What a gong show it was dealing with this company.

I had a terrible experience dealing with this company from top to bottom. They were recommended to us by the company that installed our kitchen. During the first visit, the owner provided a rough estimate of the required work, followed by the actual electrician who claimed the job would take only 5 minutes. Indeed, it took just 5 minutes, and afterward, we asked if he could also install the new exhaust fan. However, the electrician was very rough with our appliances, dropping heavy items on our Induction Cooktop. I thought it was either going to break or get scratched.

The installation of the exhaust fan was quick, but the unit shook when turned on, and it was off-centered, blocking the cabinet door from opening. The electrician's time here was less than an hour. During the install, a tile guy came for a visit and, in the process, accidentally locked his dog in his truck. Luckily for him, the electrician offered to help, and after 30-40 minutes, he managed to unlock the door, saving the dog.

When the electrician returned, he handed me a bill for 2 hours, despite the shoddy installation of the exhaust and having only spent an hour actually working on our project.

The following day, I called R. Thompson to complain about the installation. They sent the same individual who did the initial install, and it was nothing but profanity from the moment he walked in. Fortunately, there was an emergency call, and he had to leave. I called the office again, requesting that he not return.

I spoke at length with the owner, who apologized and even visited our house to discuss it further. I was assured that the next electrician would properly handle the installation. However, when the next electrician arrived, he stated that they didn't install exhaust fans! He completed the other tasks and left me with another bill without fixing my problem.

The GE exhaust fan manufacturer offered to send a tech to our home. Two techs were sent, and both indicated that the unit was not properly installed. This led to us having to hire another installer to fix the problem.

When I conveyed this information to the owner, instead of offering a solution, such as a partial refund, he argued with me. I could bring this complaint to a small claims court and win. I have photos from that day, including the incident with the dog and the installation of the hood."

Professional work done at a fair price. Chris did the installation for our EV charger in a reasonable amount of time. We will use R Thompson Electric for any future electrical work.

Brad was phenomenal! He came and fixed the problem promptly and professionally. Went above and beyond to explain everything so I completely understood the process and made suggestions for me to have search tools for future upgrade. Excellent service would would highly recommend this company and wish more employees were like him!

R Thompson Electric did a Heck of a job!!! The tech was amazing. Explained exactly what needed to be done and conducted him self like a true professional. I had a service mast that needed to be repaired. The owner came out to give the quote. He Gave a very fair and accurate quote. The receptionist took care of all of the permits and inspection without a hitch.overall my experience with them was amazing and would highly recommend others to use them.

Chris arrived on time and went right to work. He was very professional and highly skilled at his job. He worked all day and cleaned up after himself. Your company was very helpful with permits and scheduling to get everything ready for installation. I am very happy with the work and will refer anyone I know for electrical work to your company.

Melissa the Office manager was very professional and patient regarding our schedule delays waiting for the pool contractor to finish their work. Chris Doss completed the Pool equipment installation. He was very knowledgeable with the low voltage and line voltage of pool equipment, We are very happy with their work. We will definitely call on them again.
4-7-25 update...we had Thompson put in some LED lights in the kitchen and LR more than a year ago. A few of them stopped working and we called and let Rick Thompson know. He personally stepped up and had them replaced for us promptly...no problem..no charge. A stand up guy and a stand up company!

I recently lost power to part of my house. Having used R Thompson Electric in the past and been very happy with their work and very reasonable pricing, I called them. Chris came out and quickly fixed the problem along with another small issue I was having. He was great. He was also very polite and friendly. I would highly recommend this company. I had the pleasure of meeting with Robert, the owner of R Thompson, and to have him complete an electrical upgrade for the installation of a new heat pump water heater. He was professional, neat, and exhibited true knowledge of the job at hand.

Bob shared an estimate and Chris initiated the work soon after. Chris was thorough, meticulous and very knowledgeable about the work and soon was able to gain insight on the work previously done at our home. Without any reservation, I would be reaching out to Bob and Chris again if need arises.

I had light pendants installed and I’m extremely disappointed with the quality of the work. After beginning a ceiling remodel, we discovered that the pendant holes were drilled unevenly. We had to use additional materials to correct the poor workmanship. Considering the amount I paid, the appearance and overall service were unacceptable. I would not recommend this installer.

Bob’s staff at R Thompson is excellent. Their company has become the preferred electrical vendor of our entire condo community. They have handled everything from small to large projects, always exceeding expectations. They’re quick to respond, quick to get work done and always professional.

Bob is the best. He arranged to get someone out promptly the next morning despite my late afternoon request. Will was terrific-arrived 20 minutes after Melanie called to set up the appointment! Will is a pro! Very knowledgeable and efficient. Helped me with multiple issues-always with a smile on his face! He even helped me bring the generator back into the garage!

Jose was on time, professional, and patient. It's usually hard to find all those qualities in one person. He allowed me the opportunity to ask questions, he explained things very thoroughly, and even gave advice on other options pertaining to the topics that we've discussed. It's workers like him that add positivity to the company name. He went above and beyond and even took extra precautions to double check everything before I even mentioned it to him. You could tell he takes great pride in his work. These are the types of people you want working for you. So if you do end up using Ehman, hopefully you get Jose or someone that has the same work ethic.

These guys are the best!! I had an electrical that needed immediate attention. Two pro techs came out to my house , were highly professional and got the job done quickly. Highly recommend!!

Abraham was at our home today to give us an estimate for an installation of a portable generator. He was professional, knowledgeable, and extremely thorough in his explanation of the process.
