Mansfield Landscaping is exemplary! They did an outstanding job tearing out old plant beds, removing rock and replanting with beautiful shrubs, trees and river rock. Steve and his team are the best! I couldn't be happier!

Mansfield just completed landscaping my front yard. They started Friday and finished on Saturday. Steve starts by working with you on putting together a good solid design. They continue by keeping you in the loop from start to finish. They even modify your irrigation to update it to accommodate the new landscaping. The landscape crew is great to work with and you always have the final approval on hardscape design and plant selection. They clean up the yard when they finish and except for the new look you can't tell that they were ever there. They even provide you with tips on pruning, watering and fertilizing. Overall it was a great experience. I recommend Mansfield and I plan to use them for future projects.

Highly recommend! I had a rough vision of a new patio I wanted in my backyard. Steve came out talked it through with me and got a quote on the spot. After signing job started in less than two weeks and was done in a few days. Really happy with the crew that came out as well and Steve checked in on the work. Job well done.

Disclaimer: If you use the owner Steve's service, you align to his method. His website and portfolio is honed to get to the point for job. His communication style my be off putting for many because of the embellishments around the process when starting.

Upon agreeing to a plan, he finishes the job as if it is his own home. The upfront cost is decided and fixed withoutsurprises, he does whatever is needed to leave you content with the outcome.

His workforce is skilled, able to be communicated with, and outcomes quality.

You get what you pay for. I have used 4 other companies in Orlando. This was by far the most efficient and clear group I've ever worked with (done in 5 days for complete front and back landscaping job). While other companies were more personable in first perceptions, the outcomes not the same. He warms up quick.

You want the job done right, budget for it and get it done with this team.

We hired Mansfield Landscaping to put in a retaining wall along the side of our property in order to rid ourselves of an annoying slope between the neighbor's yard and ours. I talked to Steve on the phone on a Saturday and described our project. He was at our house the next day...yes, on a Sunday, to give us an estimate. After we talked about the project and accepted his bid, we began to talk about scheduling the work. He was booked several weeks out (which we had expected). However, he said he'd work us in a bit earlier because my wife was going to be out of town; and he wanted her to be able to see the job upon completion.

He said the job would be completed in 3 days, and he wasn't kidding. We were impressed. His crew worked long, hard days and were a pleasure to have around; we would step out occasionally to see how things were progressing. You could tell that this crew enjoys working together and takes pride in working hard and making the customer happy. They cleaned up the job site including our driveway and even the street in front of our house at the end of each of the work days. Thank you Dan, Felipe, John Wayne, and Tommy! We can't say enough about how much we were impressed with their work ethic, and their desire to satisfy us with a job well done.

The up-front sales approach may put some off, but we are very satisfied with the end result. Our wall is gorgeous thanks to the creativity and effort of Dan and his crew.

After years of letting my yard go into decline and watching the rail road tie retaining wall the subdivision builders put in start to deteriorate, I decided it was time to do something about it. The owner, Steve, came to my house within days of contacting him to give me an estimate. I was happy with the price and within a week or so they started work. His crew was very polite and professional and often worked well up to 7pm the entire week. The job was completed within a week and a half and I am very pleased with the results. As you can see from the before and after pictures the difference is like night and day. I would highly recommend them for your landscaping project.

Mansfield Landscaping has been successfully landscaping in The Villages area for 35 years for a reason…they know what they are doing and stand behind their work! Being from the MidWest and not knowing a thing about Florida friendly landscaping, we found the positive and numerous reviews for Mansfield Landscaping a level of comfort when considering a significant makeover of our property. Steve responded quickly to our call and provided enough comfort for us to pull the trigger. Boy, are we glad we did! If you are looking for fancy drawings and computer graphics, Steve’s probably not your guy. But if you want a landscaping job that will knock your socks off and make your neighbors stop and stare, you found the right contractor! Steve said he wouldn’t nickel and dime us to death and he kept his word as his price didn’t change a bit, even after multiple plan changes and additional lighting. His crew, (Dan, John Wayne, Mr. Pickles and Philipe) were just awesome…incredibly hard working, but more importantly, really cared about how the job looked. They were attentive to every detail and took pride in their work. We made the right call, without question.

Our primary goal was to eliminate some lawn and replace it harmoniously with our lot. To do this we wanted a fairly natural looking garden. We also wanted easy access between the lanai and the pool equipment. A secondary goal was to improve the curb appeal.

Steve and his crew met these requirements in only two full days. We have had several neighbors comment on how nice it looks. We are very happy with the results. Steve met with us in the evening to refine what we wanted. He presented us with a contract to meet our budget. The job was started 8 days later. We really like the improvements. We also liked the "no risk" approach. We did not pay a thing until the job was done.

We are so proud of our new landscape. Mr Mansfield's crew worked diligently to finish the job as designed and on time. His insight in plants and their positioning within the design was masterful. We would use this company for all future landscape needs. Thank you.

