Before contacting an Excavating Contractor or related services like Demolition, Landscaping, Concrete Work, Utilities, Tree Services, and Septic Systems, consider the scope of your project. Excavating Contractors handle site preparation for construction projects; they dig foundations, trenches, and more. When choosing a provider, inquire about their equipment capabilities—some can manage large-scale industrial jobs while others specialize in residential sites.
Note that quotes may vary significantly based on factors such as the size of your lot, depth required, and whether you need additional services like soil testing or environmental permits. Compare carefully by asking for detailed breakdowns of costs, ensuring all necessary steps are included. Remember to verify their licensing and insurance coverage before making a selection.
Excavating Contractors are often called in for large-scale construction projects where soil must be moved or removed. Beyond just digging trenches and foundations, they play a crucial role in preparing land for development, removing old structures, and installing utilities. Whether it’s a home renovation project, a new building site, or even landscaping, their expertise is essential.
Excavating Contractors dig trenches, clear debris, and level the ground to ensure that sites are ready for construction or development. They remove old foundations, trees, and other obstacles, making it safe and feasible for new structures to be built. Their services include excavation and grading which involve substantial earthmoving, often requiring specialized equipment like excavators and bulldozers.
Demolition Contractors dismantle existing buildings and infrastructure using heavy machinery and manual labor. This work requires careful planning due to the potential hazards of asbestos or lead paint in older structures. Landscapers create beautiful outdoor spaces by shaping gardens, planting trees, and installing irrigation systems, all while ensuring the safety of the site.
Before hiring an Excavating Contractor, assess your needs carefully. Consider the size of the project and whether you require additional services like landscaping or demolition. Request detailed quotes that include the scope of work, equipment needed, and any permits required. A good listing will provide contact information for multiple providers in each state, allowing you to compare their rates and experience.
When contacting providers, ask about their experience with similar projects, their equipment availability, and whether they have insurance coverage. Look for a provider that has references or previous work samples if possible, as these can give you insight into the quality of their past work. Make sure to check their reputation online and read reviews from other homeowners who have used their services.

Read moreHe was extremely professional, and also came up with some creative ideas, beyond the regular scope of work we were looking for. At times I was looking for items, that he did not personally do, but he had a great recommendation, and even came up with ways to solve any road block we ran into. I would highly recommend all of his services.
Jesse is a great guy and he's the best at what he does. If you need excavation and landscaping done he's the guy to call.
Highly recommend J. Labrecque LLC! We had a really positive experience with replacement of our septic leach field this winter. The owner was honest, true to the quote and efficient in getting the job completed to specifications required by the engineer.
Jesse and his crew are my go to for all of our projects. They are hard working, do quality work and are reliable (which today is getting rarer and rarer to find these traits). Some of the many projects they have done include clearing up to 2 miles of heavily wooded trails, installing multiple drainage culverts and land grading, leveling a site for a vegetable garden and clearing some incredibly thick brush. He has all the equipment, and if he doesn’t he is more than willing to acquire the right machine or attachments to make sure the job is done efficiently. Highly recommend!
We had an incredibly positive experience working with J. Labrecque! Jesse was referred to us by our realtor when we were given the run-around with the excavation company we’d previously been working with. Not only was Jesse prompt in responding to our request, but he was also able to turn around an estimate and commit to starting work within a short time frame. This project was meant to alleviate poor drainage in our yard due to issues with our sump discharge location, and Jesse exceeded our expectations with the attention to detail, helpful advice, and quick work he and his team provided throughout the project. All along the way, Jesse made sure our future plans for the yard were taken into account. He removed trees, brush, and even a large boulder that was causing problems with the grading of our yard. He also looked for any future threats of water issues, such as gutter drain locations, and was able to get us in touch with a gutter installer on short notice. Our backyard is now completely dry, with no standing water issues even after a hard rain. He even replaced the shoddy work done by the sump installation company so that we wouldn’t encounter similar drainage problems in the future. In summary, we can’t recommend Jesse enough for all your excavation and landscaping needs. He’s professional, organized, and focused on meeting his customer’s needs. We certainly plan on giving him a call should we need any other landscaping or excavating work done in the future.
Jesse's crew relocated a purchased tractor for me. They were very professional from scheduling through delivery. 10/10 would recommend to anyone looking for some help. Nick was a true professional. Thanks for the help J Labrecque LLC!
