Excellent work. Installed a new pool liner for our pool, and went through 2 liners that didn't fit correctly before finally being satisfied with the 3rd. I appreciate a company who refuses to do subquality work that they would be pleased with in their own homes. And they even worked in the rain in time to finish the job by the time we wanted it done. Also, after having them analyze our pool water and recommend the right chemicals, our water has never been so clear, and we haven't had a touch of algae this summer. Will definitely use their services again.

Justin was excellent to work with from ordering to delivering and installing our fiberglass pool. He and his crew made a trip to Indiana to complete the job. I have greatly appreciated his communication and follow through on this job. Highly recommend his company.

Buying and installing a pool is overwhelming if you've never done it before. American Pool & Spa went above and beyond all expectations to demystify the whole process for us.

There are a lot of moving parts coordinating electricians, concrete guys, landscapers, the fiberglass pool shell, county inspectors, etc. and these guys helped us through each step.

Justin was our main contact and he patiently answered all 173 questions I texted him during the project. Really the whole team was super friendly and accommodating. My kids sort of became friends with the crew installing the pool and even said "I'll miss those guys" when it was all over.

Their pricing wasn't the lowest of the bids we considered but it was competitive and based on how I've heard other pool projects have gone for friends and neighbors, any little bit more we might have paid was well worth the peace of mind knowing we had a top notch crew doing the work. We just finished our 2nd swimming season with the pool and there have been no quality issues whatsoever. I know if any quality issues were uncovered, they would have fixed any mistakes with no hassle.

I rarely write reviews online but these guys exceeded all expectations so I had to spend a few minutes to share my experience with others. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

I have been a customer of American Pool for quite a few years. I always have had superior service in all my pool needs over those years. I allow them to open and close my pool every year, as well as purchasing my chemicals and having the water tested regularly. I fully trust their advice and services and highly recommend them if you are looking for reputable service.

Note this experience is from 2019. Editing my review because it went bad to worse. After posting this review, they contacted me and set up an appointment to come out. My spouse stayed home from work to wait. They never showed up! I called and they forgot about us AGAIN! They finally came out and replaced a filter free of charge for all the inconveniences. Here's where it gets great: the OWNER called me and wanted us to pay for the filter and labor after reassuring us it was free. He argued with my husband until I took the phone, because I was the one who had been dealing with Addy and their male manager. The owner then proceeded to brag to me, multiple times about how his company serviced no less than 3,000 pools in Richmond and they had so much business and on and on. Not three hundred, three thousand. It was extremely unprofessional and ridiculous. Only after I put my foot down about not paying for a darn thing, including dates, times, and names of people I spoke to did he back down. It was a nightmare start to finish. Absolutely unprofessional. Pay extra to get someone from Lexington in if you have to, just don't deal with these clowns. I seriously doubt there are 3,000 pool owners in Richmond. At least make your lies believable.

I called this place this past Monday and spoke to Addy or Abby. I needed someone to come out and service my pool. She told me it would probably be later in the week and she would call me Tuesday and let me know. She also asked me to send photos of my filter to their email account, which I did. I have not received one single email or phone call and no one has been out to my home. Very disappointing first experience with this place.

APS responded and met my needs in a timely fashion and was in communication with us every step of the project. As scope of work adjusted (as with all construction projects) they were able to pivot and cover additional areas such as tree removal and patio door replacement. I would work with them again

We purchased a pre fabricated fiberglass pool package in early 2022. Morgan did a great job explaining options/features, planning the layout and providing CAD renderings of our pool area and patio extension making it easy to visualize the end result. Everyone from American Pool & Spa went out of their way to ensure we were happy at each step of the installation process through to completion. I personally witnessed much of the installation and was impressed by the quality and care demonstrated by "the team"! John and Steve returned earlier this week to winterize the pool and install our cover ....as expected, they did an excellent job! We are very happy with our pool and highly recommend American Pool & Spa.

Had Cody the tech come over to help me diagnose what was wrong with my heater….. he said the circuit board was bad and the heat exchanger was bad…. Service call 140.00. He advise they would help me check on my warranty!!!! A month later no calls from this company so I went back and asked why Cody had not replied and Yolanda advise me that they are busy….To busy to give a call back? I have never heard the such…. To busy to call a customer back? Shameful and Sad. I started letting them open and close my pool last year and I buy all my pool supplies from them…. But why spend money with them if they can’t even call me back on my heater…

They installed my inground saltwater fiberglass pool 3 years ago and did an outstanding job! The design is beautiful and I have had zero problems with the pool. They do an excellent job maintaining the pool. They crew is professional and courteous. I love my pool! Thank you, Justin and staff!

American Pool and Spa did our pool closing for us this year. They were very professional, efficient and kind! We are very pleased with their services and will definitely use them again.

American Pool & Spa is a great place for all your pool needs! With just a small water sample they were able to get me everything I needed to turn my pool water from green to crystal clear, and then maintain the clarity. I would definitely recommend American Pool & Spa for all your pool needs!!

The pool is exactly what was promised and installed quickly! Justin and Tommy were great to work with—clear communication, responsive, and professional throughout. Treated our project like their own. Definitely recommend.

