George and his team were great, the work was good and there were no surprises when it came time to pay the bill. i will definitely use AHR again and have already recommended them to a friend.

George is very dependable and reliable. His promptness and work ethics are fantastic! I know I will have some other jobs in the future for him to do! Thanks again George for the great job everything was done excellently done!

If I could select NO STARS I would. I absolutely would NOT recommend Affordable Home Repair (AHR) for any sort of job. The only thing they did well was show up to look at the job requirement and provided a timely estimate. Everything else went down hill from there. The new contractor just informed me that all $950 worth of material from Home Depot was incorrect and needs to be returned, with the exception of the tar paper and shingles. In fairness, maybe AHR just had a bad month, but I will never call them again. I can also confirm the one review about AHR waiting for SUNNY weather before they can start the job.

We have not heard from them in a month. Their voicemail has been full for a week. We received our estimate in June. It is September. Of course, our floors have gotten worse. Next week, I'm going to start calling other construction/floor companies. 11-3-20 I haven't called other companies. I was called. When I got through to Jason, who I have dealt with the whole time, I found out that there was a serious medical issue. Before anyone freaks out, it was not coronavirus. I'm still waiting and only getting a George Thomas answering machine with a full voice-mail. I do sincerely hope this works out well and I can add more stars to my rating.

Horrible communication. The quality of work was poor. We had do buy all new tile after the first person that installed the tile messed it up so bad. George said they were going to fix all the tile, we had to buy all new tile and it was even worse the second time. So for the third time we will have to buy all new tile for our master bath. There were several days they were supposed to show up and didn't.

Called George on a Thursday evening several weeks ago needing helping putting a sign face back up on the front of a building. The job should have taken an hour or less. George stated that he would charge an hour for it. While on the phone with him we began to discuss that I did Tshirts. He stated that he need a few so before the call was over we decided to trade the tshirts for his hour of labor.
The next day, Friday, George came out to the site where the work needed to be done. He looked at what was involved and agreed that it could be done in an hour or less. At that point, I fulfilled my end of the agreement and gave him the tshirts.
Later that afternoon I texted George to find out when he would be coming back to do the job. He stated that he had a job the next morning but would be there to put the sign back up sometime after 1pm Saturday.
This is the point that George fell off the face of the earth. He did not do the job Saturday and from that point on would not answer phone calls or respond to texts. Mind you, his response to texts prior to this was within one to two minutes. I continued to try and call and text on Sunday and Monday and he still to this day has not returned a call or text.
I had to call someone else on Monday which was a holiday. This person went out to the work site that day and had it installed before the was over.

Wish I would have read the reviews before choosing to do business with George. The interaction I had with George is identical to most of these other posts. He got his tshirts out of the deal but left me hanging.

I called George from Affordable Home Repair in search of help painting a wall. He was able to fit me into his busy schedule,in the same day, without charging a small fortune,and within 2 hrs of my first call! When They arrived they were kind and took the time to talk to my grandfather, they then scoped out the job and got right to work. 2hrs later, nice conversation,and help moving two pieces of furniture. The job was done and my wall looks great, Thankyou Affordable Home Repair, yall did a great job! Definitely will be using them again!

It started off well with George being on time and receptive to the work I was asking to have done. I had a fireplace that needed tiled, a few bricks replaced, some painting, caulking, and a little drywall work that needed to be finished. He originally said it would take approximately a week. his employee showed up on time the first day, but brought no tools and said he didn't know what he was going to do at my house. I accepted this one case of being ill prepared and let the guy use some of my personal tools. He said next time he would have everything he needed. He showed up again the next day worked about 4 hours caulking wainscoting, then left. No one returned to my house to work for 4 days. No calls, no email, just no one showed until i texted to see when they would be back. (this was after the supervisor asked for $300 for work completed) I went on a business trip for approximately a week. When I returned there was trash all over the room (boiled peanuts, soda bottles, etc) paint all over the windows, new hardwood floors, my personal tools, and even all over my kitchen. I sent George an email with pictures and had him come look at the state of my house. He told me he was going to fire the guys responsible and fix it immediately. Over the next 3-4 days they cleaned up a few hours a day. After that no one worked on it again for a few days. Then the same guys they "fired" came back to work. Long story short they never finished. After they painted over a cracked drywall seam and I asked them to fix it, the supervisor looked right at me and asked "How?". I let them fix that, pointed out a few other mistakes I wanted fixed (they didn't) and asked them to leave. We then argued over the bill for a couple weeks until they came down to a reasonable price for what they did. I now have to invest more time and money into a project that should have been complete weeks ago. Never hire these guys

