Garage Builder reviews across the US

Bari was absolutely phenomenal with his quick response and thorough planning. He was so easy to talk things over with and his experience and expertise shine through when discussing a project.

Bari is very knowledgeable, personable, and quick to respond. He outlined the steps we needed to take in preparation for a partial shop conversion. The first was a new roof and he recommended a roofing company which did a great job. Due to a death in the family we are not proceeding with the remodel but would definitely hire Bari if we ever move forward.

I am writing to express my sincere gratitude to Bari Swartz at Red Umbrella for building an ADU for my mom. From the beginning, his knowledge and expertise were evident, and I truly appreciated how patient and thorough he was throughout the entire process, offering creative solutions and communicating complex ideas in clear terms. As first-time home builders, we had a lot of questions, and he guided us every step of the way, whether it was dealing with the City, navigating codes, or coordinating with all of the subcontractors.

The end result exceeded all of our expectations and we are thrilled with the results. My mom absolutely loves her house. It is a beautiful and well-crafted, very livable small home.

Working with Bari was a pleasure. We will definitely recommend Bari at Red Umbrella to friends, family and neighbors who are looking for quality construction.

Thank you once again, Bari!

Sincerely,

Sylvia, Chris and Lisa

Here’s a polished, **stellar review** that feels authentic, warm, and credible—great for Google, Yelp, or the company website:

Red Umbrella truly stands out in a crowded field of building contractors. In a time when most of us are asked to do more with fewer resources, it’s refreshing to work with a company that *gets it*—and shows up with skill, integrity, and care, no matter the size of the project.

Owner **Bari Swartz** brings over 25 years of experience to every job, and it shows in both the craftsmanship and the way clients are treated. Red Umbrella doesn’t just build garages beautifully using top-tier materials—they build trust. Their guiding principles aren’t marketing slogans; they’re lived values you feel throughout the entire process.

What impressed me most was their **simplicity and clarity**. They manage the complexity so you don’t have to, freeing up time and mental space to focus on your life, not a construction headache. The team is highly professional, detail-oriented, and clearly committed to quality control and a 100% satisfaction guarantee.

Red Umbrella takes the time to truly understand their clients’ needs and consistently exceeds expectations with unrivaled workmanship and thoughtful communication. If you’re looking for a contractor who combines professionalism, precision, and genuine care for their clients, Red Umbrella is an easy and confident choice.

Highly recommended.

Bari Swartz of Red Umbrella Services built us a fine, 600 Sq. Ft. cottage (ADU) in our back yard in Eugene. We are very pleased with the outcome. He was helpful from start to finish through the permit process, dealing with the city and various sub-contractors, and even after final inspection and occupancy was approved. His communication was especially helpful and honest.

Even though there were a few hiccups (small delays, inflation, etc.), Bari kept our budget within bounds and made sure the job was done in a timely manner and with quality workmanship.

My wife and I highly recommend having Red Umbrella Services build a structure for any family.

Minneapolis St Paul Garage Builders did a great job on my project. Demoed my old garage and built a 24x24 garage on a new slab. The crews that did the work were terrific and the project manager was good at communicating. After searching for a while and getting really high bids from more general contractors I found this company and they came in under my budget. Would definitely recommend and I know they do far more complex jobs than mine. The new garage has increased our homes value and improved our quality of life. Thanks!!

Minneapolis Garage built me a beautiful garage! From start to finish, everything went smoothly. They had given me an outline of when to expect each step to be done, and they followed that timeline pretty closely. Each crew member was considerate and polite, and focused on getting the work done correctly. Little things came up, as they do with any construction project, but the project manager, Travis, always responded to my text with a phone call, by end of day, and took whatever action was needed. ( I also utilized the expertise of Baark Fencing at end of project, to reconstruct my fencing and make some adjustments. Again, very easy to work with and did a great job). I highly recommend Minneapolis Garage Builders!

Minneapolis Garage just completed a three car garage for us in St Paul, and they did a great job. They were very responsive throughout the project and addressed all our requests. I would recommend them to friends and family. It is also worth noting that their price was much better than a local competitor.

Joe and the crew communicated upfront and throughout the project with scheduling and next steps. We are very happy with the quality of the work and the finished product. There were no surprises and everything moved along smoothly. I would recommend Minneapolis Garage to anyone looking to add or replace a garage.

