I've procrastinated posting....my apologies to JTR because they earned the praise months ago. JTR did a significant deck re-fresh/rebuild for us in May. They were very communicative. They started the job on schedule. Completed ahead of schedule. They kept us fully up to date as the project progressed. On the working days they were here on time and left at a normal hour. They were never a "no-show" or delays. All of this goes to describe what kind of company JTR is. Then we get to workmanship. Wow! The end product exceeded our expectation. Good materials, great workmanship made for total satisfaction. Was it expensive....real world. JTR's bid was right in the neighborhood of all the contractors we spoke with. The differences are the thing customers really care about....Great people and top shelf completion. Thank you JTR.

JTR Construction did a wonderful job on our 2-level deck replacement in 2024. Josh carefully reviewed our goals, budget, and material options with us and kept us regularly updated on the schedule for the project. He was happy to add a few custom options for hanging lights/plants and a dry area on the bottom level. They carefully dismantled the old deck without any damage to the house or yard. The rebuild with new PVC decking went very smoothly without any problems or delays. And the result is a great deck that we're sure will last several decades! Thanks!

Josh (the owner) and Darren built a fantastic deck for us. They were hardworking, approachable and it quickly became obvious that they care about the quality of their work. Their attention to detail speaks for itself. For example, Josh proactively pointed out to us that one of the standard railing frames (from the manufacturer) wasn't fitting seamlessly with the other railing and that he would be replacing it to ensure the overall aesthetics of the deck were up to his standards. Josh also ensured that the joist boards were of the right caliber - maintaining a high end product from start to finish. Josh kept us up to date and communicated the status of the project as it progressed which was much appreciated. He also spent a lot of time in the beginning to help answer our questions about initiating a project of this size. He always kept the workspace tidy and in good order from start to finish. I really appreciated being able to talk to Josh during the project bid process and having that continuation into the actual build of the deck instead of the more common situation where the owner hands the project off to a separate team to do the building.

If I had a chance to work with them all over again I would do so in a heartbeat and I would highly recommend. If you hire them you absolutely will not regret it.

We decided it was finally time to replace our 30-year-old cedar deck. After receiving four bids, we decided on JTR Construction. Josh has many years of experience, and his bid was very competitive.

Josh and Darren tore out the old deck and installed Azek decking, Precision Rail railing and TimberTech DrySpace. Both Josh and Darren are talented craftsmen, paid great attention to detail, had great attitudes and worked extremely hard.

Josh and his helper did a first class job of installing a TimberTech deck in the back yard of our SW Portland home in August, 2025. Their bid was several thousand dollars lower than two competing bids. They completed the work several weeks before we expected. The joists placed 12" apart looked like they would withstand a heavy truck. They rented an outhouse for their use. They were personable and treated us like family. They cleaned up after themselves. I highly recommend them for replacing a deck.

Josh and partner at JTR Construction did an amazing job on our new deck and we are so pleased with the quality of work, dedication during the hot summer days, and perfectionism. We had a large wood deck and foundation to demo before the build, and it was a hard job. We received several other bids with all being out of line on cost. We knew Composite Decking would be expensive, but their pricing was reasonable compared to others that wanted to rip us off and overcharge us for project managers and subcontractors. I highly recommend JTR for your decking needs. They are very experienced and knowledgeable and honored all commitments. We love our beautiful new deck and know it will last a long time.
