Colmenares Lath & Plaster did the stucco work on my home in 2016. A few years later, problems began appearing — and now, nearly 8 years in, I’m dealing with over 100 visible nail pops at exterior corners and severe cracking in multiple areas of the house.

When I contacted the company, they attributed the damage to "settling." During CSLB mediation, they offered to patch the issues for $7,500, but didn’t address the root cause. Based on my research and consultation with professionals, it appears the original installation didn’t follow proper standards for corner bead fastener spacing (per ASTM C1063), which likely led to this widespread failure.

It’s extremely disappointing to be left with a major repair bill and no real accountability. I’m leaving this review not out of anger, but because the workmanship didn’t hold up — and the company has not stood behind it.

If you're considering hiring this company, I recommend asking very specific questions about installation methods, codes, and long-term support.

Remodeled our main floor stairway to our second floor with outstanding professional results. Everyone that visits our home are totally impressed. Also installed a ceiling fan in our family room. John did some work for us, on our siding and window. We had an area that was weather rotted. Thanks to John, he did a great job finding the cause and repairing the problem. He does great work, very knowledgeable, cleaned up and was very reasonable. I would recommend him and will use him for our next project.

J & N has done a lot of work for us, and I'm extremely pleased with the outcome. Every time I walk through our house and look at the finished project, I am reminded of our pleasant experience working with John. He is a highly skilled craftsman with excellent ideas and suggestions for the homeowner through his expertise and design aesthetic. ***STAY AWAY AT ALL COST***When I first spoke to contour he had given me the best quote. When it came down to the deposit and scheduling a date he started becoming less responsive until the point of no responding at all. I wouldn’t of cared but for the past 1 and a half months I was under the impression he was going to do our deck so I stopped looking for people and now other companies are already booked for the summer. Have the decency to pick up and respond to your text to at least tell the client you don’t want the job or have the time for it. In the end it was probably for the best because if he did this before he started God knows what he would have done during the process. I highly recommend finding a different contractor/deck builder.

Contour is a wonderful company to hire! Brian is professional and experienced. He is also honest and will tell you straight what will work. He will help you understand what is industry standard and what he does above and beyond for the deck to last for years to come. Hiring Contour is a good choice. I highly recommend them.

Josh and team performed great work. They showed up when they said they would and did the work they said they would. The work was first rate, despite the difficulty of the construction location. I would absolutely recommend them to others looking for decking or fencing installs.
