Bad day

Let me be the 1st to say I love my company and the guys really love making clients happy.

The service from this company was ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. The 2 workers that he has working for him came to my house drunk . You can literally smell the alcohol on their breath . The electric work he did on my house was wrong . He put everything under one breaker , almost giving me an electric fire. I gave him money to finish the job and I had to hire outside work to complete it . Use this company at your own risk . I’m so disappointed with the work and the complete disrespect he has shown not only to me but to himself . From what he did he has no pride in himself and his work . If I could give Zero stars I would !!!

They really go hard to please customers, which sometimes include working late, weekends , out of town, you name it! i listed some pictures of our real work, not fake like others. we love it, we love what we do. 26 years now! After interviewing several contractors in the Atlanta area , we selected affordable remodeling to renovate our basement . We added a wet bar and workout room along with a new wet bar. The service was on par and so was the pricing .

Please read and do not hire this company!!! I know this is a long review. I waited around 6 months before writing this review in hopes that the owner/contractor would do the right thing. Sadly that has not happened. We hired AR to renovate one full bath and one half bath in our home. The owner, Hunt, was extremely responsive, and borderline aggressive, when going through the pricing process. Ultimately we chose this company due to their fair pricing alongside good reviews. The renovation process was pretty smooth overall. The crews were respectful and communicative. And in the end we were initially very happy with the end product. However during the construction process there were a number of red flags that gave us pause and concern (turns out we were right to be concerned):
1. We found out in the middle of the renovation that the crew wasn’t actually employed by Affordable Remodeling - they worked for a different company and did work for AR on the side sometimes…
2. Hunt only wanted to be paid through Zelle and would become angry when payment did not hit his bank account immediately even though we explained to him that our bank required a holding period of three days before releasing Zelle payments of a certain size.
3. He would randomly ask for “draw payments” without any sort of formal invoice or explanation as to why he needed them.
4. He only wanted to text
5. He added on numerous charges at the end for stuff that should have been either included in the initial bid or cheaper than what was initially quoted.
There were other flags, but those were some big ones. But as I stated, overall the process was smooth enough and we were happy with the end product. However only 3 months later we started to have issues. Grout cracking in both bathrooms, leaks from the tub and toilet, bubbling paint on the ceiling. We contacted Hunt as everything should have been under warranty for a year per the contract we signed. No response. We’ve contacted him by email, text, phone calls, nothing. We had a lawyer contact him. Nothing. At one point his website had been taken down, though it seems to be back up now. He has refused to acknowledge us and the problems in his work. We have had to spend large chunks of money to fix these issues and continue to find things wrong. We thought about going to small claims court, however the amount of time, effort, and money it would take probably wouldn’t be worth it. Especially because there is no guarantee we would get reimbursed from AR. So I write this review instead in hopes that it will prevent at least one person from ending up in our same situation.

I have photographed Hunt’s work and it’s amazing. They remodeled our home and built us a new kitchen in Chastain Park and the crews did an amazing job . Thanks for your efforts!
