Excellent place to get bamboo that won't take over your yard. They also carry plants and yard bling you won't find other places. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Very nice experience. Cooper loves it.

If you're interested in any species of bamboo to grow on your yard, this is definitely the place to go. Friendly and very knowledgeable staff and they deliver, of course they'll charge.

This spot is a little oasis and feels much more like a garden than a nursery. They have excellent full grown examples of many different variations of bamboo. The fellow that helped was extremely knowledgeable about his plants and only tried to scare me a little bit with growing as a cash crop. They also stock plenty of palms as well.

Favorite plant store! They have cool and exotic plants that I’ve not seen at any other stores. Terry is the man and can answer any question you have. Highly recommend!

My company, Rent-All City, purchased a Bamboo Arbor from Island's Bamboo Garden. We are incredibly pleased with the product that they hand made for us. An absolutely beautiful arbor. I picked up the arbor from their location and came to see that they had over 30 species of bamboo growing there. You can find just the right one to suit your needs!

The owner was super helpful and assisted us in finding the perfect bamboo for our specific needs. He was extremely knowledgeable. We will definitely be back!

I came here to get some bamboo for some privacy in my yard, and I left VERY satisfied. Nathan answered all of our questions about growth rate, care, spread, and anything else we could think of. They had bamboo at several stages of development, and also had some fully grown examples so we could see exactly what we were getting. They also helped us load it into my car, which was a bit of an ordeal, but it worked out really well.

I had read on Next Door wonderful things about Island Bamboo and their ability to remove bamboo. I called for an estimate and they required a $50 fee pre-charged to my credit card which I agreed to and arranged. Two gentleman came and being that the bamboo was high and intertwined with electrical wires, they were hesitant about giving me an estimate right then so they told me they would email it to me. It is now several months later and no estimate but I am not surprised given their discussion while here, some of which involved the Duke Energy lines. I called Duke Energy and twice they have sent someone out to evaluate the situation. The only line that is theirs and not a cable company is one that is wrapped and not a danger to anyone. Now I am back to using my usual company which while expensive, comes when they say they are going to do, do what they say they are going to and cleans up like a professional. And oh, for the $50 I have nothing. I originally posted this review as a one but am changing it to a three based on the follow-up I received from this review. One of the owners of the company called me and I ended up speaking with both him and Maria with the result that I received an apology and a refund of my $50 and an offer of a return visit and an estimation but I opted on my current path. Scott accepted the review as a learning opportunity for follow through with customers.

This is the most awesome plant store i've ever seen before. I would recommend it to anyone looking for rare exotic to succulents and orchids and every sort of bamboo. The customer service is impeccable as well. Thank you from Heftys helpers.

Very helpful. Went in looking forwa specific bamboo. They asked the why and where. Showed me other species that may do better. I really appreciate it. They did not have any in stock of my new choice but a few weeks later they had plenty. Very knowledgeable. I can't wait to go back and get more.

Customer service was top notch! The young lady who helped my wife and I was awesome. She took her time and explained to us the different types of bamboo and how they could best suit our needs. Very rude customer service. I went there this morning from Apollo Beach to Pinellas Park after I ask them on Facebook for the price of one plant, but they never answer me. I went in person, drove for more than an hour I was standing in front of the lady at the counter ( Brittany) for over 10 minutes to ask if she would send me someone because I want to buy a couple of plants, well she didn't even raise her eyes to let me know she was going to help me or greed me, she ignored me 100% very rude. I bought 3 plants there but you guys would never have my business again. I am a business owner and I greet every customer no matter how busy I get. Thanks for making me feel like nothing.

Everyone has an opinion of what their landscaping should look like. We were a blank slate other than we knew wanted bamboo. This company come out talked a little with us regarding our taste and needs, sent over a detailed drawing and nailed it all the way through even past the payment. Terry the owner just went above and beyond (1month) after and helped out. The installers were extremely courteous and clean. The back yard looks fantastic!! Thanks again, Terry!

I recently visited Island Bamboo in Pinellas Park, in search of the perfect bamboo for my landscaping project, and I was blown away by the amazing selection! They had a vast array of different types and sizes, from towering giants to delicate clumpers, catering to every need and preference.

What truly elevated the experience was the exceptional service I received from Rob. He was a walking encyclopedia of bamboo knowledge, patiently taking the time to understand my specific requirements, including space limitations, growing conditions, and desired overall landscape aesthetic. He didn't just point me towards a random plant; he actively listened and offered insightful recommendations, ensuring I made the best choice for my project.

Thanks to Rob's expert guidance, I avoided the pitfalls of online shopping and confidently selected the perfect variety of bamboo that will thrive in my space and achieve my design goals. I'm so grateful for his expertise, patience, and genuine care – it's clear he loves what he does!

This place is a hidden gem that everyone needs to check out! They have a nice selection of flowering perennials, unique succulents, and colorful bromeliads. I was able to find just what I was looking for, plus a few more must-haves! If you’re looking for bamboo, this is THE PLACE, as the name suggests. Rob and Violet were super helpful and friendly. I can’t wait to go back to see what beauties they get in!

Today I focused mostly on Florida native species. They had a sweet selection to choose from.
Always enjoy going there. They have everything you need from A to Z. The plants are in appropriate soil so you don't have to be concerned.
It's a walk in the park.
