Economy pool… wow what can I say about their service. Well first off, they don’t show up on they day you’re scheduled & when they do it’s at 6 pm when the pool is turning off. Secondly the technician dumped 7 chlorine tablets in my skimmer. When I asked him why he was doing that instead of dumping liquid chlorine he said that’s how he was trained. Listen economy, everyone knows you don’t put anything in a skimmer: especially chlorine tablets; that will erode your PVC pipes radically. I had them service/clean my pool for 4 weeks. Each week my pool was left the same, dirty, no chemicals, and worse off than when I was cleaning it myself. The manager Todd doesn’t answer his phone. Basically what I gathered is economy either doesn’t know what they are doing or they have young techs who are making $12 an hour and just trying to get through there route as fast as possible. Do not use this economy unless you wanna play babysitter.

Worst pool company by far. Say they come out for service by my pool is always dark green. They blame the water levels so I put more water in the pool but yet it stays green. When I call in they either do not answer or return calls. I pay $114 a month and my pool it clean and blue for a total of one week. Very poor service! The picture below is my pool cleaned 4 days ago!

Honestly this business is the worse. They never come through and I've had nothing but problems with them since I signed a contract with them. I have paid the $58 monthly fee diligently for over a year now and I expect they honor their end of the contract. My pool is greenish brown! The reason is, Im told, they installed cheap salt cells and didn't order enough salt so my salt levels are low to none now. The only reason I found out is because I called to have my pool serviced and told them the situation with my pool. They wouldn't have told me anything but they do keep collecting my money. I was promised by one of the mangers that he would come out Monday, he never showed or called. I called and they said it got moved to Tuesday, he never showed. I kept calling all week and guess what, it's Friday and he's still not here and my pool is an absolute mess!

Do not use this company. We used them for 5 months. We had the same tech every service, i spoke to him asking him how the salt level was and he responded with that he didn't know we had a salt water pool. He was here 5 months and had no idea. Our pool ended up cloudy, called company, another tech came out. He said he could not look at our salt cell. So he left us with a cloudy pool. A few days later a different tech came out to do our bi weekly service and said nothing about our pool looking cloudy and algae in pool. We took our own water sample in, no chlorine in our pool. They had us bring in our salt cell to get tested, they could not test it because of how dirty it was. We cleaned it got it tested and it was not working. Three techs had been here and not one could tell us what was going on. They will say they clean your filter and indspect equipment but they do not. They come run a net through your pool and put chlorine tablets in your skimmer!! We ended up canceling services, manager was supposed to call me, never did. We were left left with a non working salt cell, algae in pool and very cloudy water. Scaling on pool tiles an on pool deck from water not be balanced that we are still working on. We replaced our salt cell and balanced our water ourselves. We knew nothing about pools at all, recently moved here from wisconsin. We hired a new pool company who cleaned our filter and does an amazing job. Watch out, if something goes wrong they say nothing and let it go. Check around for good pool companies who do their job and who care. Believe the reviews. Stay away from this company.

This company is the biggest joke. They no showed, didn’t clean the pool. They even lied about the things they did to the pool even though we have a camera and the only thing the tech did was text in his entire two minutes before departure. We obviously cancelled. Do they put things back they found them? Absolutely not. They put their salt cell on, and refuse to put the old one back on due to “liability” reasons since they can’t touch the equipment since they no longer service us. Only to pick up the salt cell 4-5 months after service ended. Liability is a poor excuse for not wanting to admit they were wrong. Opened BBB complaints due to the nasty green pool we had for several days mid summer last year. Customer services was awful when attempting to get the equipment back to the pre economy pool headache. They’ve “offered” to come put it back on for $95 so they can be on our property without liability. Although they have entered the property without our knowledge and several months after the services ended. Save yourself. Go to a business with integrity, and provide reputable services.

