75% of the time I call Couture Custom Landscaping and Outdoor Living, I receive voicemail. I have not actually experienced their work ethic or quality, no one showed up or called regarding our appointment for someone to come out and provide a bid to remodel our outdoor pond and patio area. I called the company after they were an hour late, I was told that he (I believe the owner) remembers seeing my appointment on the books for next week, and he needed to call his wife and he would call me right back. I never received a return phone call. Time is valuable, if you don't want to do a job, simply state that, or refer the lead to another company. I wasn't going to write this review so soon, but after reading some additional reviews on this company, It's best I just move on and find a company that will be more than happy to take on the job and do a great job. Another detail that put a bad taste in my mouth, after looking into this company further is the amount of different phone numbers (I found 4 without really looking) that are listed on local websites.

I would give six stars if I could. Couture Custom Landscaping came and remodeled our backyard and transformed it into a thing of beauty. They removed the pre-existing concrete patio and replaced it with a two tier patio. We love being able to host gatherings where guests can hangout around the bar and built in grill and mini fridge. When the sun goes down we enjoy kicking our feet up on the fire pit and relaxing with a beer in hand. The exterior of the property is lined with beautiful hand picked plants and trees that are carefully placed in correspondence to where the sunny and shady spots are throughout the day. Couture Custom Landscaping (CCL) is incredibly detailed in their craftsmanship and we loved working with them. We would highly recommend CCL to our friends and family, as well as our neighbors in Fort Collins.

Dustin redesigned our landscape plan to include a beautiful round patio, attached curved stairs with a grilling patio at the top of the stairs . The impact was significant. He optimized the view of the mountains and by moving the patio, we can now see it from inside the house. Its beautiful!

Dustin was excellent at helping us to plan and execute projects in our yard. His crew was professional, friendly, and cleaned up nicely. They were very helpful. Highly recommended.

Haunted – still – with one of the worst landscape contractor experiences of our lives. We hired Dustin / Couture Custom Landscaping last summer for a complete back yard in Kechter Farm. The project was estimated at 2-3 weeks but took months. Now, almost a year later, we are still dealing with the disappointment and financial fallout.

• Every single tree was planted too low. They are now dead, dying or diseased as a result. Our largest and most expensive Bosnian Pine is dead because it was planted in a path of drainage. It sat in an 8” pool of water and died. All the other trees have to be dug up, raised, and sprayed to prevent further disease and/or death. This was confirmed by Lindgren, Fort Collins Tree Care, and Harmony Gardens. The corrective action on the trees alone is going to cost us ~ 2K.

• Dustin / Couture Custom Landscaping also poured our concrete patio incorrectly. It was poured during a rain storm. It wasn’t poured to Fort Collins city code, which states it must drain away from the house at a 2% grade. Instead it slopes towards the house and has puddles up to ½” deep.

• Sprinklers heads were placed at random locations and were not very well thought out– some areas get way too much water due to overlap and others get barely enough (dead spots are evident). Some trees had drip lines but no emitter. Some trees had drip lines and emitters but were placed downhill from the tree.

I could go on, but won’t.

I’m also happy to discuss further with anyone who wants the details. Reach out anytime. The work performed by Dustin / Couture Custom Landscaping Fort Collins was amateur and negligent.

It’s costing us thousands to fix their mistakes and redo what most other Fort Collins landscape companies would have gotten right the first time.

Update to previous post: If I could give negative stars I would because our landscaping project has become a nightmare! We are now in a dispute with our HOA regarding the project, due in part to Dustin's failure to submit complete plans, in a timely manner to the Design Review Committee. In addition, many of the plants that were planted did not survive the winter and we have tulips blooming in the middle of the yard because the area that was changed from a flower bed to turf obviously just got covered over rather than prepared appropriate, which is also why the grass won't grow (it's planted over rocks). The garden beds are a disaster because they were built up over rocks rather than dug down below the edging line so all the mulch and rocks have washed out during the winter.

We are happy with the appearance of our landscaping that was done, however, we have come to realize that the underlying workmanship is very poor. Areas where mulch was installed to replace rock, were simply covered with weed barrier and a thin layer of mulch, leaving 3-6 inches of rock below the surface, which makes additional planting difficult and plants are struggling to survive. The drip line that was installed has drip spots poorly placed and numerous plants have failed due to lack of irrigation. The plants that were planted were not very diversified, although I take partial responsibility for this because I left that decision up to the contractor, rather than being very specific about my desires. I contacted Dustin but got no response.

Dustin did the landscaping for our new home. There were many, many mistakes...drip lines down hill from plants, missing drip lines, poor sprinkler installation, drainage issues, dead plants, cracking filler etc. After chasing him for a year to make the necessary repairs, I finally put a negative review on Google and heard from him immediately. He agreed to complete the necessary work if I'd remove the negative review from Google.

