This company does not take accountability for property damage that is done by their vendors. The negligence and carelessness and lack of willingness to own up and fix what has been damaged is appalling. Not only did one of their vendors cut only half of my grass in the back, but broke a sprinkler head and now will not, fix it due to me. Emailing them a picture in the timeframe that they wanted. My mother almost died while this incompetent vendor came to our house to do a job that should have helped us not be as stressed in such a trial time but all they did was add more stress to a family that is trying to live through medical changes that alter all of our lives. I will be telling everyone I know to avoid this company and better believe that they will not be recommended to anyone that I come across. This company is practicing now intention practices, and they obviously do not care about their customers and would rather cover up for the vendors that they use, have no regard for property or proficiency in their job. Again this company is unwilling to be held accountable for damage to a sprinkler head that was done by their vendor. The sprinkler was broken on the very next day. I contacted them about the damage and sent a picture of the sprinkler head. But because I fail to submit a second picture while my mother is fighting for her life and a hospital bed is so disheartening. Is disheartening that we have less and less compassion for people who are just trying to get through each day.

My lawn pro David, always comes a day early. Which means it’s always cut for my weekend activities Outside. I feel David goes above and beyond. He edges my fence area, my front yard area, my patio area, and if the grass is higher than usual, he’ll rake it up and put it in a black bag. I feel that’s above and beyond. I do tip him a 20% gratuity after Service. I would highly recommend Lawn starter. And David. Thank you the Kilbrides

The lawnstarter experience has been great. It's a very easy to use app, and the lawn care team I got matched to is fantastic. I've got various health issues that make it impossible for me to keep up with the lawn, and my crew always has it looking great.

We’ve been using lawn starter for a couple of years now, and Jorge is by far the best person we’ve worked with. He has great attention to detail, great communication, if he can’t make a date because of weather or any other issues he communicates with us. He’s a super nice guy and does just a fantastic job. I definitely would recommend!

DO NOT USE! This is a scam! They lock you into a 3-cut minimum that you are not made aware of until you try to cancel. They will not allow you to cancel even if you are dissatisfied with the service provided. They say this 3-cut minimum is in the terms and conditions however it doesn’t show up until after you sign up with them. Then they argue you down about how it was there you just didn’t read it. PLEASE choose a different company for your lawn care. This has been a horrible experience!

Do not use. 277 complaints with the Better Business Bureau and an F rating.
Terrible experience. I used them to book a service to come mow the lawn the last day of my lease so I could be 100% confident I would keep my security deposit. The day of at 4pm they canceled and rescheduled to a few days later.
I would no longer have the property at a later date so I tried to cancel the service all together. The app would have a pop up roughly saying “Give us 3 chances to mow your lawn before you cancel.” I no longer would have a property for them to mow and they still wouldn’t let me cancel.
Their customer service is purposely convoluted to prevent people from getting in contact with real agents. Calling only allows you to speak to a bot, they have no email readily accessible on their website, and through the app there is an AI chat room where if you talk to it enough a person will finally respond.
I informed them I no longer had a property for them to mow, and that they should not come to the previous property as that would be trespassing. I also informed them they no longer had my consent to any future services or to charge my card.
The customer support agent, Vanessa H., pretty much said that I agreed to a 3 cut minimum and that they would still be mowing that lawn and charging my card. A 3 cut minimum snuck into a customer service agreement is not legal, and unique or unexpected clauses need to be more apparent for customers to know to expect it. A few messages later their “manager” made one exception saying I could cancel if I utilized their services on another property. I told them I am not interested in any services, and they proceed to send people to the property while we were talking to mow the lawn. I was then charged for the service while I was telling them I wished to cancel immediately. I have no way of verifying if the service was actually performed, since I no longer have access to the property.
These charges have been disputed, complaints will be filed accordingly, and these unfair business practices need to stop. I definitely would have utilized this service for future properties if not for how they tried to nickel and dime every interaction. Between tips, unexpected long grass fees, surprise visits, and purposely obscured clauses in agreements this company is not there to provide a service but to make quick cash grabs. -
My lawn is mowed, weeds down, and debris blown off my porch. Leandro comes like clockwork unless the weather is bad, and sometimes when it is about to be bad! He does a great job, and even though there is a 'window' of days for him to be here, he usually arrives the first day. I'm not sure what others charge for this service, but I'm happy.

I’m very happy with the Pro that I have been assigned from LawnStarter. Juan does a fantastic job every time he comes by. If you have lawn work that needs to get done and you are lazy like me then give LawnStarter a try, you won’t be disappointed!

Lawn starter is a great service and it helped me to find what I needed at a reasonable price. Sometimes it’s hard to know who to trust and lawn starter took all the guesswork out of my search and helped me to find a great lawn service provider at a good price. Thanks to LS for their help!

Lawn Starter were spectacular in taking care of my lawn needs. Thet were very professional. The app was really easy to use. I moved and had to cancel my service. 👌💯💥💫

I couldn’t be happier with LawnStarter and especially my pro, James from JMG Lawn Care. He’s always on time, professional, and takes real pride in his work. My yard has never looked better—he pays attention to the small details, making sure everything is cleaned up before he leaves. James goes above and beyond every visit, and it’s clear he truly cares about the quality of his work. If you’re looking for someone reliable who knows what they’re doing, I highly recommend LawnStarter—and definitely James!

