We highly recommend McCullough Tree Service.

We chose McCullough Tree Service, after meeting with the estimator, Brandon and reading so many good online reviews.  We had several large trees on our property, all very old with varied tree problems.   Brandon discussed caring for trees and left us with a wealth of knowledge.  He made suggestions on where to trim and shape the trees.  Whereas, others had to be removed.  He was also onsite the day of the work making sure we were happy and we were.

McCullough Tree Service are certified and insured so when 2 large trees had to be removed between ours and the neighbors house it gave us a piece of mind to know that these guys knew what to do.  Once they got started it was obvious we had made the right decision.

Their crews are impressive.  They arrived and started on time for the day scheduled. It was obvious these guys were well trained and knew exactly what and when to do it.  All the crews were all very pleasant and helpful.  The yard was cleaned as they went, the whole process was methodical.  The stumps were ground in the yard where grass would be placed and they did an exceptional job of grinding and clearing the debris.  The office personnel are pleasant and also did an excellent job communicating and were very helpful with answering our questions.  We always got a quick call back.

Overall a great experience.

Highly recommend McCullough Tree Service. Friendly and most professional team of people I have ever met. Fair priced and excellent work done at my home. I enjoyed watching the process of tree removal and tree trimming so much, I threatened to retire and follow them around. Great bunch of human beings at McCullough Tree Services. I have used a few different so called tree companies at my home but without a doubt, my search is over! McCullough Tree Service was the best tree company I have ever experienced. All of my needs were addressed and addressed in a enthusiastic manner. You never heard the word no and the end results far exceeded my expectations. And did I mentioned their pricing was way better then most of the estimates I had been receiving from others. We wanted to have some tree limbs cleared over our roof to mitigate hurricane risk. Blair was very knowledgeable assessing our needs. The crew communicated with us every step of the way and did a great job.

We have a large number of trees in our property, and several different types of tree problems among them. We chose McCullough Tree Service, after meeting with five other tree service companies, because Shelby, the owner, is ISA certified and was able to tell us what the science is behind tree care and how that applied to our varied and specific situations, which included over hanging the roof, over hanging neighbors' garage, intertwined trees, branches leaning on one another, as well as the usual low hanging branches and dead growth. We had two trees we thought would have to come down, and Shelby assured us they could be preserved without problem.
The crew arrived and started on time. It was apparent these guys have been well trained, knew exactly what their specific job was and they worked like a well functioning team. They had a clear method of how the carry out the job, not hit and miss, one guy in one place and another guy some where else. And, they were all pleasant and helpful.
Our yard was kept clean; as wood was cut, it was cleaned up immediately and disposed of. When they were finished cutting, there was no clean up left. Great care was taken for our grass, the bird feeder, planters, flag, etc. One stepping stone was broken, and they bought new and replaced it immediately. They did not throw down logs, branches, etc, but lowered them to the ground with a rope, preserving the integrity of our lawn.
It is interesting to us how our yard now has a more cohesive, better look over all than before today's tree service. We highly recommend McCullough Tree Service.

They cut three over our oaks (over 40ft) and did an amazing job. They cleaned up after themselves, you wouldn’t have even known the trees were trimmed! They even moved our trash can further into the road on trash day so that our house didn’t get skipped because their trucks were in the way! They did an amazing job and had a great price.

McCullough Tree Service provided me with such a great crew. They even worked in light rain. I met with the crew lead who was kind & explained what they did. Only thing I had to do was remind them to cut an area that was on the estimate. Other than that the work was done in a timely manner and they cleaned up my yard before leaving. I don't typically do reviews but, the service I received from McCullough tree service wasn't typical so I feel it is warranted. They were one of the most professional and respectable tree service companies I have ever dealt with. The team was on time, thorough and ensured my wife and I were satisfied. Shelby McCullough was extremely knowledgeable and took the time to make recommendations and explain the work that was done. The trimming and removal made a huge difference. I highly recommend them for all your tree service needs! Keep up the good work!

All the McCullough employees were professional and possess a good work ethic. They are committed to serving their customers to the best of their abilities. They responded quickly and offered fair pricing. I have never had a tree service clean up the area as well as these employees. I will not hesitate to reach out to them in the future.Highly recommend.

If I could give a 10 star I would. The entire process could not have gone better. It all started with a bad taste in my mouth when I originally was going with another company. I looked up McCullough Tree Service and read their reviews like you are now and I am so thankful I went with my gut. I called McCullough and explained my situation about previous company and they were very understanding and sent out a representative and gave me a 1 hour widow. They honored the appointment window and were respectful of my time. The price was very fair and they were up front with the time frame for the job. My wife and I decided to move forward and then they day of the job came. WOW, Mark and his crew are amazing to watch. They are professional and very personable. I actually was outside watching and it is an art. These guys are truly respectful of your property too. Everyone I spoke to seemed very happy and was respectful to me. The limbs started coming down 1 by 1 and when the tree was gone it was time to clean up. Once clean up is completed Mark will come up to you before they leave and ask you if you are happy and if there any concerns. Thank you ALL again I will be happy to spread the word about McCullough Tree Services.

I had McCullough come out to my property and do some limb removal on three large Oaks and I couldn’t be happier with their work! From the very affordable quote, to communication for when the work would be done, it was a great experience. They had a crew come out and the work was taken care in a little under two hours and it was done right. Very happy to have found a reliable and affordable tree service to use going forward.

