Before you contact any provider for window installation services, keep in mind that each company might specialize differently within the broader trade of home services. Window Installation Service providers can focus on just windows, while Siding Contractor and Roofing Contractor listings may offer additional exterior works. Don’t hesitate to ask about their specific areas of expertise. Comparing quotes between providers can be tricky since some might include extra work like insulation or gutter cleaning in their price, while others might not. It's important to clarify what is and isn't included in the quote.

Window Installation covers a wide range of jobs from routine maintenance like replacing old or damaged windows to urgent repairs such as fixing water leaks caused by improper window installation. This trade involves not only the physical replacement and repair of windows but also related services that ensure your home's integrity and energy efficiency.

Inside the Window Installation trade

The primary task for a Window Installer is to replace or install new windows, ensuring they fit correctly and meet building codes. This can involve measuring existing windows, removing old ones, installing new ones with proper weatherstripping and sealing to prevent drafts. A Siding Contractor might be called in if the window replacement also necessitates repairing or replacing exterior siding. Roofing Contractors will be involved if there's a need for structural repairs on the roof during installation. Window Suppliers provide the materials needed, while Gutter Cleaning Services ensure any gutters are clean and unobstructed to prevent water damage.

Common issues include drafts, moisture intrusion, and window breakage due to poor installation or damage from storms. Homeowners should be aware of these potential problems when considering a Window Installation service as they can lead to costly repairs down the line. Regular maintenance and proper installation are crucial for lasting results in this trade.

Comparing providers

To choose the right provider, start by checking their references and reviews from previous customers. Determine what kind of windows you need based on your home's climate and insulation needs. Ask about their experience with different types of window materials like vinyl, wood, or aluminum, as this can affect longevity and energy efficiency.

Look at the scope of work each provider offers, including warranties and guarantees. Ensure they offer a variety of services that match your project’s requirements. Compare pricing transparently; ask for itemized quotes to understand costs upfront. It's important to compare not just price but also quality and service.

Unfortunately I had the occurrence of running into their crazy driver. He just cut myself and another driver off at a yellow light just to brake check me. It seems like they just give licenses to anybody nowadays. Genuinely needs to attend driving school.

Initially, I was satisfied with the work done. Four new windows were installed on 8/4/26. Rains came and on 9/9/26 there was a large leak in one of the new downstairs window frame (video below). The leak was large and wet/stained the wall and the carpet. I contacted the company that same night. I finally got a response 13 days later on 9/22/26--by that time I had fixed the leak myself. The damage was to the weather sealant between the siding and the brick wall right where the windows were installed. During installation, they understandably had to hamnmer around that whole area to adjust and fit the new windows which in turn loosened the weather sealant. Before their install service I had never had water leaks. I was not pleased with their lack of response to the issue.

Within days of calling Star Windows for help, they were in our home. We have this large casement window that the wind caught. It had been hanging unattached at the top corner, before we finagled it back in, closed it and haven't opened it in four years . Wow! Art was amazing. He came in, opened it, assessed it for less than a minute, explained the problem, and commenced to disassemble/then reassemble. He repaired one piece, and had it operating in less than 10 minutes. It glides more smoothly than it ever has and works perfect now. He then adjusted the companion casement window as one of the connector rods kept falling out of it when opened. It opens fully now and the rod keeps in place. I could tell he knew windows like the back of his hand. Watching him, how quick, thorough and professional he was, was something to behold. I was thinking about replacing the windows before Art arrived. He indicated that was not necessary, and the windows we have are no longer made in that size (due to the wind damage potential like we experienced). Thus, a two-pane window would have been the replacement option. I was thoroughly impressed with Art and Star Window Solutions and would highly recommend.

They wanted $58 for 30"x24" piece of single strength window glass. With a turnaround time of a week! Why even say that you provide the service if you price it so high that you know people won't buy it? They obviously don't want to bother with small orders. Went down the street to Strasser's Hardware and was able to get double-strength the same-day for $24. ***10/01/26 Update*** Everything in the business's response to my review is patently untrue and merely an attempt to save face. I was absolutely told that price, I was absolutely told it would be a week turn-around time, and NO ONE at Westport glass directed me to go to Strasser's Hardware. It was "this is our price, this is the turn-around time and take-it or leave-it". I left it. I suggest anyone else looking for glass do likewise.

The team did an outstanding job installing our new French doors. The workmanship is excellent, and the whole crew, Troy, Sean, Logan, and Colby, was incredibly friendly from start to finish. They showed up on time, worked efficiently, and made the entire process smooth and stress‑free. We're thrilled with the final result and truly appreciate their professionalism and kindness.

Wow what can I say about Madtown Glass? Absolutely Amazing they came out to our house measured our broken double pane window and Josh immediately noticed the glass had a bronze tint which I missed. After he ordered a replacement he came and changed out the broken glass with ease like a professional. I couldn't be more impressed. Found out he also does auto glass as well . I will definitely keep him in mind for any glass needs we have and his price was very reasonable.
