Mario and his crew were very professional, he came in at a good price and our backyard was looking good in two days! We are blown away at how our yard looks now. We went from mud to green space. I loved that they did not just place sod on the red clay they brought in dirt and top soil before laying down sod. They did things the right way and did not take shortcuts. We are pleased and will be using them again.

Gambo scapes did a great job with my sod project and continued communicating with me after completion to help make sure I was caring for it properly. Reasonably priced and very clean crew.

Mario was flexible and worked with me on pricing when I made it clear I needed some give. The crewlead Xander and his men filled in a ditch, reinforcing supports on a settling shed, built a rugged heavyuse parking pad for my trailers, and removed several thousand pounds of ivy for more then a fair price. Call them before they get bigger. Call em now.

We had a hot mess backyard due to some septic work and we wanted to put in a pool so grading and a retaining wall was needed. The guys came and in one day our backyard looks so much better and now I have a pool spot with a beautiful retaining wall. They even did us a huge kindness by moving the sand to the backyard. Great people. Would hire again.

Mario was very easy to work with and quick to respond. He gave me a fair quote to install a french drain along the front of the house to prevent water intrusion. His system was very thorough and his experienced installation team did a great job. I would recommend GamboScapes for drainage issues and landscaping work.

Had a sidewalk installed. The job was completed in a professional and timely manner and looked great. I was updated with a start and completion schedule that was as kept. Gambia Scapes did our sod and mulch at the front of our boarding facility. We were under a time crunch because our CO depended on it and they were able to squeeze us in quickly and did a great job that satisfied the county’s requirements! Would recommend them to anyone and we will use them again!

Besides weather issues delaying the project, when it began it was done very efficiently and professionally all within a matter of a few hours. The following day, a pressure washing team came to clean up. Everyone involved did a GREAT job. Highly recommend Mario and Gambo Scapes!

Gambo did a great job on our yard project and the communication was great. It was a week long project for a retaining wall, drainage installed, yard leveling, plants, new fence, etc., so it was no small feat. They were very professional and I would highly recommend them.

I had a wonderful experience with Gambo Scapes. Every employee I had contact with was pleasant, knowledgeable and wanting to make sure that I was happy with my project. They kept me well informed about my project and were always quick to respond to any questions. I would definitely recommend them.

I reached out to Mario at Gambo Scapes about having the flower beds around my house cleaned up and having some new plants installed. Mario listened to what I wanted done and gave me a fair estimate. I accepted the estimate and had the crew come out and they did a great job from begining to end. I am very impressed with the work done and will definitely be doing business with them again.

I recently hired Gamboscapes to perform a landscaping job at my home, and I wanted to share my experience to help others. The initial onsite consultation was positive — the project scope was clearly discussed. However, several issues emerged during the process that prospective customers should be aware of.
What went well
• The team arrived and were very kind and professional.
• They offered a payment plan which helped me financially.
What could be improved
• During the consultation, Mario did not take written notes of our discussed plan.
• I provided a detailed landscaping plan (including planting laurels along the full edge of the side fence) but the estimate reflected only two laurels at the back corner of the side fence, rather than multiple laurels along the length of the fence which I had requested.
When I questioned this discrepancy, I was told the additional plants would cost more because I wanted more than Mario’s quoted amount, despite the plan having been clear from the beginning.
• The estimate lacked an itemized breakdown of plant vs. labor costs, which I had requested prior to payment.
• On site, the head foreman admitted his expertise was in hardscaping and not landscaping, so I had to supervise spacing of plants myself and spent the day at home for oversight.
• After planting five weigela shrubs I later realized they were deciduous (not evergreen). I offered to select and pay for five evergreen replacements. The company initially agreed to pay for plants and plant them saying that “we will be there tomorrow to switch out the 5 plants of your choosing. We want you to be happy in the end”, but subsequently reversed course and insisted on sticking with the original plan, despite having offered the change. This inconsistency was frustrating and felt like being given the run-around.
• The azalea plant removal was left messy with rocks, roots sticking up and bricks strewn around because of a supposed underground yellow jacket nest. When I asked them to come back after I dealt with the nest, I was told that day was their “last day” so no return visit would be made, leaving me to finish removing the debris, evening out the plot and mulching which was not what I had agreed.
• While the job was ongoing, I checked in several times and found the crew sitting around on their phones. I felt there was a lack of efficiency, especially since I was paying for their time.
• Finally, I asked if they could trim the laurels in front. The response was that trimming wasn’t included and would cost $200, despite earlier promises that the trimming would be done “as soon as they can.” The shifting terms created additional frustration.
Summary
In short: the project was eventually completed and the result is acceptable, but the process lacked clarity, consistency, and thorough follow-through. If you contract this company, I would strongly recommend: getting a fully itemized estimate upfront, confirming the exact number & species of plants in writing, and explicitly clarifying what follow-up work is included (e.g., trimming, plant replacements).

