Very pushy project manager, attempting to upsell at any opportunity despite very clear direction about what we wanted to do. I'm sure they do good work, but I'd watch out for them if you know what you want.

My experience with them is that they are overpriced and under accomplishing. When the guy who drives their irrigation van is it rude obnoxious immature and extremely sketchy individual who I don't even want to know where I live.

Recommend this company and specifically Mike Polvani. Mike provided very careful management of our yard and was very responsive to its changing needs. Good job overall.

Outdoor Craftsmen did a wonderful job on our project. The end result is even better than we could have imaged. I highly recommend them!

I was not expecting to see another negative review the same day and place, but here we are. Obviously they are upsetting everyone in my Niwot neighborhood. Please talk to your guys, blocking cars in from leaving in unacceptable and unprofessional. Do better. Foxhaven

A few years ago, the owner of this company disparaged our landscaping to my face which was brand new and done by a competitor. Last year, I contacted him to see about possibly making a change to one component of it, but they wouldn’t because the cost would be below $20k.
Then this afternoon, we got solicited for landscape maintenance. The gall, especially considering a neighbor has had bad experience with their overpriced maintenance service.

I highly recommend Outdoor Craftsman to other area property managers. Ask for George Furko, his professionalism and responsiveness is top notch. Thanks Outdoor Craftsman team!

Ed & Caitlyn are both proactive and very responsive. They listen and are attentive with all of our projects. For fall clean-up, the work was immaculate. A neighbor commented that they could eat off of our lawn.

Top notch standards in all aspects. I have not worked with an Outdoor Craftsmen employee that did not give excellent service or do a great job. Even the guys that hand shovel snow for us are polite and hard working.

Finishing up our second project with Outdoor Craftsmen. They also do our maintenance. We went from normal to outstanding on our landscape presentation. Unique elements that are signature to this firm's design style are conversation pieces when people visit. Always excited to show others our property after these enhancements.

Based on our personal experience of 40+ years of owning multiple homes in Boulder County, including two remodels, trying to work with Outdoor Craftsman was by far the worst experience of working with any contractor. Essentially, you are locked into a contract with thousands of dollars invested before you receive any type of estimated final cost. When asked for an estimated cost of the project, we got the evasive answer of "somewhere between $10,000 and $1 million" - when we finally received the estimated cost of the project, it came back at twice our budget. When we decided not to move forward due to the cost, we were handed a final invoice for the balance of the plan, of which we had only received a plan for about a third of the yard. My advice is to know what you are getting into dollar-wise before signing anything.

We love the work Outdoor Craftsmen has done! For us it's been an amazing transformation from an outdoor space we didn't want to be in with a lot of overgrown, ratty volunteer stuff to a beautiful border that accents & sets off our home, and provides an inviting place to spend time. We get as many compliments on the landscaping as the house itself.
It was a great experience from decision through finish. As with any project this size (scraped the whole lot other than large trees to bare dirt) there were some mistakes but more importantly OC stepped up and handled them.
We appreciate the friendliness, courtesy and dedication of the OC crew; they showed so much care in doing the work as if it was their own home.

At the end of 2015 we completed a major re-landscaping project with Outdoor Craftsmen. The project was a complete refresh of our property including building a new backyard paver patio and outdoor kitchen, rebuilding large boulder retaining walls, creating attractive planting space on a very steep, shaded curbside part of our lot, installing new irrigation, sod, trees and plants throughout the property and a new paver driveway to replace our old concrete.

The project took three months to complete (as scheduled) and we are very happy with the work. Their crews were extremely hard working, friendly, respectful, prompt and incredibly skilled. Their attention to detail was stellar. Our project manager was highly attentive to our needs and concerns - whether large or small, throughout the entire project from the design aspect through installation and beyond. He was highly responsive and always available for questions/consultation. He was sensitive to our budget and put forth reasonable options for us to discuss and base decisions on.

We give OC the highest possible recommendation.

Outdoor craftsman did a beautiful job in the creation of our backyard and front yard space. This was a very educational process for us, and I am sure that at times we might have been difficult because we didn’t understand every detail that goes into the planning and execution of a project like this. We were treated with the utmost respect from everyone that they employ from the project manager, to the men who worked on sight. They took care of every detail and thoroughly explained the process to us along the way, all along while being available at any time to answer the numerous questions or concerns that we had.