Steve and his team were able to create a backyard Oasis for us!
His method seems a little unusual at first (a neighbor recommended them to me and shared what to expect) - but it makes 100% sense because it is all his years of intellectual capital and experience he is offering!
We had other landscape designers come out hear our ideas and then take weeks to come back with a proposal (after several follow-ups) and completely miss the mark.
Steve comes out listens to what you want first - repeats it back - then offers suggestions to come to a mutual idea. He then draws up the plans on the spot and offers the proposal then and there - leaving us with confidence and excitement.

His team was incredible - very kind and professional, while also attentive to detail and skilled in their trades.

From start to finish Mansfield Landscaping did a fantastic job for us. We needed lots of clean up, mulching, plant removal and new plantings throughout our acre lot. The entire crew worked efficiently to get the job done in a timely matter. My husband and I were really happy and satisfied with the end result.

We had a pool installed which caused the destruction of 3 of my sprinkler zones and lack of water and construction caused much damage to sod requiring replacement. We contacted Mansfield and Steve (owner) arrived at house to review the project. Our initial thought was irrigation and sod replacement. Steve walked the site and came up with some excellent ideas with regard to landscaping including building several stacked walls. Wife and I found the design phase very satisfactory and having same company doing the irrigation system and sod replacement a good idea as the coordination of these two items would be controlled by Steve. Once contract was signed Steve had his crews out here very quickly. Nick the irrigation person has been very easy to work with and has returned twice to correct some issues under warranty. Of all the work my only negative aspect has been the installation of the sod. Crew placing the sod left gaps between strips of sod which gave the appearance of trestles on a railroad track. This made walking on the sod extremely difficult. If I were to disregard the sod work I would rate Mansfield as 5 star however, the sod was done poorly and this brings the overall rating down to 3 stars. Would I use Mansfield again - probably not based on the installation of the sod. Steve kept asking me to input my rating but I waited until the sprinkler and drainage issues were resolved. Based on my waiting on these corrections Steve said he was reducing my one year warranty to a 90 day warranty. Mind you that Steve charged us over $25,000 for this project.

Update as of 7 March 2025: Mansfield Landscaping planted approximately 40 podacarpus as part of the package. Attached are some pictures showing 11 of these plants as either dead or dying. I sent a video to Steve Mansfield (owner) and he was more concerned with me revising my previous review (3 stars) up than addressing the problem. Note that Mansfield did the irrigation so if it is a watering problem (which I don’t think it is) it is on Mansfield.

Latest update: on 14 March 2025 I received a phone message (recorded on my vm) from Steve saying he had two attorneys lined up to sue me if I didn’t change my rating within 3 days. Therefore, taking Steve’s advice. I have decided to change my rating from 3 stars to 2 stars to reflect the service (both physical and customer) I received from Mansfield Landscaping - specifically Steve Mansfield.

Shout out to Mansfield Landscaping they did a great job on our landscaping around our birdcage. Even pruned back our existing shrubs. From start to finish just 2 days, Steve did exactly what we wanted it came out perfect. Would definitely recommend this company.

We have a home that was built in 1956 that still maintained some of its original landscaping and was in dire need of updating. A phone pop-up ad directed us to Mansfield landscaping and after researching the website and other reviews we contacted Steve Mansfield for an estimate. There is a reason why he says he will be your last or only estimate. Steve was prompt for the estimate appointment and spent over an hour offering suggestions and gathering input from us about what we wanted while also making suggestions of what would work best. Once we agreed on cost and scope of the project, the work started on the date specified and was finished on time with superior results. Steve’s crew provided quality work and materials and paid extreme attention to the smallest details, including a thorough cleanup at the end of each workday. We were extremely comfortable with his knowledge and level of input to the project, and equally impressed by his multiple trips to oversee the project while it was ongoing, as well as coming by for a final inspection to make sure we were completely satisfied. We would highly recommend Steve and Mansfield Landscaping for any project of this magnitude.

We had a pool installed recently and the landscaping company we had been recommended kept dragging their feet on getting the project started. While waiting on callbacks and estimates, we decided to go to a local company and check them out. We just stopped by Mansfield Landscaping without an appointment. We were greeted by Steve and he spent over an hour with us discussing how he works and what he had to offer us. At that time, he showed us all the products he had and could select for our project. He allowed us to hand select our palms and trees as well as the stones and pavers for the hardscape. Steve had a huge selection to choose from and it was great to be able to actually see the products before they arrived for the project. The next day Steve came to our house to give us an estimate. In less than two weeks, this large project was complete. It wasn’t cheap but we feel it was worth it. He delivered a beautiful product and we are very pleased. I know we will enjoy it for years to come. We would recommend his service highly.

We had our front yard transformed by Mansfield Landscaping. For two days his crews works tirelessly to complete the job. I have found them to be very thorough and customer oriented. We needed two drains installed which was done by Nick who made sure that everything was done properly and working, even fixed a sprinkler head that was not working. Steve, the owner of Mansfield Landscaping was on site both days to ensure that everything he put in the scope of work was being done. He picked plants and bushes and a tree that would fit the design perfectly. I appreciate his vision for the transformation of our property. Would definitely recommend.
