Excellent service and excellent technician. He explained what he was doing. Was patient helping us reset or smart t stat. He fixed our issue and made some good recommendations. I would recommend them!!!!

We have five units and 2 dehumidifier’s, so a pretty big service each time. The I Know A Guy techs are efficient, hard working and thoughtful. I recommend them to anyone.

Beware of Carrier
We are in Sun City Center Florida. Shortly after buying this house we had new HVAC unit installed. That was 3 years ago. A heat pump and air handler combo from Carrier. Installed by Caldeco. Told it was a good brand and good unit. It was not the top of line but not the cheapest either. This Carrier unit has had problems from the beginning. We have had about a dozen service calls. It seems like 50 but 12 is about right. One service call was a clogged drain which was on me. I learned Florida requires different maintenance than Ohio. The balance were for 2 seemingly unrelated problems. One is the heat pump unit was not shutting off and a literal block of ice was forming in the air handler around the coils and cold air was falling out of the intake vent. It took several service calls to get that one figured out and it was my Wife pointing out to them that it never shuts off to get them to check the right thing. So it was eventually fixed, or at least that is what we thought. The second one is that occasionally there is a loud squeal /grinding noise when the air handler kicks in. Several calls to fix this one also. The blower has been replaced. The noise still happens we just got sick of rearranging our schedule for yet another service call so we live with the occasional noise. We have put up with this with no public bitching but the latest is just too much.
A week ago we noticed, hard not to, that we were getting air blowing but it was not cool. Turns out the heat pump was not running. One more service call. Heat pump is not running because there is no coolant in the lines. There is no coolant because the coils have a leak. Those same coils that were repeatedly frozen in a solid block of ice, expanded and contracted. Caldeco reps (2) say that is the likely cause of the leak. Caldeco is of course no help. They are “just the installer”. Passing the buck is alive and well. We have been with out AC for a several days waiting for the replacement coils and are being charged $1380 for the repair and just short of $300 for the service call. For a unit that is about 1/5 of its expected life span.

All the above was sent to both parties a month ago. Zero action. It seems doubtful they care at all. Customer service is just too much trouble. We all need AC in Florida. Spend your money with someone else.

Not sure why I received this as the last service call was over a year ago! Maybe they thought I would forget but I haven't.
What I will say about it, the technician to whom I let on to this kid that I didn't have any knowledge of HVAC systems when I know all about them.
He tried to rip me off and stated I needed a condenser motor, still running fine to this day.
Continued with the spring check-up and paid 1/3 the asking price for a starter, wanted over $300 told him I would pay $100.
What a tool, lost my future business.
