My favorite shopping place for electrical supplies, excellent service, highly recommended

Friendly and helpful.

They misplace orders frequently. They will confirm that it is there, but it is not. There is a major communication problem from the office to the front desk.

Supply houses in my experience can be the hardest part of the job because of poor customer service. These guys really impressed me, super helpful over the phone, acknowledged me as soon as I can came in, and quite speedy in getting material. I called for some cuts of wire and and other miscellaneous stuff, I was down the road 5 minutes when I called and when I got there I was out the door within 10. Went back the next morning and same experience. Dee best!

Edit: A couple years later, this review makes me laugh. Something about it, maybe just thinking about how much I didn’t know at the time 😂. The problems I had then seem so insignificant now. Still a great supply house experience though 😂. Have a good day ppl, do your best, and don’t worry about the rest.

Troy has agreed to update the wiring throughout our house. We had a non-electrical home emergency come up while waiting to get the electrical work done, and he came right out to fix the problem. Went way above expectations. Thanks, Troy.

What can't they do? Being brand new Vermonters we were experiencing problems with electrical, heating, yard issues and just a TON of general questions. Troy was GREAT! He came out the same day (and the 2 following days with parts we needed). Not only fixed EVERYTHING but took the time to explain what he was doing and suggested cost effective and intelligent upgrades to a couple of areas in our home.

We really can't say enough positive things about HomeSteadVT and the work they've already provided. Next up chimney sweeping and better heating!

I cannot express the amount of gratitude and appreciation my Grandmother & I have for Troy. We had a power outage and it was determined that the break was underground somewhere and all new electrical work was needed. We had never met Troy before but got lucky and chose his name online for a second opinion. The first opinion I received was that it would be at least a week without heat or power - with an 81 year old in the home, this was devastating news. I called Troy from an online search and he immediately came out & came to the same conclusion but instead of leaving, he worked through pitch darkness and got a generator hooked up so that there was heat and power through the night. He came back bright & early the following morning and brought additional help (Mike & Marco were absolutely amazing as well!) - and they continued to work all day until after dark and even through the weekend until power was fully restored. I felt that he really cared about my Grandma and keeping everyone warm with minimal disruption. I would HIGHLY recommend him for any of your electrician needs!! Thank you, Troy & team!!!

Travis from CFW Electric showed up at the appointed time and date to discuss what we wanted done. He was pleasant, thorough and took time to answer all our questions. Candace then provided a written estimate for the work and we scheduled a date/time to have it done. Travis again showed up with all the parts and tools he needed and completed the work in a timely manner. He then cleaned up after himself, ran us thru what he did and answered all of our questions. We highly recommend CFW Electric to anyone in the northern VT area needing competent and qualified electricians.

Top Notch Company. Had a large rewire project of a commercial building and everything from pricing, staff and workmanship far exceeded my expectations. Hghly recommend for any residential or commercial project.

Love CFW! One of the only places in the area you can get to come out in a week’s time. We have loved working with Travis on numerous projects at our new house!

Our initial experience with CFW was positive, except that they were on the high side for installation of a whole house generator. Fine, we wanted the job done right and they did a fine job.

However, the generator broke down after 8 (yes EIGHT!) hours of operation. This was not CFW's fault, except for the fact that they made the mistake of selling us Generac, which as I have discovered is a truly terrible brand.

They sent out a tech and he spent two days on it and told us a story about how the controller board needed replacing and how it would be $700 plus labor time etc. Then after talking with Generac, he tried replacing the battery. Problem solved in a matter of minutes. Still received a large bill from CFW the next week. To top it all off, the generator stopped working the week after that, and CFW told me in no uncertain terms that they will not be coming out again for any reason relating to the Generac. Now I'm stuck with a $7000 lawn sculpture! This is partly on Generac for selling a truly terrible quality product, but CFW could have handled this better.

TLDR: Never EVER buy a Generac product, and don't hire CFW for service or support of Generac products. I can't speak to their non-residential work at all, I'm sure they do a fine job there.

P.S. I've been told they aren't even accepting new residential customers so there shouldn't be any new victims going forwards anyway.

Great service! He came and figured out that out problem was not coming from our wiring but from the power company lines outside. He asked for our account number and called them to let them know what the problem was, then he waited in his vehicle for them to arrive and made sure he explained what he found and that they did the work!
We will call with any future needs for sure!!

I had an emergecy and needed an electrician asap. When I called they were professional and came out immediately. The company was missing a few parts but went out of there way to have them delivered the same day from out of state. I highly recommend using this company.

THIS GROUP IS EXCEPTIONAL! I recently purchased a property in St Johnsbury and a good part of the electrical work had been updated by CFW Electric. So, I reached out to them to get more work done and this have been nothing short of exceptional. Holly in the office is always a pleasure to work with and Travis and the whole team that comes out each time ALWAYS takes the time to explain what they will be doing. They do great work at a fair price, and always leave my property is better shape then they found it. Hands down the best option in the St Johnsbury area!

The two guys who came to my home were very respectful and polite. They installed a new ceiling fan and fixed a couple of outlets and the light in my bathroom. I had to go to work while they were there and they locked up when they left. When I got home I was so shocked at how well they cleaned up after themselves. Other than having a beautiful new fan, working outlets, and a fixed bathroom light, you would never have known they were there!