I am very happy with this service!
Josh did a spectacular job on making a horribly overgrown yard look presentable. It was very easy to communicate with Josh and he finished the job as I requested I will ask for him in the future . I definitly recommend this service. Thank you Josh! -
The last time Lawnstarter showed up for my biweekly service I believe was well over a month ago. It had rained a day or two before but still they ran a heavy riding mower over my lawn digging deep ruts into the lawn, which they promised to fill in but then they never came back. In the past when the ground, but not the grass, was wet they used push mowers. They didn’t even finish mowing my backyard and now they want me to pay a premium for “Long Grass” which is only long because they never cut it when the promised to! Now my HOA is threatening to fine me. They also gave me one price on their advertising then charged me more, which I did not complain about since at first they did a good job and showed up reasonably on time. I hired Lawnstarter because the price they quoted was low and as a senior in very poor health living primarily on Social Security I needed the lowest possible cost, but reality was not equal to their advertising. They kept texting and promising to mow numerous times via their App but simply never showed up again. Now my lawn, which is fairly small, is way overgrown and an embarrassment so I guess I’ll have to hire a professional service.

LawnStarters Carlin does a fantastic job on my yard every time. He is thorough, professional and my grass looks great after each mow. I love to get a text that says when he’ll be by next to cut the lawn. I look forward to coming home to fresh cut grass and my yard looking terrific!
-
The company does a decent job mowing the lawn, but every other task comes with an extra charge — even raking or trimming the bushes. I only pay for mowing, but it would be nice if basic landscaping services were included as part of the standard service. The lawn service was completed a day later than scheduled

I wish I could give them zero stars. All they want is your money. Hired them to do a service, was quoted the $19 first cut price. Long story short, they charged me $90 and left me with a mess of patchy grass. The “pro” said 100% of my grass was over 9 inches which is literally impossible because half of my yard is dead grass. It doesn’t grow at all in more than half the yard. There were some patches that had long grass, but definitely not over 9 inches or more than 50% of the yard so I was not expecting to be charged 100% of the original fee. Their Long grass policy states that you’ll be notified beforehand to approve the pro to cut your grass and charge you the long grass fee - if them deem 50% of your yard to be long, you’ll be charged 50% of the ORIGINAL normal fee and if they deem 100% of your yard to be long, you’ll be charged 100% of the ORIGINAL fee, not the discounted price they quoted you. My $19 cut went from $19 to $90. Absolutely INSANE. And not only was I not notified of the long grass fee as they clearly state in their policy you’ll be notified beforehand, they lied about it being 100% of my lawn. And then they blew the clippings onto my neighbors’ cars and driveway and left patches of grass all in my yard. It looked so choppy and horrible and my house is in the front of my community and I have an HOA to report to. My neighbor was pissed off about the clippings being on his cars and driveway (which was completely valid) and my yard look like a hot mess. I was clearly unhappy with my services and I requested to cancel my account and they said they cannot cancel my account until I reach the 3 cut minimum. I told them about the service and they just kept telling me I can cancel once I’ve had a pro come out and cut my grass 3 times. I don’t want any of their pros coming onto my property and I made that very clear and they still would not cancel my account. So instead, I have to keep “skipping” the services until the end of time because they won’t close out my account after already overcharging me and doing a crappy job. I don’t know where they get these “pros” from but they’re the worst. You’re better off getting recommendations word of mouth or doing a little more research on landscaping companies in your area. These people will try to trap you and force you to use their “pros” even if they do a horrible job. My yard is very small. $90 is just straight up thievery. Personally, with the amount they charged just for the first cut, I just spent the extra money and bought myself a lawnmower and I’m going to do it myself. As the saying goes, if you want something done correctly, do it yourself. If you can’t, definitely go with someone else and NOT with LawnStarter. They suck. Just read the other reviews. They’re all consistent with each other. These people should be out of business. Attached are the photos of what was left of my yard after these “pros” cut my grass. Apparently this is what “neat and clean” looks like. What a joke.

We had our lawn mowed for the first time by Kaapro, and we are beyond impressed. The two men who came out were on time, professional, polite, and extremely hardworking. They did an amazing job making our yard look neat, clean, and well cared for. The whole process was quick and simple, and the results were even better than we hoped. We will definitely use them again and highly recommend their services!

Terrible and unethical company. Quoted me $347 for one time yard maintenance - I requested hedges to be trimmed. They did 10% of the work, and charged me in full. I disputed this the day after, and despite photographic evidence, they still charged me. They do a an awful job with lawn mowing too. Per a consultation with a different lawn care professional, they cut it too short for Florida, and blades were dull leaving it uneven. They obviously missed spots, too. I DO NOT recommend them.

The people sent out are only good the first few times. I have 2 properties mowed by lawnstarter. My home and my business. At my home they stopped blowing off the entire outside (I have video of when they were good and when they got lazy from my security cameras) and started blowing wet grass all over the white vinyl fence and leaving it for me to clean. Same thing with my businesses. Won't blow off the lot. Miss a bunch of spots, wont even move fallen sticks from trees just mow around it. When I request a new pro they match me up with the same one? Will just have to move on and find something reliable. They also pretty expensive for what we get, it was convenient at first but after multiple cuts its not worth the headache and going behind them.

Bennett and his crew were quick and did just what I needed. They came when they said they would. It can be hard to find a company and crew that will do a small space job and be dependable - Lawn Starter and Bennett met that need for me. Would definitely recommend, and may consider other services in the future.
