David Weekley hires good people to manage their homes and projects. Their practice of putting interior studs at 24” and further is
ridiculous. In Texas where we have tornados it is an area that shouldn’t be economized. I bought my home brand new, but didn’t get to see the construction process as it was a community close out. After trying to hang TV’s in the center of the room, or attach things to walls I become quite exasperated with trying to find a stud. If I had known they were spacing studs like this I wouldn’t have bought this home.

I purchased home in December 2023. So far had 4 water leak and electrical issues.

1. In Garage from roof. Entire garage and drywall is damaged. They fixed it
2. For 2 times my secondary bedroom was flooded during rains from a roof leak causing electric issues and drywall damages
3. In the kitchen I had a water leak due to plumbing issue
4. Now the electrical circuits are malfunctioning and appliances are damaged.

Very disappointed for such improper construction.

This is one of the worst experiences we had. The sales guy here was so rude and arrogant.

This will be the second home I built from scratch in the past 5 years. Christopher and Wes with Southgate Homes 50’ have been outstanding every step of the way with weekly updates, detailed & precise expectations of work, high quality materials, timely responses and the list goes on. We hired a 3rd party inspector for every competed phase thus far and after each inspection he has given high praises for the work completed. We are building a Lakewood 3 elevation B and can’t wait for the final walkthrough.
