HVAC reviews in Denver, Colorado

The property management company for my rental house in Denver hired this company for a maintenance call on my wall mounted swamp cooler that had been leaking from the bottom. This company gave a quote for replacement of the entire unit, stating that the water basin "appeared to be cracked on the bottom". The total quote was over $9,000, the price included a $6k markup on a $1k unit + labor. I have since had a second company come out to inspect the unit, this company reported that the leak was caused by the water level being too high, they adjusted the water level and the leak has since stopped. The business practices of this company are either malicious or incompetent.

I used Aaark for many years with good experiences but can no longer recommend them after two experiences.
First, they charged an exorbitant rate—hundreds of dollars higher than prior years for the same service—but didn’t tell me they had raised their rate until AFTER doing the work. When I called to discuss, they acknowledged they didn’t tell me it would be more expensive but said I still had to pay the higher rate. I don’t trust their business practices anymore.
Second, their staff used a generator in my home but didn’t properly ventilate the exhaust, which set off our carbon monoxide alarm. The fire department came, said the carbon monoxide levels were near poisonous, and required everyone to leave the house until enough fresh air had ventilated in. Train your staff better on safety! -
Pleased with AAARK. Not only is Barb receptionist/do all/solve all she is always helpful, considerate, able to get our needs met and is wonderful to talk to.
Also, I have had small issues with various jobs completed by AARK. Some jobs are at the bare minimum. Get it done and leave. Some we have had to have someone come back and clean up or re-do. This is why four stars.
Zack is working on our 65 year old home and doing an incredible job. I am so impressed with his work and work ethic. Every turn with this old house, there are surprises. Zack handles these calmly and professionally. He always advises us of the problem and options. I have a lot more reno and Zack will be the first to call!

Aaark Total Home Services was called for no heat. The 15 year old furnace would have needed $1200 in repairs with no guarantees as to what may break next or when. The furnace was replaced, the 15 year old water heater was replaced preemptively and a new humidifier was put on the unit. A big project that Aaark Total Home Services managed expertly. They had five trucks to the house to get everything done in a day. They took excellent care of the house with runners and clean shoes/boots, and care to not hit anything when hauling old and new equipment. I would highly recommend Aaark for all your home care needs. They do it all and they do excellent work. Joe Nieusma

Your employee in uniform in your company vehicle 11/11/24 after 7am by exit 215 was driving recklessly giving your company a bad look of irresponsible. He is white, bald with a beard and turned into my car almost hitting me. He didn't have his turn signal or wait responsibly for a space to open for him all the way on the outer left lane. I was driving the speed limit, in the right lane and he clearly was missing his stop so he irresponsibly turned multiple lanes to the right at once, into my car so in traffic I had to evasively maneuver my vehicle so I wouldn't get hit by him. Fire him.

This is an overdue review but so happy with the work and service the guys at AAARK provided for us. Me and my husband were looking to convert a basement closet space to a second bathroom and after months of searching, knew we ended up with the right guys after meeting them. They dug up concrete, installed an ejector pit and got all the water lines running for the second bathroom. I also sprung for the warranty and maintenance check and there were a few things along the way they would point out and make other recommendations for which was helpful. Overall, super happy!

What an awful experience! This company is a joke. I can’t believe they actually have good ratings and are still in business. They took advantage of us, overcharged, over promised and under delivered. They are extremely rude and disrespectful!!! Do NOT use AAARK!!!

Unethical - Avoid at All Costs
I made the mistake of hiring this company based on a sticker they left on my AC unit. Save yourself the trouble and read these reviews first—they're all true.
The technician (possibly named Matt/Mike) was rude and grossly overcharged for simple parts and a 10-minute cleaning ($375 for a $17 capacitor, $295 for a quick clean).
The real shock came when he falsely claimed my 2023 furnace had a cracked heat exchanger, citing a carbon monoxide leak from a "pilot light" (which my unit doesn't even have). His meter showed a low reading, but my own professional-grade meter read zero. This was a blatant attempt to scare me into an unnecessary thousand-dollar repair.
The owner was equally unprofessional, refusing to acknowledge any wrongdoing. This company operates on deception. Do not trust them with your home or your safety. -
The team at AAARK are excellent! My home is a prefab from the 50's and NOTHING is an easy project.
My parents have had a variety of jobs done by AAARK and they (and I) have always been impressed by the quality of work, speed of service, and courtesy of the team. There was no question of who I would have perform the jobs.
Jimmy and Stuart upgraded my electrical service and combined two boxes into one. Unfortunately, my home has a very tight crawl space and attic, but they got the job done. They were able to really clean up the look, give me back some space on the wall, and set me up safely for some future home wiring projects.
Once the electrical was done, Travis and Chad were able to haul away my ancient furnace (they said they've only seen that model in the Lenox museum) and install a new, quieter, more efficient unit and thermostat.
While those items were being tackled, Nick and Michael installed a tricky shower door and made sure the majority of the plumbing of my long-term bathroom project were all in order.
The team will be out next week to install an evaporative cooler (6 years without any cooling system!) and I cannot wait to have that done and update this review.
Update 03/31: The team returned today and the evap cooler is installed and looks incredible. Very excited to have relief this year from the heat. It was placed out of sight from the front of the house and the registers are placed seamlessly to provide perfect airflow. -
This is one of the best companies I have worked with in a very long time. Their customer service is exceptional. Barb, thank you for all your patience and getting things scheduled. Matt and Stu are both great technicians. My situation was a hot water heater with a definite issue and this company was amazing in getting it solved. I highly recommend them for any services you need done in your home.

One of the most unprofessional and disappointing experiences I’ve ever had with a contractor.
AAARK Heating, Air & Plumbing installed a tankless water heater in my home about 15 years ago. The original installation was done by an 18- or 19-year-old technician who stated he was the owner’s son.
To be fair, I understand that building and electrical codes can change over the course of 15 years. However, even accounting for that, I’ve since learned there were serious issues with the installation that go beyond simple code updates. During maintenance a couple of years ago, I was told the unit appeared to have been dropped, leaving a visible dent on its side. Additionally, the unit was powered using a long extension cord run across the basement, which is difficult to justify as acceptable workmanship even at the time of installation.
Now that I’m looking into replacement, I’ve been told it will cost $2,200 just to bring the existing setup up to current code, correcting issues tied directly to how the system was originally installed.
When I recently called to ask—calmly and reasonably—whether there was anything AAARK could do to help offset the cost of correcting these issues, the response was unacceptable. Titus, who said he was the owner, called me back and immediately became hostile. Before the conversation even began, he stated there was no way he would help, talked over me repeatedly, told me we were “no longer a customer so it doesn’t matter,” and then hung up on me.
Codes change. Professionalism, accountability, and basic respect should not.
Based on the original workmanship and the way this situation was handled years later, I cannot recommend AAARK Heating, Air & Plumbing. There are other companies that take responsibility for their work and treat customers with basic decency—AAARK is clearly not one of them. -
Knowledgeable, professional, timely and reasonable. Highly recommend.