We are thrilled with our new garage by Minneapolis Garage. From the first contact we have felt a connection with everyone that had a hand in tearing down and constructing our new garage. We had someone to contact at all phases of the build who responded to our question’s in a timely fashion. The workers were friendly and cleaned up when completing each phase of production.
The people and company’s that work with Minneapolis Garage were also respectful, timely and helpful. If you are looking to tear down your old garage and get a new one, Minneapolis Garage takes care of everything.
Special shout out to Joe and Travis for tending to the process.
Thank you for everything!

Minneapolis Garage Builders did a great job tearing down our old garage and building a brand new one. They completed the job on schedule, and their crews were all very polite, professional, and easy to work with. They have the most competitive pricing in the Twin Cities Metro area for garage building. I would highly recommend them for your garage project. Joe and Travis are organized, dependable, and trust-worthy. We are so happy with our new, bigger garage. Great Job guys!

We had an excellent experience with MPLS Garage Builders. We had a 60 year old garage that was in dire need of replacement. They handled everything from demo, new concrete slab, framing, siding, roofing, garage door, electrical - everything. Our project manager Travis did a fantastic job handling all the logistics and promptly responded to any and all of our communication. We cannot recommend them enough!

The team was outstanding! They maintained a clean site and were incredibly easy to work with. The references they provided made it simple to view other garages, which really helped in selecting the siding, garage door, and lighting. I'm glad I chose Minneapolis Garage Builders.

Smartside lap siding with 6.5" reveal, 4 sides overhanging, painted white. 18' x 7' garage door.

I had MPLS Garage do a full knock down/rebuild of my garage and every step of the way they were thoughtful, professional, courteous and did excellent work. The final garage is amazing and exactly as we had laid out the plan. They give you a notice up front that warns each customer to be patient with delays due to the nature of the work as there are many elements involved (including other contractors and inspections), so definitely read that entire document and be prepared to be patient with the process! But, despite the delays, they came through with a fantastic result and I'm very happy.

Minneapolis Garage Builders did a great job on our new garage. Everyone working on the project did quality work and wanted the customer to be totally happy with the finished product. They kept me in the loop through all the steps of the project and responded when I had questions. My project included tearing down an old garage, doing new concrete for garage and driveway, electrical service to the new garage and removing and replacing a section of my fence. I highly recommend them for your garage project.

Minneapolis Garage Builders has built multiple garages for our company over the past few years and every experience is exceptional. The planning, communication from the crews, and timelines always exceed my expectations. I would recommend this company to anyone in need of a garage.

Had our garage built with them in summer 2024. Very much appreciate their honesty, communication (a rainy rainy early summer so delays) and not trying to oversell us. Highly recommend Joe and his crew. All contractors do great work and will circle back around if any issues.

We are thrilled with our new garage from Minneapolis Garage Builders! They were efficient, clean, and professional. Our garage was finished on time and on budget. The project manager was incredible; communication was excellent, and we knew any issues or questions we had would be addressed and solved. We would highly recommend Minneapolis Garage Builders to everyone we know.

We contracted with Minneapolis Garage this summer to remove our aged single car garage and install a 2-car garage. The experience went smoothly from tear down to final construction. They know garages. We found them to be open and helpful with planning, prep and construction. Any issue that came up (there are always a few) was discussed and solved together. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

Joe came out and had a great discussion about what we wanted and together we planned out what would work for us. It was a real collaborative effort. We felt no pressure to add things to the garage. When the work started we were constantly surprised at how well things were done and how neat the crews were. I am a DIYer at heart and I don't have a feeling of I could have done it better. Thanks Joe and the crews that built our garage.

Minneapolis Garage was awesome - very happy with our new garage.
Crews were great from start to finish.
Planning was easy and flexible - great advice on selecting doors, siding etc.
Demolition was quick - followed by cement (was fast and looked good) - then framing, siding and roofing happened right away - looked like a real garage. Door and the electrical followed.
Backfill and touch up crew were excellent - made everything look good and kept the site clean.
Issues were resolved quickly and we were informed on what was happening at each step so we knew what to expect and when.
Inspectors know who Minneapolis Garage is and both said good things about them and how good of a job they do.
Would highly recommend Minneapolis Garage!
Thanks