I changed the review but continued to have to chase him to get the work done. In addition, many of the plants he replaced have again died due to drainage problems. Filler for the stone stairs and walk that he guaranteed would never crack is cracking in many places. Note that 3 of the positive reviews were placed in the past month by people who have yet to see dead plants, drainage problems, cracking/settling issues. I DO NOT recommend using Couture. He's totally unresponsive and his workmanship is terrible.

I hired them to replace my worn wood patio with a stone patio, and after discussion they also replaced my window well! They came up with good solutions to concerns I had.
The work was well done, and they were responsive to my questions.

The recent update to our yard by Dustin and his team went so well.
We added a patio, plantings, large boulders, and a flagstone pathway.
Also, we had purchased a firepit from a dealer in Denver, that Dustin incorporated into the design and helped install.
No problems, no hassles, just work done well!

My backyard is beautiful.
I am soooooooo pleased.
Currently I am saving for a Bubble Rock. Everyone needs one!

We hired Couture Custom Landscaping to do an outdoor area that included a rock retaining wall, big pergola, hot tub recessed into the ground and a gas fire pit area. Other than starting three days late, these guys did a great job!!! They were done on time, professional, and even came back to do touch ups a month after without having to call them over and over...

The work done for me by Couture Custom Landscaping was of very high quality. Even a small problem, after installation, that was brought to their attention was attended to the very next day. The entire staff was friendly, hard working and committed to customer service. I would recommend them highly for any landscaping job a potential client might have.

My experience with Couture Custom Landscaping and Outdoor Living was fantastic! I had a vision and when I shared it with the owner Dustin he immediately understood what I wanted to do. This was a big job and his crew did a great job and were wonderful to work with. This was a beautiful addition to my home and I would highly recommend this company!

Dustin and his crew did an amazing job adding flagstone to both our front porch and back patio. They were very easy to work with, were punctual, and we were thrilled with the results. They also added some extra outdoor lighting and did some other nice landscaping touches. They were very professional and reliable. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone needing quality work done.

The project went perfectly. We took competitive bids and Couture was best in all categories. Dustin is an excellent designer with great vision. Garrett is an artist and with Jorge, Peter and Lindsay, they're a professional, dedicated, hard-working, extremely thorough, pleasant and congenial team. Our project was a challenge: remove a complex root system and move tons of matter out and transport tons of material in while avoiding and modifying a series of sprinkler systems. We had very exacting specs, yet needed a great deal of their expert advice. They worked with us and delivered a beautiful patio with construction precision that exceeded our hopes. We're very grateful and appreciative. Plus, did I say they're great people? You can't beat this team. Absolutely recommended without reservations.

Couture Landscaping has done few projects for me over the years and they have always done an excellent job. Dustin is a very personable contractor that has great ideas and a willingness to make all of our ideas come to reality. They aren't the cheapest, but are worth every penny if you are wanting to enjoy your yard and outdoor living spaces for a lifetime.

I was very impressed with the work that Dustin and his crew did on my multi-week patio, deck, and front entry remodel project. From our first meeting, Dustin showed me that he had the experience, expertise, equipment, and manpower required for my project. There may be landscape contractors out there who work cheaper but I was interested in quality work at a fair and reasonable price and Couture Landscaping gave me that and more. Dustin's suggestions and design work were on target with what I wanted, as were his cost estimates. He worked with me on every phase of the project, keeping me up to date, suggesting possible changes to improve the design and function as the project moved forward, and incorporating my own ideas and suggestions. His crew worked hard to minimize noise, dust, and clutter and cleaned the site and the street in front of my house every evening before leaving. After the project was completed, Dustin stopped by three or four times to check up on the water feature and the plantings to ensure everything was in good condition and working well. Four of my neighbors were so impressed with his work that they hired him for their own projects after he had finished with mine. I would not hesitate to highly recommend Couture Landscaping to my friends.

It was a pleasure working directly with Dustin and his team from the design phase through execution and follow-up activities for our hardscape/landscaping project. From the more traditional natural stone patio wall and flagstone walkway construction to the unique firepit perimeter enhancement utilizing massive sandstone boulders with cut natural stone benches interspersed, we found the workmanship and attention to detail to be impeccable. This was our second and likely not our last project with Couture and we recommend Dustin and his team!

We have used Brooks Landscaping for our spring clean up. The team did a wonderful job of cleaning up the dead foliage, trimming up bigger bushes and debris removal.

We are happy to recommend Brooks! They were professional, communicated well, and did beautiful work with installing a large paver patio and two paths for us. Matthew also did a great job helping us visualize and design our landscaping and overseeing the project. His team was courteous, friendly, informative and hardworking through the entire project. We were impressed all the way around!