I just fired Economy Pools. My pool is a very small fiberglas pool in a screened enclosure. This company changes the price every other month without any reason. When I call to discuss the price differences they don't return my calls. Finally, when they sent a bill wanting another $22 for doing nothing extra, I sent it back telling them they need to call me if they want paid. Finally, after two weeks they called me back. The office manager got on the phone with me. Her first response was to tell me the computer algorithm decides to randomly charge higher some months, even though nothing extra was done. She said she doesn't know why that happens. I said I hired them and expect a set monthly price like it had always been. She became very rude and when I questioned her she called me a vulgar name. Stay far away from this company!!!

It started out very well but declined quickly as the tenet started to comment on the state of the pool after 4 months. My father canceled their service. Then they didn't charge my fathers account for two months after the cancellation so we assume it is finished. Suddenly they decided to charge my fathers credit card for another year before I looked at his finances and found they were still charging him. I had another pool company looking after the pool(Aqua life Pool Services)for the last 5 months and a property management company(Bay Area Property Management Co.) taking care of the property and new pool service.

I've never written a review before and thought those that did had issues. Well here I am and I must say I am very disappointed in Economy Pools level of service. They haven't cleaned our pool for over a month. Didn't let me know until I contacted them to ask, "Why?" They told me our pool would be cleaned the following week. The week came upon us, nothing and our pool is filthy. I tried calling but they had me on hold for over 45 minutes and no one ever came to the phone so I left a message.

I would give them 0 stars if I could. We have had nothing but problems since we hired them. Out of the first month of service they have come out once and stated they vacuumed the pool which was clearly a lie. Our pool ended up turning green then they wanted to charge us $250 to do a green clean which was caused by their lack of service. We have called multiple times with no response. We finally got someone on the phone to cancel service but yet again they charged us for an additional month of service of which they have not been out once. I would highly recommend no one hires this company you will be very disappointed, end up with a green pool and be charged for it. I have never encountered such horrible service in my life.

Honestly a waste of money. Did not do anything the 6 months we had them. Came with a net and acted like they were cleaning the pool. Never looked any better, never used a vacuum, never scrubbed anything. Never looked at or cleaned the filter. The pool looked worse when they left. I had to clean the filter last week after they never cleaned it, was disgusting. (It was a brand new filter WE put in right when we hired them) Hired a new pool company and we’re told the chemicals were way off, (because economy pools was “servicing” it for the last 6 months) do not waste your money. You’ll regret it. The only saving grace left is John. If you somehow get the disservice of having them “service” your pool, ask for him at least. He needs to take over the company, would do a much better job.

Want to add, one of their “workers” banged on our sliders at 730 am. The whole house was sleeping. Just a joke of a company

BEWARE: We were very hopeful with this company when we decided to switch our pool service. Mark, their repairs lead, promised that a new pump would fix our issues we were having and also that they would take a look at our pool vacuum and get us up and running. We signed up for service and purchased a new pump. The technician didn’t bother to look at the pool vacuum nor did the new pump fix the issues we were having beforehand. They stated that it must be a leak underground and to call leak detection. We hired another company (at a cost of $150) to come out and do a leak detection only to find out that they had plumbed our new pump into a broken pipe. How a technician would not have been able to tell the pipe was not damaged is beyond me. When I contacted them they sent a tech out and he said Mark would be in contact. Mark is impossible to work with after they take your money. He was very rude and would not let me speak and explain things. He denies everything. They only repair above ground. Well this was above ground. Then they said or well the pipe goes underground. Yes like less than a foot but it does go down a little underground. You can never get any help with anyone in the office with any of the issues. The service side only ok. They didn’t tell us that we needed to sign a waiver to move our pool cover during the winter months so they just didn’t clean it. We never knew when they came or after requesting a report we never got added. When ended up having another company ($235 cost) come and fix the pool pipe so we could actually run our pump after two weeks of going back and forth with them and they refused to help us. When I contacted them to cancel a lady (who was actually really nice) talked to me about all the issues I was having with their company and said they would comp a month and she would look into these issues for me and to not cancel. The next day I get a call and they said they were canceling our service. REALLY. They let us go as a client stating they could not fix that issue. They came and took the salt device off our pool system the same day. I had paid for our service for the whole year and they stated they would be sending me a check. I wish they would have been as responsive to our needs as they were of removing their salt device. I have NEVER worked with a worst company than this one.

