Derek with Mark Allen contracting has taken such great care of us here after this hurricane situation here in Augusta. Seriously! So much thanks to Derek for going above and beyond, exceptional care from Derek! Thanks for being so amazing during these trying times in Augusta!

Justin and Derek did a great job on remodeling our basement into an apartment. They were very efficient and got the job done on a fast timeline. Thry were very thoughtful in their design suggestions. The kitchen and bathroom they built are absolutely gorgeous and super high quality and professional. I was particularly impressed with the bathroom design. They were very thoughtful in maximizing space in a small room and ended up installing a curb less shower that feels like my own personal spa. It is modern, simple, and beautiful. They were always responsive to my questions and they got the job done quickly even though it was around the winter holidays. Thenwhole team was very friendly and it was clear that they are highly skilled and experienced.

I called this contractor on November 12, 2024 because of damage to our ceilings following Helene. On November 13 they came out to survey the damage so they could give us an estimate. We didnt hear anything for a while so I started calling them. I called, and called and called, leaving a detailed message with name, address, phone numbers and dates every time to make it easier on them to be able to find our records and give us a call back. To this day, December 6, we STILL have not heard anything from them. Not a call back, not an estimate, nothing. Do not call, hire, or have any dealings with this company because they do not know how to do business. If I could leave them ZERO stars I would.

I highly recommend Mark Allan Contractors! My husband and I have a rental duplex that had extensive damage from a tree falling on it. Justin came out, spent a lot of time reviewing the damage and gave us a free estimate. He was very courteous and professional. Absolutely 5 stars!

Hurricane disaster to entire neighborhoods in my area. Derek took the time to listen to my needs and promised he have his electrician at my house the next day to install a mast pole. He delivered!!! Derek is very personable, easy to talk to and genuinely cares about the people needing his help!!
I would without a doubt use him again.

Hired this company to do some work on a house in the HAMILTON MILL AREA, very dissatisfied!! They were suppose to clean my gutters and stop a water leak but instead they just patch up some wood and had my gutters on the ground. One piece of my gutter was missing which was very disturbing (see the photos). I had to hire somebody else to fix this water issue and seal up the area they missed. Also my back gutters are getting clogged which means they never cleaned them. I have Paint all over my shrubs and they were suppose to paint my front door and did a horrible job. Told company I was going on vacation and to not have anybody perform any work on my home while I was away but they did so anyways. Only positive contribution was a trash out!

Was hoping to get quality work because of the reviews but got the complete opposite. Will never hire again!!

Mark Allen Contracting coordinated our repairs after Hurricane Helene. Justin Upchurch was very helpful in communicating with our insurance company. Our repairs were completed much more quickly than we expected. It was comforting after such devastation in our area.
I would use Mark Allen Contracting for renovations in the future.

Justin from was fantastic to work with. Very professional, always, on-time, keep me informed, and fairly priced. We needed to convert a bathtub into a walk-in shower with grab rails for my elderly mother. The 3 bathtub walls were the original tiles from when the home was built in 2004, which we wanted to leave in place. Mark brought back a number of tiles to choose from, with one being a very close match. Anyway, he removed and hauled away the old tub, installed the new shower pan, installed the new tile on the lower walls where the tub was, matched the grout perfectly, and installed the sliding glass doors. He also replaced the toilet for us. The job came out perfectly. He will be my first choice for any future project. Thank you Mark Allan Contracting!

This company was a lifesaver for me. I live in Augusta and my neighborhood was one of the hardest hit by Helene. So many huge trees hit my house. Two of them hit the front of my house head on. Busted out huge window and my entire living room ceiling fell in and water was pouring through.! All my furniture was ruined. I had numerous huge trees hit my roof all over. Needless to say I needed a new roof and the did a fabulous job. My chimney cover was damaged as well and water was pouring into the fireplace. They fixed that s well. Another great job. Ceiling cracks showed up in different areas of the house eventually and all of that was taken care of as well. These guys take care of their people. If you call for something, they respond quickly. If you need a contractor, I definitely recommend them. Five stars for sure!

After Hurricane Helene damaged my home, Mark Allan Contracting was a godsend. I had no idea where to start or what to do but they handled everything. They delivered excellent repairs with high-quality results. They were professional, communicated clearly throughout the process, tirelessly answered all my questions and ensured everything was completed to my satisfaction. Highly recommend!!

