks ago and today he showed us some a couple oversized pillow covers to match. We feel very fortunate to have met David. Our rugs look fantastic, like new, and we are thrilled with his suggestions for our interior decor.
