The Hemlock team is great. They are all professional, responsive and very supportive. Our deck was built on time, for the agreed upon price and we are very pleased with the results. I regularly work with commercial contractors and for anyone wondering what contractor they should use for their home project, I would highly recommend the team at Hemlock Contracting.
A few key things that stood out during this process include:
1 - Their responsiveness - even before we selected them, was superb. I asked a number of detailed questions and received answers within hours, even on the weekend.
2 - The project started early, and ended on time which is not always the case in today's environment
3 - They brought a team to the project. Each day there were more than one person working on our deck and they were all professionals in every sense of the word.
4 - They are all nice guys, truly nice guys.

I’m so impressed with the deck Hemlock Contracting built for my home. The wood composite material looks great and feels durable. The enclosed skirting adds a nice touch. The crew was incredibly clean, leaving no mess despite the winter conditions, which I really appreciated. Teddy is very professional, ensuring every step from design to finish was spot on. Highly recommend them for any outdoor project—they exceeded my expectations.

I had a very old, rickety staircase on the back of my house which is now a beautiful composite deck! I had three contractors come to give estimates. The first thought I couldn't afford composite and refused to quote for it (a great business strategy??) and then refused to provide a written estimate at all (another winning strategy). The third wasn't sure you *could* put a deck on a house with a fieldstone foundation.

It was a no brainer to go with Teddy & Red Dog Exteriors. I had a written estimate within a day or two. Teddy was super easy to get in touch with over email and phone, and answered all my questions right away. They started almost right away after I signed the contract, and were done in about three days. I would highly recommend them.

I just gotta shout out these guys for knocking my backyard into next level shape with this custom deck. They handle every detail of the deck design like pros. The finished deck installation is straight fire—composite decking with that crisp white railing that makes my outdoor living space feel incredible. I was stoked with how smooth the whole process was; the team delivered quality work on time and didn’t blow up my budget, giving me the perfect patio extension for grilling and chilling. The guys also helped me pick the best materials for a durable deck that’ll survive New England winters and still look fresh. Initial experience with Hemlock was good from the quote, planning and speaking with the individuals doing the work. My old raised deck and lower deck were torn down and the upper deck was replaced. The old footings were demolished and helical anchors used for the new structure.

My concerns were seen after completion. There were over 30 screws and bolts of various sizes left scattered over my yard and were not picked up. I continue to find screws months later which is disappointing and dangerous especially with kids. One of the railing sections was installed over an inch incorrectly and on a diagonal. This was fixed after I called, so appreciated the quick response but very obvious oversight during installation. Lastly the area where the stairs meet the walkway was never leveled and the stringers were just put against the ground so the lower half of the stairs are unlevel and a bit twisted.

I wish I had seen these during the 4 days of work but a bit disappointed overall given the cost of this deck replacement.

I have worked with a lot of contractors over the years on various home projects, real estate flips, etc. Teddy and the team at Hemlock contracting gave me the absolute best experience I have ever had on a project. We were looking to do a full remodel of the interior of our house. Full gut of the kitchen, living room, new hardwood floors throughout the entire floor and painting all of the rooms. We also had the dream of vaulting our relatively low ceilings to make the space feel bigger. I had 6 or so different companies come out to look and give me quotes. Teddy came out same day, was extremely thorough, and gave me a price that felt fair and was on par with most of the other quotes I got. Best of all though I could tell Teddy was genuinely excited for the project and cared about the work he was doing. He was able to start almost immediately and right away I was impressed with how fast the project was progressing. The entire team from Hemlock Contracting was amazing. They showed up early every day, worked extremely hard, and throughout every stage of the project they were extremely detail oriented and went above and beyond anything I had ever experienced before. Nate the project manager was amazing and just like Teddy I could tell he genuinely cared about the work he was doing. The remodel finished ahead of schedule and we are extremely happy with everything. If you're still reading this review, just hire Hemlock Contracting... you will not be disappointed. I've included some before and after photos for reference.

We had some serious damage from the snow. Teddy and the guys at Hemlock were very responsive. The team that came out to do the work were super professional and efficient. They replaced a large section of damaged shingles and even fixed some underlying issues we didn’t know about. Everything was done quickly, and they left our yard cleaner than they found it. If you need honest, reliable roofers, these are your people!

Nathan and his crew did a fabulous job building a second tier on my deck. They were quick and efficient and left everything in good order. Nathan and his team are very skilled and took the time to make sure everything was done properly. The deck they had put together matched exactly what we were looking for! I needed a porch rebuild on my older home. Hemlock Contracting came in and put the porch roof on stilts, demolished the porch underneath, and rebuilt a fresh new porch...all within a week and a half. Their crew was always nothing short of professional!
