Greg was amazing to work with. This isn’t the first time we’ve built a patio on one of our homes, but this was by far the most amazing experience. From helping guide me through the permit process to staying in communication of when materials would arrive and be built, working with Greg and his team was effortless and enjoyable. We love the quality of our patio and appreciate Greg’s recommendations to make sure it was right for our home.

I’ve waited 30 years for a patio and decided we were ready to put one in. Greg and his crew did a great job on our backyard BBQ and bar top area (work included concrete demo and re-pour, electrical/lighting, natural gas addition and a small pergola-type structure). Greg was prompt in all phases of the job, even starting the job a few weeks earlier than we had originally planned. I generally knew what I wanted, but Greg was more than willing to provide guidance on the various design/construction elements. His masonry/concrete guys (brothers, Felix and Jose) were awesome...they worked extremely hard, paid attention to all the details and were very courteous. My family is very happy with the final work product and would definitely recommend Sunset Construction.

Greg took our pencil drawing ideas and turned it into a beautiful reality for us. The winding concrete walkways leading to our custom built covered patio, complete with lights and a fan, a great bbq area and sitting wall are all just perfect. We are looking forward to enjoying a lot of time in our new yard thanks to you and your great crew. I had Sunset Construction build a retaining wall and fire pit, run electrical and gas lines, including pre-wire for a hot tub, and pour walkways throughout the backyard. Greg and his team were easy to work with, timely, and communicative. He was also very accommodating when a couple of changes came along. I always feared working with contractors for such a large project, but those fears quickly melted away as soon as I met with Greg, and my backyard has been turned into a small piece of paradise where I look forward to hosting family and friends. This review is not based on cost. Everyone has a different opinion of what things should cost. This review is based on professionalism, outstanding detail in Greg's contract, and the results delivered as promised. Greg of Sunset Construction is an excellent communicator, and a true gentleman in business. His crew was clean, quick, polite, and very happy. They love what they do and it showed. Crews are often messy and wild. Greg is a Veteran and his leadership skills are obviously passed to the crew. Moral and enthusiasm in Greg's company made this an enjoyable project.

Contract was arranged, communicated and project was underway. Timeline was met and the result has exceded my expectation. Great Veteran Owned Business to work with. I will never look to another company in the future.

I had a very large backyard living area drawn up professionally and when it came time to call over who I felt were qualified contractors that specialized in big backyard living spaces I was striking out. I had several outdoor contractors come. Some priced it so high I'd swear they were just trying to get rid of me.
Others wouldn't even bother getting back with a quote. Others lead me on to believe they were going to do it just to back out last minute. Much of my time was wasted. I understand to an extent because what I wanted wasn't going to be easy. It was going to take a lot of work and dedication to get it done properly, which is not the usual small job and move onto the next situation. I contacted Greg with Sunset Construction and
encouraged him he could do the job and have my full cooperation to work with him if issues with my plan arise. Greg didn't try taking advantage of me. Affordable backyard construction was something I thought would be impossible but he quoted me better than fair.
Greg was in the back yard nearly every day he sent workers. He literally wasted no time and was blunt with his communications and actions, while still being a total friend. He also put up with my last minute changes.
It was about 4-5 days of cement work alone.
The outdoor cement stairs turned out beautiful. 5-6 days of masonry work for the seat walls / planter boxes and amazing outdoor bbq kitchen or outdoor bbq island (whatever they are called). The pergolas and patio cover turned out great. Really the pictures speak for themselves. Just look at my backyard. Greg is the first contractor I've ever hired that I didn't need to watch to make sure things were getting done properly. He turned my vision into a reality. It was a blessing to have found him.

Greg of Sunset Construction helped us with information needed for pulling permits. He communicated and coordinated with our grading contractor. He was patient with us and worked around permits and weather. Sunset Construction set the foundations and pad for a structure we had purchased. The workers were professional and got the job done efficiently.

Found Sunset Construction through Google reviews, called them in for a quote, and received a bid by the next day. Got a few bids from multiple companies, but the level of detail and attentiveness that was in Greg’s conversations and bid made us go with him. Did landscaping all around the house - concrete, turf, plants, stones, irrigation, etc. Project was completed before the estimated date even with rainfall cutting them short a few days of labour. We’re extremely happy and satisfied with the final look. “Perfect” is the word to describe the communication, workmanship, and pricing Sunset Construction, Greg, and his team have provided us with. 100% recommend!

I cant say enough good things about Greg and his crew! You can see from the photos that they do fantastic, top notch work and they were clean and careful of my property. At the end of each day they cleaned up and even watered my grass and plants in the summer heat. Greg supervised fully and they made sure to guide me with design and color choices so I got exactly my vision. Greg and I negotiated a fair price and he communicated with me on any additional work that was needed or suggested. I appreciated that he made recommendations for things that I would not have thought of which added to my vision. As you can see from the photos I really did get everything I wanted and more, and now I have a beautiful and more useful backyard even with such a small space! If you are looking for a fair, honest contractor with a crew you can count on, this is the company for you.
