From the initial interview with Isaac and working with the project manager and designer all went smoothly and any time I had questions, they were quick to respond. There were no surprises along the way and if we needed to make a change, the process was discussed and seamless. I would work with Isaac and Nickelson Construction again! We worked with Nickelson Construction for our full basement finish and cannot recommend them highly enough. We turned our 600 sqft basement into a conforming bedroom, a 3/4 bathroom, and a living room with a wet bar. Nickelson Construction was great at communication throughout the project, which was our initial reason for choosing them. They were clear about the cost and stayed within budget and schedule. We could not be happier with our sunroom addition and deck by Nickelson Construction! The entire team was a pleasure to work with from the first consultation through the final reveal. They were able to take our ideas and concepts and guide us throughout the entire process from the initial design to final construction. The construction superintendent, Steven, kept us informed every step of the way and promptly addressed our questions or concerns. We chose Nickelson Construction for our 2021 home addition after interviewing and receiving estimates from over a dozen contractors. They weren’t the lowest estimate, but neither were they the highest. They won the job because their estimate was the most transparent and detailed, they were the best at communication, and they were willing to customize against our budget in an honest, thorough manner. From the first estimate, Isaac indicated that his goal was a limited number of change orders through the course of the project so that we stayed on budget. He knows what he’s doing because once all was said and done we only had a total of three minor change orders that were completely because of us as homeowners changing our minds on a feature.

Even during a pandemic when labor and supplies were in short supply, the project stayed mostly on schedule and within budget. The quality of the workmanship was above reproach and, in the couple instances we asked for a rework or change, it was done without hesitation and to our satisfaction. We lived in our house with small children through the renovation and here are some highlights that made this possible:
Great communication was maintained throughout the project, streamlined through a competent and thorough project manager.
A consistent schedule was maintained and our own needs as homeowners were considered.
The subcontractors that were brought onsite were professional and courteous.

When we decided to build our mountain home, we were both excited and a little nervous because it’s such a big project, and you hear so many horror stories about builders. But working with Nickelson Construction was honestly a dream from start to finish.
We wanted a smaller, modern home inspired by Scandinavian design (we’re from Denmark), and they completely understood our vision down to the clean lines, minimalist approach, and energy efficiency. Every step of the process felt collaborative. They were always transparent, always communicative, and genuinely cared about getting it right.
They told us the build would take between five and eight months — and they finished in six. There were no surprise costs, no excuses, just honest hard work and great organization. Our home is not only beautiful and solid, but it definitely feels like us.

Nickelson did an amazing job from start to finish with our big kitchen remodel! Clear and timely communication was important to us, and both Isaac and Stephen were excellent communicators. The budget and timeline were accurate, so there were no big surprises along the way. They set realistic expectations, were highly knowledgeable, and had very good attention to detail. The quality of work is absolutely stellar. I really have no complaints - any issues that arose were pretty minor and were promptly addressed. I would 100% recommend Nickelson for remodels and/or new builds; we hope to work with them again in the future!

Amazing construction experience. I am a former contractor and I will say Nickelson Construction was a fantastic choice. They are extremely thorough throughout the project and most importantly always updating on schedule and keeping us posted on progress. All of the sub contractors were extremely polite and engaging. And I could not leave out the lead supervisor Steve. He was amazing and very informative on any questions or concerns we had. I highly recommend Nickelson Construction.

My husband and I worked with Beto and his crew to finish our basement and a couple of other projects around our home. He and his crew were prompt, reliable, professional, and his prices were more than reasonable.

We had a direct line of communication to Beto and could reach out if we had any questions or needed further explanation on something. When any issues arose, he already had solutions to offer and was able to quicky problem solve. He was patient and understanding of our county's code and the required inspections that can potentially delay a project.

Beto and Leo did an addition to my house and finished my basement as well. They did an extremely good job making sure my house was covered from all the dust and debris. The whole crew was efficient and well mannered. I will be using AHC for all my future projects and also refer them to anyone looking for house remodeling ( they also have so much experience in other trades like roofing and siding)

AHC has done multiple projects for me. They have been fair, up front, and easy to work with, and always quick to make corrections if there is something that needs addressing.

I engaged the services of this individual and incurred a cost of $21,000; however, he did not provide any receipts for the transactions. I advise caution when working with Beto, as he has shown tendencies to misrepresent facts and misappropriate funds from clients. It is essential to request documentation for all payments made. Additionally, he often circumvents essential processes; for instance, he replaced my siding without addressing the underlying insulation, seemingly under the impression that I would remain unaware. This approach appears to be a strategy to increase his profit margins.

Furthermore, he exhibits a lack of oversight regarding his staff's work, failing to verify the quality of their performance. His professionalism is questionable, as he reacts insensitively to constructive criticism and attempts to alter agreed-upon pricing during the course of a project. This behavior compromises the quality of service he delivers. It is crucial to meticulously document all interactions and services performed, as he may exploit inconsistencies in communication to his advantage. He stated that he incurred expenses amounting to $480 for a particular step, yet he has declined to provide evidence for the items he purchased. Additionally, he retained $100 from the $400 I paid him for completing the job. It is important to note that all materials on the deck that are brown were supplied by me, not by him. Moreover, he has failed to take the necessary measures to address the issues with the stairs, which remain unaddressed in their current condition.

DBS was the general contractor on our basement finish project. We had 890 sqft finished to include a full bath, bedroom, mechanical room, under-stair storage, and a family room complete with a wet bar. Solid craftsmanship throughout the project to include the subs for plumbing, electrical, and drywall. DBS keeps a clean work area, was on-time and attentive, and truly cared about our project. A number of homes in our neighborhood were doing basement finishes this summer and our project finished weeks-to-months sooner. Cost-to-craftsmanship ratio is superb. Highly recommend DBS.