McCullough pitches themselves as a more elite, experienced, and knowledgeable service, and they’re priced accordingly. Unfortunately they fail to deliver on that commitment. Update at bottom.

McCollough’s estimate includes written instructions along with marked up photos to ensure expectations are aligned (I assumed). I WFH and manage all of the work on the house; I am always around, available, and involved. Day of, I went over the PDF with both the workers on site and the project manager upon arrival. These conversations are captured on our security cameras.

Issues: 1. they removed a large branch without prior approval. It WAS the most beautiful part of our view in our backyard. I explicitly said that if anything needed to be done to that specific tree, it would need to be discussed with me first. They unnecessarily hacked it up without notifying me. It wasn’t on the agreed upon estimate and posed no threat to humans or structures (it hangs over dense vegetation on the property). 2. We needed one tree removed, and on the estimate, we showed that we wanted a good portion of the trunk left. I discussed this with the workers and PM. They cut it to the ground and we ran out halfway through to try to salvage it. He was able to save slightly more (until the partial cut he made through the base compromises it) 3. I also requested a large piece of that tree be left, so I could make a stool of the tree who we were saddened to lose. Multiple men on site confirmed this would be done but it wasn’t. We called and they returned five days later, leaving a chunk of a random stranger’s tree (that’s much much thinner) instead. I fear you missed the entire point. 4. They left several larger (although not huge) branches on the roof.

We assumed the organization and price would lead to a more seamless process, but it was much worse than the company we used in the past (who were fine).

Our view will never be the same and I will never get over the theft of our gorgeous twisted branch. We hated having to get any work done at all, and explained our desire to keep all work to a minimum. Our trees mean a lot to us. To treat them in this manner is devastating and disrespectful. There is no way to fix it.

UPDATE: they gave us a small refund to symbolize understanding of how they missed on this job. Note that this was NOT when we called them to discuss the issues; it was days later, and immediately after I posted a review to help other tree lovers. The full job could’ve been refunded and I still would’ve preferred to pay another company to do the work correctly.

I am a returning customer using McCullough Tree Service. I was impressed with their professionalism and quality of work the first time around along with the reasonable price. The second time using them did not disappoint. Brandon was very communicative and responsive to any questions I had and the office staff did a great job working with my schedule to get service scheduled. I was very impressed with the efficiency at which the crew worked and they cleaned up so well after the job. I would use McCullough again.

Update 2024: I used McCullough again and was once again very happy with the service and price. Chris came out to do the stump grinding and I found him to be very professional and it seemed he took great care and pride in his work.

McCullough Tree Service just completed a job cutting and shaping my bamboo and cleaning out fishtail palms in my backyard. They did a wonderful job. 10/10. I have had awful experiences in the past with arborists not doing the job right and having to demand the job be done correctly. McCullough Tree Service team was professional and deserves my highest rating. I will use them again.

McCullough did a fantastic job making strategic cuts throughout the yard. The communication and professionalism was outstanding. The fellas even cleaned up extra branches I had laying around the yard. They are my tree people from here on out.

Top to bottom, back to front, McCullough Tree Service is first class. The crews took care of trimming a huge oak and took down an 80-foot Norfolk Island Pine in our back yard. The whole operation only took a 2.5 hours or so and they guys hauled everything away. Another one of the crews ground down the stump this morning and also did a great job. If you need an arborist for any reason, look no further than McCullough. They are also a great value for the money. We couldn't be any more impressed with them. Thanks guys!

Butchered trees that probably did not need to be cut and tore up the lawns throughout.

They were racing around until 8 o clock at night trying to pickup the piles of waste and the Bobcat driver was all over the place shredding the lawns which we are working so hard on trying to get them back green and nice.

I scheduled 4 companies to come out and give me an estimate to trim my large oak trees in my backyard. Every person that came out was nice enough but from the first call to McCullough and speaking with Grady the arborist it was a done deal for me. My trees are extremely important to me and the way they look. When the team arrived, great group of guys, Anthony who was doing the trimming communicated with me every step of the way. He made sure I was happy and okay with how he decided to trim them back, outside of the diagram he was given. He also did me a great favor and cleaned out my gutter over my screen enclosure while he was on the roof ,which was completely filled with debris from the trees. I couldn't be more pleased with the end results and the care that was taken throughout the entire process. Let me not forget to mention that they came in well below the cost than the other 3 companies! Icing on the cake:)

McCullough crew showed up right. at 8am when scheduled, removed and stump-ground the declining nonnative Chinese elm that I planted in 1985, placed a new winged elm, cleaned deadwood and suckers from the city-planted live oak and Shumard oak between sidewalk and street, and trimmed their over-long and too-low branches, and tidied up the yellow poinciana as well. They were done by 1:30p, including blowing, raking, and wood chipping, and restoring the parts of the trellis they’d had to move aside to get the stump grinder in. I’ll use McCullough again any time.

My neighbors had several trees on our property line that were very overgrown and in need of trimming. Every hurricane season, I was worried that one would fall and damage my home. I told McCullough what I wanted done, and they did EXACTLY that. Many thanks to the crew for getting it done, Blair for his knowledge and quick quote, and Angela's quick and pleasant service to make it all happen!