The service from this company is appalling. Any issue they have with the pool they are unresponsive. Took them 3 Weeks to get a tech to my pool to advise the issue. The tech who does the weekly cleaning are not up to date with pool technology. Remove leaves etc yes, but when the pool went green they simply did the normal role and did not respond to the issue. After cancelling the service they are now charging me for a service fee.
Watch this company!!! The reviews are accurate. Second rate at best. Unresponsive and unprofessional.

They will NEVER show up when they say they will. Call center is unresponsive and will not proactively advise if your assigned service date has changed. Techs are unresponsive. Price is reasonable. Service is horrendous.

When they took over Gulf to Bay the quality of service practically disappeared. They are inconsistent with their day and times of when they come out, if they even come out at all. We’ve had to call several times to ask to have a service guy come out to clean the pool to begin with. This last time we called on Thursday and the service rep claimed he was on his way. Well Thursday came and went so did Friday and our pool still looked liked an insect graveyard because it hadn’t been cleaned. When we called and advised them of this, the rep said he was just there (he wasn’t because I was home most of both of those days) but we’ll have him come back out again on Monday! Again?? He never came in the first place! And to top off that lie, I called them three times to discuss this and left three voicemails and never received a call back. Do yourself a favor and find a company that will actually provide you with the service you pay for without all the lying and frustration you get with Economy Pools.

We had them install new pool equipment in April 2025 — two pumps, a filter, and a chlorinator. From day one, the main pump couldn’t run above 2,200 RPM without faulting. I asked multiple times for a repair or replacement, but after a month of stalling, they told me to contact the manufacturer myself and file a warranty claim. If a company won’t stand behind the products they install, it’s hard to see any value in buying from them.

Wow, pool is still emerald green. They were nice enough to credit me back for the service they didn't show up for. Now it is seven days past when they are going to come and fix it. Nicole is a sweat heart but the field team is garbage. I've been told repeatedly that someone will be out but nobody ever shows.

The quality and consistency of pool cleanings was not there. We were charged for a $50 filter cleaning on a day when it was lightning and thundering. I work from home and always see when they show, or not, and what work they actually do vs what I’m being charged for. At this point, it’s not even worth my time fighting for the $50 refund because they’ll come up with some bogus excuse.

Do not use this company. It's not worth the headaches, repeated missed cleanings, and low quality care. Extremely underwhelming pool service. Our pool is disgusting because we've waited over three weeks for them to come out. Every time they're supposed to come, no one shows, and it's just excuses from the office or area manager. We literally have a biohazard in our back yard right now. Beware, and use any other company but this one. We have given them so many chances, and we're done. The picture is our pool taken this morning...so gross.

Great work guys!!! This plumbing job looks excellent! Thanks for coming on my property without my permission to repossess your salt generator and do a horrible hack job of replumbing and frying my pool pump that worked perfectly fine before! I hope all future customers read all these reviews before considering giving any money to economy pools.

Editing a prior (positive) review. This company should be avoided. The new guys who replaced Cory for weekly service would show up, skim the top, and leave. I work from home so I watched him do it. I called the office, and nothing changed. After the second time, I terminated my contract.

When my new company opened the filter for the first time, the attached pic is what they saw - this filter hadn't been opened or cleaned in quite some time.

I wasn't going to change my prior review, but when this company's incompetence jeopardizes the equipment that they themselves sold me and installed, that's beyond unacceptable.

There are plenty of pool companies down here. Do yourself a favor and find a different one.

I am beyond unhappy with your service. First the tech doesn't show for a whole week, and that was only his second week, then he shows up and stays about 10 minutes and left the pool as dirty as he found it. I took pictures right after he left and my camera took pictures of when he got here and when he left. He didn't do any of the things he said he did on the card since my camera showed exactly what he had with him and what he did. Here are pictures  of how he left my pool. I have  a lot more pictures

I called my bank and blocked any payment and requested a refund.