We had a large tree and some others come down during the storm. Derek was very professional and great customer service. He explained what they would be doing to remove the tree from our house. Derek and his crew showed up as scheduled. They did an awesome job. Great Crew! They clean up very well. I recommend this company, they are very professional, friendly, and thorough.

We had a great experience with our recent home painting project. The team was professional, on time, and did a fantastic job. The walls look clean and fresh, and they took care of all the little details. We’re very happy with the results and would definitely use them again!

Excellent work on the build-out of the executive office suite. The finishes were delivered precisely to specification and the team maintained a clean and safe working environment throughout the project. Adam and Justin successfully delivered the project on schedule and within budget, demonstrating strong execution and attention to detail.

Mark Allen construction was amazing to work with. Half of our house was destroyed by Hurricane Helene, and they were very responsive to all needs and worked closely with us and the insurance company to get our home back together better than ever. Justin Upchurch is absolutely wonderful and great to work with. I would highly recommend them.

Very very bad communication. Have been waiting over 4 months to have a project completed, which would be fine, I understand things take time, IF the contractor hadn't repeatedly told us things would be completed and they haven't been. It's also very hard to get responses from our contact. Would not work with again.

Unprofessional team. Met with Adam to go over scope of work for an estimate and completely disappeared afterwards. Several calls, texts and emails went unreturned. Needed this estimate to present to a church Board for approval but haven't heard anything back. A simple "will pass" response would have been professional but if this is any indication of their character and work then great riddance. Read similar comments and now it makes sense. Avoid!

This contractor came in like gang busters and went out like a lost puppy and what a bad thing to happen. Stated he was going to take care of everything and I guess he over stated what he was going to do. Made all kinds of promises as to what was going to be done to get us back to normal after the hurricane Helene came by in Martinez, Ga. Had the inside done, roof repaired and then things started to go down hill. After repairs or replacement of some items made. Our Insurance company was great with extra items missed and discovered needed repairs or replaced. We have a patio cover on the back of the house that got a hole from a tree limb hitting it. Said they would fix that but could not decide how without replacing the whole cover. Then we had a 10x12 shed that was hit by 2 pine trees but only at the side corner. Said they would take care of that as well. (Insurance paying for replacement).
This went back and forth and nothing was happening. They finished up the house and left. Calling them to find out when the patio and shed would be done was a hit and miss but mostly a miss as phone calls were not returned until after many calls and messages left. After they finally returned phone calls they stated they could not finish as it was costing them money. Justin came by and returned money for not replacing the shed and fixing the patio. So now we have to get someone else to repair what he did not want to do even though he stated he was going to take care of it all as a contractor. Bottom line we had to buy, and have installed, a new shed
at a cost where he would get a discount as a contractor but not us and a patio cover we fixed ourselves. Before he left we told him the attic entry was not cut right in the hallway ceiling. He stated he would have someone come out in a day or 2 to recut and repaint the attic cover. It’s been 3 months now and no one has shown up! So, cannot recommend this contractor to do as he states. Yes I have read other reviews.

This should've been a 5-star review because I thought this was going to be a good company to work with. But we had the same issue others have had with being ghosted. After Hurricane Helene came through, a tree fell on our home and caused damage to various spots around the home. I contacted Mark Allan Contracting to have them repair our roof, fix some interior damage, and fix some parts of our fence. Justin came out twice and climbed on the roof to collect photos for our insurance company. All seemed to be going well, but Justin insisted our entire roof needed to be replaced. Since we just had our roof replaced a few years ago, our insurance company was not on board with replacing the entire roof. So after spending weeks back and forth communicating with Justin and finalizing a cost of what the insurance would provide and what work we would have done, we suddenly heard nothing from Mark Allan. I can understand the frustration back and forth dealing with insurance, and for our insurance company's part, they didn't always offer the most stability - we were shuffled through 4 agents until we got everything finalized. But where we needed stability in an already frustrating process, Mark Allan Contracting didn't offer any. If they didn't want the work, they could've said so professionally. But ghosting altogether and leaving us back at square one to find someone else to address the repairs to our home was just unprofessional.

I had a great experience working with Adam and Nick with Mark Allan Contracting. Their team assisted us with some significant repairs to our bathroom due to mold remediation services we had take place. They put up new walls, painted and it turned out great! Would definitely recommend!