The professionalism and work ethic of Gambo Scapes is beyond words. We have enjoyed so much having these guys and company here working on our project. The commitment to making sure all is going as we had envisioned was amazing. When the job was finished there was no evidence that anyone had been working so hard to beautify our yard!! Cannot wait to have the guys back to add in the additional flowers that are not yet available. Thank you Xander, Mario, and work teams!! You are all amazing on so many levels!! We are very happy with the services provided. We wanted a Burford Holly hedge installed along our property line. They came out sooner than expected, gave us an estimate and a time frame. The cost was reasonable. They were quick, professional, and they gave us instructions on how to maintain our plants. We are very happy with the results. I would recommend this company. We recently completed a full front yard hardscaping and landscaping project with Gambo Scapes, and I can honestly say this experience exceeded our expectations.
From the beginning, both project managers Micah and David were professional, responsive, and genuinely committed to doing things the right way.
Micah, communicated clearly, listened carefully to our design goals, and made sure every step of the process was executed properly — especially the curve, layout, and overall flow of the paver walkway. Moreover in particular, showed outstanding attention to detail early in the project when he identified a pipe near our front door entrance that was not ideally located. Without charging us anything extra, he and his team corrected it and rerouted the pipe closer to the street, giving it the proper solution it deserved. Even though I’m not familiar with plumbing details, it was clear this was a smart, long-term decision that improved both function and safety.
David stepped in during the final days of the project and was incredibly attentive, calm, and solution-oriented, making sure every detail was executed correctly and with care. His presence brought a lot of peace of mind during the finishing phase. David deserves special recognition for his dedication during the final phase of the project. He stood by his commitment to complete the work properly and on time, returning to the site and working late into the evening to ensure everything was finished correctly. After five full days of hard work, his determination to see the project through — even staying until nearly 8:00 pm — showed a level of responsibility, pride, and professionalism that is truly rare.
The entire wonderful hard-working crew deserves special recognition — Lalo, Rodolfo, Luciano and others worked tirelessly with kindness, respect, and true craftsmanship. You could tell they took pride in every paver they placed, whether it was part of the field, the soldier-course border, or the very detailed street entry edge.
Mario also deserves a special mention. Looking back, he gave us a very fair and logical quote for both hardscaping and landscaping. His material planning was spot-on — every paver was used efficiently, and the amount of Zeon Zoysia sod ordered was exactly right. Another landscaper had suggested ordering much more, which would have been unnecessary. Mario’s experience and honesty truly showed.
This project required coordination, precision, and thoughtful problem-solving, especially at the street entry edge and drainage areas. The team listened, adjusted when needed, and delivered a result that is elegant, safe, HOA-compliant, and timeless.
We are extremely grateful for the hard work, professionalism, and heart this team brought to our home. I would confidently recommend Gambo Scapes to anyone looking for quality craftsmanship and a team that truly cares about the final result.

We were really happy with the work done! The team was very responsive and helpful, answering all our questions and making recommendations to improve the space. The team came out to work early and hustled to get the patio done. The initial timing estimate was around 2 days, but it ended up taking closer to 5. Our yard was a steep, shaded slope that had some major erosion and drainage problems. We knew for a few years that it needed help but had a hard time swallowing the costs of a retaining wall. As soon as we met with and received a quote from Mario we knew it was time to say yes! The pricing was incredibly fair and the team was absolutely the best. Our neighbors have commented on how incredible the work was that they saw and we couldn’t agree more. We will be using them for all future work and could not reccomend them more! The photos don’t do it justice but you can easily see the huge difference from before and after.