We have been more than pleased with the landscaping that was done and feel it was worth every penny we put into it. Our family of 5 richly enjoys the backyard and we are out there all the time with each other, which was our goal. It has been awesome to watch the changes occur even as the grasses and plants mature. The front yard went from hated to loved and we are pleased with the ambiance it creates for the entrance of our home. Your suggestions along the way were thoroughly thought out and planned beyond what we would have thought of. Thank you for all of your expertise.

I had three very negative experiences with Outdoor Craftsmen. One in 2011 (which, like a fool, I forgave), one in 2017 and one in 2018.

The sum of my experience with Outdoor Craftsmen is that they overcharged and undelivered and were extremely unprofessional, almost bully-like.

In 2017, I hired them to do pots for my yard and to do cleanup. Their staff would arrive unannounced and prowl through my yard, oftentimes early in the morning, and startle me as I was getting ready for my day. I complained several times.
It was embarrassing to be relaxing and see people I didn't know right outside my bedroom window. Also, they didn't get my approval on work they did and overcharged me significantly. When I informed the manager, he was rude and demanded I pay anyway, even though it hadn't been approved.

Before you even start with them, you need to understand they make you spend thousands of dollars for them to create a design for you and then they force you to let them maintain ownership of the design. So, if something doesn't go well, you are out thousands of dollars and you have *nothing* to show for it. I was very reluctant but the owner told me he had my back and would take care of me. That would prove to be untrue.

In 2017 and 2018, the owner of the company (Scott Deemer) and one of his designers (Chris Holthouser) put together a design for my yard that they called epic. The price was astronomical. Beyond astronomical (over $700,000!!!!!!!!!) and while the design was cool, it certainly wasn't worth $700,000. My budget was $300,000. But when I asked them to create something less expensive, they couldn't make it happen very effectively.

Also, it was getting late in winter, they had forced me to sign a contract saying they owned the design and I felt it would be very difficult for me to start over. So, I swallowed hard, thought about my priorities and decided to just to say yes, believing they would make it totally amazing.

They promised me we would start in Spring 2018 (which was a significant wait for me) but when it came time to start, Scott callously informed me that they booked up their schedule and they wouldn't be able to start my project stating, "The improved economy continues to give us many good projects to develop for our clients" and going on to say their "construction schedule is booked".

This was after I invested thousands of dollars and several months coming up with a unique design with them.

He also went on to say he didn't "feel comfortable taking on a project of this magnitude". This was a design he came up with!!! Then he blamed the city (which he said from Day 1 was totally fine.

So, if you want to sign a totally one sided contract, work with people who are bullies, pay 2X the going rate in the industry, be dropped at a horrible time and be left without your landscaping dreams fulfilled, then consider hiring this company.

But, if you are having second doubts, don't believe me, read the Yelp reviews. You'll see.

Scott and his crew from Outdoor Craftsmen have recently completed a major overhaul of our front and back yards. They gave our yard a lot more depth and character, introducing boulders and steel-work, along with lots of unique and interesting trees and plants.

What's even more spectacular is an outdoor fire pit and pergola they designed and built. Those projects are so artistic and beautiful, along with being functional.

The work crews and foreman were always punctual and eager to take care of requests and concerns. They were more expensive than their competitors, but I think totally worth it in the level of craftsmanship, artistry, flexibility and professionalism.

After a year and a half remodel and being out of our house, our yard was completely torn up. We were very involved in the house remodel and by the time we were done and moved back in, we were exhausted. We met with Scott Deemer and told him we were open to ideas. Our designer was Chris Holthouser and he came up with some incredibly unique ideas. We looked at his ideas and tweaked them a bit with our own thoughts and that was it!!! What he did was amazing!! We had to make so many decisions in the house remodel, it was nice to sit back and let them do what they do best. Everyone was professional and respectful of our privacy while they worked in our yard. No loud music and no daily trash to pick up. They kept us informed of the progress and it came out GREAT. We were so happy with the plants, landscaping and hardscapes. We can now sit back and enjoy our beautiful house AND our beautiful landscaping. Several of our neighbors have since hired Outdoor Craftsman after seeing what they did to our house and their homes look amazing, too.

We have worked with Outdoor Craftsmen since 2016 to design, implement and maintain our landscaping project. Our 10 year old house on a 1 acre lot had minimal "builders" landscaping when we purchased it. We wanted to create an outdoor living space that incorporated flowering plants, mature evergreens and native elements.

When Scott Deemer first looked at our space, he quickly realized what we wanted and created a design to accomplish our goals. This was a large, complicated, and time-consuming project, the results of which we ultimately were and are very pleased with.

Attention to quality and detail is a hallmark of the company. Outdoor Craftsmen is just what its name suggests.