I'll really dumbstruck on this one. They were really great scheduling the appointment; they followed up the next day...on the appointment day it was rainy so they made great effort to reschedule with me for the following Monday which was the next sunny day before I leave town...that was yesterday and I did not hear from them once yesterday. I was completely crushed!! I will not have time to get this repaired before I leave town at this point by hiring a new person. I will repeat that I am dumbstruck by this because I left multiple messages yesterday and today (Tuesday) and called George as well as Christina. I was really looking forward to George being amazing. I'm so terribly sad and they won't answer or call me back and I have literally no idea why they would do that...my money is perfectly good and I was planning on hiring him for tons of different things and expressed as much. I hope leaving this review either strikes their attention today or prevents another potential client being heartbroken and completely let down.

Update: no one has reached out to me in any way to explain why they scheduled an appointment for a job and did not show up the day of and did not call to say they wouldn't show up AND did not answer their phone or return my 50 or 60 calls I made after they just ditched my business with no explanation. No one called me ever. No email. That is probably the worst business practice I could have think of...I don't get it.

George was fast to respond and did the job with care and precision. We had to get a paint job and fence work done to get our house ready for an appraisal. I would highly recommend his company.

BE CAUTIOUS!!! My first experience with Affordable Home Repair was actually a good one. I own a rental property in Columbus, GA and he did a few repairs at an affordable price. The reason for my one star rating is similar to a few others whom have written reviews. I called George to assess a couple more repairs one being a basic, plain, utility cabinet door that needed to be fixed as it was coming off the hinges. He said he would take care of it. I continued to reach out to him over the next couple weeks for updates as he said he was having someone make another door. He kept providing me with excuses, such as the person making the door wasn't able to paint it yet because it was too cold.....in GA..... About a month after he had originally been to the property he stopped responding to my calls and texts. I had my husband call him right after I did as George did not know my husbands phone number and low and behold George picked up! He told my husband he would get the cabinet door from whomever was making it and would update us that same day. Two days later.....no response to any calls or texts.....Beware and prepared that you may get screwed over if you hire George from Affordable Home Repair. Needless to say we will not being giving him anymore of our business from here on out.

He had used Alton to renovate his own home and wholeheartedly recommended him for his excellent work and reasonable rates as well as his integrity. I found all of this to be true as Alton transformed my plain 1970’s brick ranch into a beautiful home. This included custom craftsman trim throughout, tile work, bathroom fixtures, and installation of blinds, light fixtures, and ceiling fans. He also took care of exterior pressure washing and painting. You can rely on Alton’s dependability—he shows up when he tells you he will and keeps you informed every step of the way. All workers he brought in were prompt, professional, and did excellent work. I can honestly say I am just as happy with this home as I was with my previous custom built craftsman home. Alton’s work exceeded all my expectations!

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND by these hands home improvement, I had placed a call to Alton in regards to my daughters hot water heater,long story short he arrived the following morning ( because I called after hours,but he still answered) he went to my daughters house and not only lit the natural gas pilot light ( that in itself is a long story) but he also had to replace a receptacle that obviously had been melting,so yeah it could have been a very bad situation,but a huge thank you to Mr Alton for fixing our daughter's electrical problem!! Forever grateful 😊

Rodney and William did a great job installing lighting but also setting up the technology. They made sure to walk me through everything before they left. From when I submitted an inquiry to the lights being installed was just over 2 weeks!

Words cant express how pleased I am with the work of Rodney and William at Outdoor Lighting Perspectives. They did a wonderful job and very communicative throughout the process. Owner Bobby Springer was very nice to work it, all pricing, communication and pre planning for what the finished product will look like was second to none. I would recommend them to anyone.

We hired Outdoor Lighting Perspectives to install our landscape lights. Rodney, William and Ricky were very polite, professional and hard working. We are so happy with our landscape lights and could not recommend them more! Excellent customer service from start to finish.