It is now Monday, 6 days since I was assured I would receive a call back and have a service provider dispatched to my house.
The secretary has reached out to me and informed me that a service provider will be scheduled for “sometime this week”.

At this point in the phone call she places me on hold for about 2 minutes before returning and stating that they are booked out for more than two weeks but that the issue I’m describing should not worsen in that time and so I still want to schedule that far in advance. I say yes.
I am then placed on hold again for a few minutes and when she returns she says to me “Actually, we see that you left a 1 star review so we will not be able to service your pool at this time.” She then hung up on me.

Idk exactly how to review this company as I never received any services from them. But this is exactly what’s leading me to leave this review.
I placed my first call for pool servicing on a Friday. The phone was answered but I was told by the man who answered that he was service provider and was unable to schedule me for servicing because his secretary was out of the office for the week. He stated that she would be back on Monday and she would contact me on Monday to schedule my services.
I received no call on Monday and for the entirety of the day on Tuesday.
I called again at the end of the day on Tuesday, the secretary answered and explained that she had been catching up on all the calls she missed the prior week and that she just had not gotten to me yet. But she apologized and took my explanation of what was going on and what services I needed.
She took my contact information and assured me she would call me back the following morning (Wednesday) and that service provider would likely be scheduled for the following day as well.
I received no call on Wednesday morning or at any point during that day.
I called back Thursday morning and left a message. Nobody called back Thursday or Friday. I called again Friday at the end of the business day and there was no answer again.
So I gave up.

They must not want the business.

Recent construction of pavers around our pool deck required removal and replacement of our pump and heater. Justin and his crew coordinated with the construction company and the project was completed in a timely manner and it looks great. American Pool gives expert guidance in keeping my pool clean and balanced. I highly recommend this company.

Professional service, quality products. Friendly staff. Convenient location and hours. One stop shop. They set up not only the pool, but coordinated electric and concrete. Also installed our fence. Love our pool. Use it almost daily! Relax at home

My wife and I just purchased a house and the pool, pump, and filter had all been neglected a bit due to no one residing there all summer. We had no idea where to begin because neither of us had ever maintained a pool before and we wanted to have it ready for our first weekend in the house with all of our children. We stopped in here and Yolanda not only told us where we needed to start to clean the pool but helped us figure out what kind of filter we had, how to clean it, and told us everything we needed. We were in this place every single day, bringing her water samples, getting chemicals, and learning about all the different levels and where they needed to be. In just THREE DAYS our pool went from a koi pond to a beautiful, clean, and fun pool. It's rare these days to find someone in customer service that actually has the knowledge and drive to do the job correctly but she goes above and beyond every single time and was a pleasure to work with. We are customers for life. Thank you so much!!!

American Pool & Spa did a fantastic job on our new liner. And they got it done in time for the week-long grandchildren's visit. They were as worried about getting it done on time as I was! The liner is perfect - not a wrinkle or crease anywhere. These people know what they are doing! And they do roofing too. Great company, great, friendly, service!

Huge shoutout to Justin “Waggs”Waggoner of American Pool and Spas for getting our pool in shape so quickly!!! We brought up the deep end and went from this to that in less than 2 weeks! I appreciate all of you and all of your hard work, especially in 100 degree temps! You guys are Rockstars💙

Last summer American Pool and Spa built a start to finish pool for us. Overall, it was a really good experience. We have a pool location that made the job challenging, but they were able to make it happen. There were a few problems that arose throughout the project, but the owner was really great about communicating and was willing to work through them with us.

This will be our first full summer in the pool, so we’ll see how it goes, but as of now, we ended up with a beautiful final product, and we would recommend this company. They also closed our pool in the fall, and we will use them to open in the Spring.

Also, the front office is easy to access for information and water testing which is important because we’re new to pool ownership.

When we started the pool building process, we knew we wanted to talk to and evaluate several builders in the area. One of those was American Pool & Spa based on a recommendation from a neighbor. Justin and his team came out and talked us through their process, experience in the industry, and portfolio of work showcased on their website. They were very knowledgeable and had years of experience more than others we evaluated. After speaking with 4 different builders, we knew that Justin and American Pool & Spa were the right fit for our project. Justin and his team were very responsive as we worked through the various aspects of our pool design which not only included the fiberglass pool and pool deck, but also a covered pavilion and garage. They addressed all our questions on design and equipment, and worked to provide our final rendering of the project before moving forward. Overall, it was a pretty smooth process. One thing we appreciated was that they provided all our options but never pressured us to upgrade or choose the most expensive options. They kept our budget in mind throughout the project. Once the designs were finalized Justin and his team got to work. American Pool & Spa took care of practically everything, which was great. We just sat back and watched the process. While I would like to say everything went according to plan, I have learned with any construction project there are typically some hiccups. When they arise, that is when you truly see the character of the company. Justin and his team handled things like the pros that they are, working through the hiccups to find solutions. They weren’t satisfied until we were satisfied, and they stood behind the work they completed. We got to enjoy the pool this past summer, and we are so excited about the final product! Overall, Justin and his team at American Pool & Spa were great to work with, and we are glad we chose them to complete our pool project. We would highly recommend them!
