Electrical reviews in Atlanta, Georgia

Cecil Davis and his son`s provided below subpar standard of work to my house in regards to electrical work. They have been to my house twice and each time left exposed wires that were live; Improper installation of a circuit breaker box. They installed the box held up with one screw and cut the stud out of the wall supposing the stud got in there way of installing the box. He refuses to accept poor workmanship when bought to his attention. Please be aware of there services, I believe they prey on unsuspecting single women homeowner(s).

It's unfortunate that this wasn't handled properly, but I cannot under any circumstances recommend Cecil and his team.
I hired Cecil, as per my realtors referral, to do some electrical wiring for an X-ray unit in a commercial building. His initial electrical "reading" told us that the office building had a 480 volt feed into the panel. This reading prompted my x-ray engineer and I to order a 480v compatible generator for the installation process. It wasn't until we hooked everything up that we realized the building had 208v 3-phase voltage, not 480v, but that Cecil hadn't even looked to find out! It says it right there on the outside of the panel, and you can hook up a standard volt meter to the wires and read the voltage and current.
This negligence cost me $6,000 in ordering a brand new generator, shipping costs, plus the time and travel expenses for my x-ray engineer.
I then asked him to replace the wiring for this initial install because 480v wires cannot be used on a 208v current. After he finished "correcting" his mistake, we realized that none of the wires had been properly wrapped or placed in a metal conduit. If not for my x-ray engineer looking above the ceiling tiles, I would never have known this was the case.
I had two electricians and one electrical engineer come by to get a building calculation and make sure the work was done properly, and each of them were astounded by what they saw. One electrician from Pat Murphy Electric said "an electrician didn't do this. There's no way this guy is a licensed electrician."
And he was right... I went on the Georgia registry for contractors and electricians, and I couldn't find any record under the name "Cecil Davis" or "Cecil Davis Contractors".
It's one thing to make a mistake, but another to continue to add more problems to the situation. He said he'd "make it right" but when I asked him 3-4 times to give me an update or claim number from his insurance, he said they hadn't gotten back to him. I now believe he isn't insured, because he isn't licensed, and has no idea what he's doing. I'm now forced to settle this matter in small claims court, but the original attempt to serve him came back as "no response or contact".
Please save yourself the money, headache, and potential danger by passing on this company, and hiring a licensed electrician. -
I will never use Cecil and his sons services ever again. I should've learned from the first time 8 years ago how their work mediocre. I thought over time he had gotten better. Cecil came to my home to finish up my master bathroom remodel from a previous contractor that I fired. My shower looks like crap. Grout was put on my shower walls and floor as if a toddler did it. His sons were drinking alcohol in my garage. The shower tiles cracked due to their negligence of not grouting them correctly. Dust and trash was everywhere. Some days were missed of them coming to do the job. I was given excuse after excuse. I had to constantly point out things to finish up. They left my shower wall tiles and shower floor with such a heavy haze. A couple of main floor tiles weren't put down correctly. I asked Cecil to paint and add shelves to the old shower that was turned into a linen closet by the 1st contractor. That came out a mess. Now, I have to redo my shower floor due to water getting under the dang tiles from their mistakes. He won't return my calls nor text messages.

The Charge Right team did electrical work at a house we were renovating. They were always on time, replaced all the outlets and switches in the house, added a surge protector, switched out fixtures and ceiling fans in every room. I plan to have them update several things in my own house soon.

I used Charge Right Electric to assess my wiring in the townhome I purchased last year. I knew the building was older and that the wiring was aluminum and I expected to have to replace the panel and redo lots of the wiring. The owner, Leif Coburn is a great guy and he sent out Colton, one of his technicians to assess the repairs needed. He showed me that my panel had been replaced already which saved me a fortune and he went through the place room by room and quickly fixed the few outlets that had been causing problems. We had seen sparks come from one outlet after plugging something in to a different one and were scared to use either of them and had flickering lights due to another switch and he fixed everything in less than an hour and explained to us what was causing the arcs etc. We’ve had no fear using anything since then. These guys are quick, honest, and very knowledgeable. They made a customer for life. I don’t mind paying for quality honest work and I know now they provide both.

Charge Right exceeded expectations for an electrician contractor (or any type of contractor).
They charged a reasonable amount, were timely in their response, scheduled and provided the service quickly, and followed-up to make sure the work met my needs. I would definitely use Charge Right again, and would recommend them to my friends and neighbors. -
Great to work with. Very knowledgeable. I had several different jobs from rewiring under cabinet lights, adding new outlets and hanging new lights. Very happy.
