What Coconut Creek customers say about local pros

I too hired Frank's company to restore my terrazzo floors, I only wished I read the review on merchant circle before hiring his company. He said he has been doing this for over 20 years and I should of been suspicious when he couldn't leave an estimate on our meeting and said I would only be 2 to 3 dollars per hole and that want be to much. He asked me if I had other estimates and since he won me over with his slick personality I told him the names of the other companies. Which he convincible convince me that hiring his company would be the right decision by bad mouthing these companies. When I got the email with the estimate, it was the lowest bid by a few hundred dollars. But it all went down hill the morning the crew showed up at the house. The men where nice but after they counted the holes they said the price would be an additional thousand plus dollars! Holly cow, talk about bait and switch. My gut feeling was confirmed that I should of been suspicious when he couldn't give me a confirmed price at our meeting. I was left in a bind and had to pay the ransume because I had other contractors lined up for other rehab jobs. I am so mad mostly that I was coned into hiring his company. I would not suggest anyone hiring concepts in cleaning.

Frank is a very dishonest. After agreeing on the price he came back and said I have 146 holes to fix at $2.00 a piece. He promised me that it will look like new when he fished it. He said will start work on Saturday. Showed up only Monday noon with many stories. After it I had 2 people in my house for 4 days and Frank never showed up. The results looks like Sh@#$ The holes that he fixed did not matched the floor. Stains all over the floors. Frank said that he said from the beginning that it will not look perfect. What a liar. Now I have to sped over $4,000 to cover it with tiles. Save your self Money and aggravation and find someone else.

Frank will sweet talk you during the quote but you’ll never see him again. He will lie to you about when the work will start and how long it will take, with no consideration how this lack of transparency affects the homeowner. His guys are nice but they treat your home like a construction site. They didn’t appropriately cover things with plastic so all my clothes in my closet are covered in dust, along with the rest of my house. I have to come out of pocket for multiple professional cleanings. They damaged my walls and doors. Again I have to come out of pocket to have those things fixed. They didn’t cover the smoke detectors and when the dust made them go off, they just ignored the ringing and let them ring for hours, including in the middle of the night. Frank will tell you how great the holes will be matched. You can see for yourself in these pictures. It was all around a terrible experience. Check both his profiles before hiring. Concepts in cleaning and terrazzo care restoration.

I found Frank at Concepts in Cleaning to be honest and straightforward about doing a whole house terrazzo restoration job for my home. It was built in Miami in 1955 and at some point after that, most of the floor had been covered by a combination of linoleum sheets and linoleum tiles. There is no way to know ahead of time how well decades-old stains can be removed, but Frank assured me that his crew would try their best. He described the process of stain removal and I felt comfortable risking the added cost and time commitment required. The work of grinding, polishing and buffing the floors took an entire week to complete, but I am extremely impressed by the results. I could not imagine that the floors would become so smooth and shiny! I haven’t reviewed many companies online, but I am thankful for a job well done. Bringing the life back to a terrazzo floor is not cheap, but if it’s done correctly it should last an extremely long time. Also, do not underestimate the amount of dust the grinding process creates. Dust will be *everywhere* and will require some time for you to clean up. Frank was even on a recent episode of This Old House and that’s pretty cool!

This is the second time I've used this company for my terrazzo restoration on my 1950's home, and I absolutely stand behind the great work they do. Frank is responsive and communicates very well. His team is friendly and happy to talk to you about the process, issues and expectations. It's true what the other posters say, it's a dusty, messy process --- but if you plan well and plastic off areas of the home that aren't being worked on it's not catastrophic. We let them know that dust was a concern (since we already lived in the home) and the crew did a great job cleaning as they went and vacuuming up where they could. With older homes you're never going to get everything 100% perfect, so having realistic expectations is key. Other posters talk about the issue with hole filling - it's something that is going to happen, especially if you have had multiple coverings on your floors previously. It's part of the process to budget for, but they will absolutely work with you to find a happy medium between what you want to spend and what you need to do to achieve the best looking results. We did not have our floors peroxided, but did opt to have them use a more heavy duty machine to remove the ghost lines from the previous grout. All in, the cost to restore my whole home (around 850sq ft) was comparable to what I would have paid to remove and re-tile it. If you have terrazzo, they can save it. Well worth the time and effort.

Frank and his crew, Xavier and Rodrigo, did a beautiful job of restoring my terrazzo tile floor to its original luster. Frank is detailed and knowledgeable in his craft of repairing and matching the matrix and aggregate of the floor. Wonderful job and positive experience. Highly recommend for your terrazzo restoration.
